Hujitese Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 So, at the end of this month I might get a PSVita but before I do that I have some questions. 1st question is: Does Vita have alot of JRPG that were ported to West? 2nd question: Does it have Region Lock? Because thanks to that I almost dont have games for my 3DS... 3rd question: Alot of people say Vita is dead, is that true or not? On my viewpoint I dont see its dead because there is alot of JRPG coming to the west. And I think that's all my questions about it. Thanks in advance :3 Quote
Turnip Sensei Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 1. Vita's library of good games consist of mostly JRPGs, so no worries 2. No, there's no region lock, import all the games you want 3. Yeah, Vita is mostly JRPG and indie game machine nowadays Vita is great system if you like JRPGs. Quote
solidbatman Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 1. A decent amount, and even more from PSP games on PSN 2. Sort of region lock. You can play games from any region, but can really only access one region's PSN per system, unless you do some memory card trickery. 3. Vita is not even close to dead. Its a click bait, easy to write article from ignorant game "bloggers" to say it is dead. Quote

Pudding321 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 You can play any game you have bought, digital or physical. But the PSN you access stores only games that are sold in your region. So if you want to play games outside your region, you would have to buy physical copies. I bought zero escape from a HMV shop in my city because it isn't available in local retail stores or the playstation store on my device. Even if you are able to buy physical copies, sometimes problems arise when you want to buy a game that is only set for digital release, like English versions of the Atelier series. You might not find it in the PSN store in your region. Then you might need to stick with the Japanese version in the end. Quote
Stray Cat Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 I see. Then I will buy it at the end of the month. Thanks alot for the info :3 What do you mean "One region's PSN per system"? Isnt the same as a PS3? You can only use 1 PSN account on your vita system. You can't have both a Japanese and US one without resetting and losing everything. Quote
Cyrillej1 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Well, I've read that you're able to switch PSN accounts with a certain trick. If you want different PSN accounts on one Vita system, you need different memory cards. I've been looking into how to do it, but haven't tried it yet. It seems to work though. Simply, it means something like 1 PSN account can be attached per Memory Card. You don't lose everything if you have it saved on different memory cards. Quote
Zodai Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 VITA is in a rough spot at the moment, I'm personally along the 'almost dead' department. The number of games is a lot fewer than say, the 3DS. That said, for those in the anime/JRPG fan department the exclusives pull right into our core interests. Personally even P4G alone is enough to justify a purchase if you have the money to shell out, just don't be expecting as many new releases as the other consoles. Extra Credits actually did a video on it, so it might be good to check out. The system has enough localizations of Japanese games to make it a justifiable purchase for the anime market but if you're looking for something with a good flow of releases you'll have to look elsewhere. It's not very cost-effective but there's enough to be interested in. Also has some PSP titles on the PSN that you can pick up as well. Quote
