Building a Free Library of Images for Everyone
EricMatyas replied to EricMatyas's topic in Creative Corner
Hey Everyone, I've created new seamless metal textures to share with the community. You can find them here: https://soundimage.org/txr-metal-seamless/ They're 100% free to use, as always, like my thousands of other images, music tracks and sounds. My images homepage is here: https://soundimage.org/images-home-page/ If you can, please consider helping to support soundimage. My website is 100% ad-free and I pay for everything myself (including my keyboard synthesizers which are very expensive.) Your contributions make what I do possible. You can make a small donation here: https://soundimage.org/donate/ You can get a genre music pack here: https://soundimage.org/ogg-music-packs-2/ You can get my Music Mega Pack here: https://soundimage.org/ogg-game-music-mega-pack/ You can hire me to create some custom music for your project: https://soundimage.org/custom-work/ Thanks in advance for your continued support...please stay safe and keep being creative! -

So im trying to translate sakura musubi in order to play it comfortably and not look up kanjis every second. I know that the sakura.csx file contains the script but i cant find a way to turn the file into a readable format.

Hello, I was looking for a VN with heroine selection instead of dialogue driven routes, something similar to Majikoi, To heart 2 and If you love me then say so. Ofc recommendations must include english or spanish translated titles only. On another note, Id like to know if there are any good VN in which girls confess instead of MC. Those are rare to see, so I dont have hopes on that. Thank you in advance.

Natsu no Ame —Summer Rain— [Dat Boi Translations]
frogstat replied to frogstat's topic in Translation Projects
I do read through what I translate within the visual novel. And I have plenty of connections in the translation scene. Once the translation percentage reaches a good number, I can find someone to help edit. -
Hi, everyone! This release sees the Copycat storyline come to a conclusion along one of its two decision paths, with a couple of CGs included which illustrate one of the most satisfying scenes I've ever written. All in all, this storyline has been rather fun to write, and it's been nice to give Akiko another starring role to complement the one she had in Redemption ^^ Like always you can find this month's release in PC, Linux, Mac and Android versions on my SubscribeStar, Patreon or itch.io pages. I've also linked the most recent flowchart guide on the latest public news post on Patreon. For next time I'm probably going to continue my focus on Copycat, with another CG or two, extending the script slightly and working on the second path so I can call this whole part of Penlight done. Please enjoy the new release, and I'll see you next time What's New WRITING: The Copycat storyline has been completely written for one decision pathWRITING: Some minor edits made to the Redemption storyline script, adding in Akiko's singing interest revealed in Copycat, plus a few tweaks to a later scene on the relapse pathART: Two new CGs added to the Copycat storylineWord count is now around 461,000LOCALIZATION: Various edits and corrections to the Spanish scriptSome typo and grammar corrections

The English patch for Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete is out! Download via either Google drive or Mediafire. There really isn't much else to say beyond what I said in my previous post last week, but I appreciate all the support for not only this project, but also the previous projects, which thankfully have all seen completion, even if this one took longer than I had originally anticipated when I picked it up a year and a half ago. But as a long-time fan of visual novels, it's always nice to give something back to the community. So please enjoy the game released on the luckiest day of the year, Friday the 13th!

Natsu no Ame —Summer Rain— [Dat Boi Translations]
Silvz replied to frogstat's topic in Translation Projects
Came here to say the same. Try to find good proofreader(s) and editor(s). It's way too easy to miss our own mistakes, specially after we are reading the same text two, three times already. And I know that speed is great, but don't forget to take time to relax and review what you have translated. Sometimes a better translation will come after you actually stop working. In the end, you don't have tight deadlines, so make sure you enjoy the whole process without overdoing it :) -

Great Whatever the case - get someone for proofreading and possibly editing. It's very difficult to find errors in your own text - even the obvious ones, the kind which you'd facepalm at after someone points them out -

frogstat replied to frogstat's topic in Translation Projects
Just as you wrote that, another 0.5% got translated. Just kidding. But 5 months is for the translation to be finished if everything continues at this pace. There might be other things that need to be done, like UI or proofreading too. With that said, I've finished translating visual novels with like 10k lines in less than a month before. -

Good luck, it's indeed nice title! I think 5 months estimate might be too optimistic, but maybe you're really that fast But I think you have to be ready for some slow-downs along the road, since they're almost inevitable. -

The setting was presented well enough to understand everything without touching the encyclopedia section, I did not have any issues understanding the setting, all the characters, and the important bits of what their powers did based on context and what was shown on screen. I'm not saying this was a particularly great visual novel by any means, but you shouldn't claim a complete lack of something that was there. It's not without narration entirely, but there is less of it. You can see narration just a few minutes into the game in fact - to get this screengrab I just clicked on the second section of Chapter 1 Act 1. https://imgur.com/a/TQXHjD0

Dat Boi Translations Presents Natsu no Ame —Summer Rain— This is the official page for the Natsu no Ame translation project. https://vndb.org/v1898 Introduction Natsu no Ame is a drama visual novel with themes such as: Family, drama, miscommunication, really cute girls. What makes Natsu no Ame special to me is that the way it depicts drama is much more grounded than the average visual novel. It also has Midori. Midori is very cute. This project started on the 10th of June 2025. I'm the only member of the team, but I've gotten some outside help to get the engine and some of the assets working properly. At the current pace, it should take me about 3-5 months to finish. Progress 7% translated as of 14th June 2025 Screenshots

Pillagers of Raillore - 7.3/10 - A Discount Sorcery Jokers
Clephas commented on LostPomegranate's blog entry in LostPomegranate's Reviews and Recommendations
Even if you liked Sorcery Jokers, if you liked it at least partially for its narrative, then this game will be trash to you. There is no narration in this game, meaning the entirety of the game is expressed through dialogue, sprites, sound, and CGs. While the quality of the CG and motion is better than previous games, it is not so much better as to justify getting rid of narration entirely (if anything, decent narration would have turned a mediocre game into an excellent one). The sound (whether bgm or sound effects) is about the same or slightly lower in quality than previous 3rdeye games. Dialogue is no better or worse than previous games, save that there is slightly more exposition and meaningful pauses than there would have been in most games. Visually, the sprites are approximately the same as Sorcery Jokers and Gensou no Idea. Now, this is something that wasn't touched upon in the review overhead... setting and presentation. The setting is so poorly presented as to be incomprehensible unless you spend a lot of time backtracking through the crappy notes/encyclopedia section, and presentation-wise, the lack of narration leaves you guessing at most of the story's key points and not in a good old-fashioned mindf**k way. The former is a sign of just how poor a choice cutting out narration is for this type of game, as most fantasy/drama (or chuunige as we call it) are highly dependent on narration to inform the reader about the setting, and an encyclopedia is a lazy writer's choice as a replacement (theoretically, encyclopedia functions should be used for clarification, not outright explaining everything). All in all, the game leaves behind a poor impression, barely worthy of being considered a visual novel, much less a good one. -
[Gemini] Walkure Romanze More&More | COMPLETE

If there's a quick way to describe Raillore to people I think it'd be, "Sorcery Jokers but a bit worse". So if you've read or tried Sorcery Jokers before, then that's the easiest way to tell you if you should give Pillagers of Raillore a try or not. It has two protagonists, both of which are at least a half-step down from their Sorcery Jokers counterparts. Reno is basically a robot man who gets a bit frustrating to read since he's always asking for orders - although it isn't as common as "fair ja nai" in SJ - and Gray is a scoundrel who is more annoying in his implementation with it rather than comedic or interesting. On the opposite side of the characters, all the heroines are at least good to great. They range from the girl who always sees the positive in things (Fi), to the joking / teasing / a bit crazy girl (Milialis), to the food loving kind of airhead (Tilt), all the way to a kuudere who only cares about a few things (Easla). The character arcs - of the heroines - was gradual and well appreciated, and well explained through the story. It genuinely made you feel for them. Even the character arcs of the protagonists was not bad, although both were pretty backloaded. Story here is pretty interesting and there are some twists that I didn't see coming. Although it still follows a bit of a formula and I think it somehow simultaneously gets dragged out a bit more than it should have as well as ended too quickly. First it was dragged out in that there were constantly new antagonists at every turn, some of which were not very fleshed out. All the new antagonists led to a bit of a feeling of. "When is this going to end?" and some of the later ones were very much in a, "Here's a short infodump about why they're evil and have to be defeated" instead of a proper buildup. The action scenes in this have a high production value and at the start to the middle are pretty interesting. However, it suffers a bit from the same issue Sorcery Jokers had in that things have a pretty intense power creep. With that power creep by the end it feels like a saga of Dragon Ball Z or Naruto where there are power ups and ridiculous things going on to the point where the ending had to be anticlimactic because it was built up far too much. Arguably the climax of the power creep even happened around the 60-70% mark and from then on it just became tedious. Music is all done by mamomo again, with the ED having some help from a new person "kakin" that I haven't personally seen anywhere. This leads to some pretty banger BGM tracks, two great OPs, and a good ED - which was fully in English, which is rare. Systems are pretty standard, and although some other people have reported some lag issues in fight scenes, I saw none of that, but I am running a high-end gaming rig, so YMMV there. Overall, to most readers I'd recommend Pillagers of Raillore. If you read Sorcery Jokers and were not a fan of that, then skip this. If you haven't read anything by 3rdEye yet, I'd recommend Sorcery Jokers over this though.

Obviously the VN of the Month for May 2025 is Kinsenka aka Perennial Dusk with it written by Irotoridori's writer, and obviously he can still write the dark story if the fact that Frontwing tell us to apply the patch that restore the violent content is any indication (And yes the writer has been wrote some dark stuffs even when he wrote Irotoridori no Sekai way back in 2012). There's also Hatsukoi Master Up with it another story about a group of people who want to make VN, and from what I saw at VNDB discussion is that the participants didn't like one of the heroine because of what she did, although in the end it's just the warm-up for the upcoming Amakano 3 in which it'll be released at the same day as Yuzusoft's Lemonade Jam. For Clover Reset, no much to say other than it has nice arts and it's more like CGDCT even though it's labelled as GL VN, and it probably could be a bit longer seeing the developer set another couple. That's all for what I can comment in regard of May 2025 releases.
