Katchan Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Hi everyone! I'm a bit new to this community and visual novels in general, so please forgive me if this question has been asked already. I tried looking around but couldn't really find an answer to this problem. Anyway! I downloaded a game and I launched it with using Visual Novel Reader. I toyed around with the options and at first everything was running smoothly. But after I downloaded a few dictionaries in the Preferences tab, and when I went back to the same game to test it out again, the community subtitles were gone and I'm not too sure why. I did mess around with some things like the Preferences tab -- for example: which translators I chose to use and whatnot....but I didn't think it would actually affect the community subs. Did I perhaps do something wrong and is there a way to reverse this? Or do the community subtitles just appear randomly? I also tried Updating the subtitles with the Menu tab but it just told me "Subtitles not found" so I'm really at a loss here. If anyone could help/offer advice, it would be much appreciated! Quote
Scoot Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Do you have previous sreenshots of how it looked and how it looks right now. (Maybe you screwed up something around subtitles in options :/) I am no expert with VN reader but maybe you could try reinstalling? Also if you want I can check settings over TV(Team Viewer) if you want just send me your skype or how I can get in contact with you. Quote
Cyrillej1 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Do you have Skype? If you'd like, maybe you could screen share with me, and I'll try to help you get it working. I've used subtitles on vnr before, so I think I could figure it out. Quote
Bolverk Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 When you start up the vn. At the left side a VNR menu appears. In Options there, try with messing with the settings there. Quote
Katchan Posted May 2, 2015 Author Posted May 2, 2015 Thank you for all the replies! I tried messing with the settings in Options and still no luck. (I have all options checked besides show current time, user comment, popup when hover and text aligns center) I unfortunately don't have screenshots of how everything looked before, but I could take one of my current settings, if that might help? I'll try reinstall to see what happens, and I'll let you guys know how that goes! Umm, also I do have Skype but I'm sadly not too familiar with Team Viewer or Screen sharing. ^^" Would giving my email suffice as a form of contact? Or if Skype is needed then I can give mine out. Just send me a message if anything! EDIT: This has been solved! I reinstalled it and it was fine again. Thank you to everyone who offered to help!!! Quote
