Kaname Aokari, a library committee member, is reluctantly tasked with creating a website documenting the school’s history. While organizing materials, he discovers a mysterious book titled The Bizarre Crimes of Saika High, detailing past tragedies at the school. The book reveals that three female students had been murdered, and as Aokari reads further, he finds his own name under “2024 - Kaname Aokari - Death.” Suddenly, a pale-faced boy named Saika appears, claiming, “I’m here to save you.” Aokari collapses and wakes up in the past, where he meets Chiyoko Shirakami, the first victim listed in the crime history. Saika tells him, “Saving her will save you too.” This marks the beginning of Kaname Aokari’s journey to rewrite his fate and uncover the mysteries of Saika High School. Only including because company is proper and there's windows release, but of course it's just a minor mystery mobile game.

I rate both Kono yo no Hate (1994) and Kimi to Ita Natsu (1994) as small masterpieces, but the former definitely has more impact and plot development. 1. Han Myung Hoe (1994) [한명회] (Finished 1/105) Tags: Historical This biographical drama deals with the palace politics in the time of Han Myung Hoe, a tactician who was instrumental in Sejo's usurpation of young King Danjong's throne. The events detailed here are similar to those already presented in The Ume Tree in the Midst of the Snow, written by the same writer a decade earlier. Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 2. Moshimo Negai ga Kanau Nara (1994) [もしも願いが叶うなら] (Finished 1/12) Tags: Comedy, Romance, Crime, Drama FL got to orphanage after her mother died. Just when she was going to marry heir to a major trading company, her older brothers showed up to stay with her. Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 3. Sweet Home (1994) [スウィート・ホーム] (Finished 1/12) Tags: Drama, Family When the Inoue family just moves into their new residence, they are shocked to see everyone there so anxious about getting their children into good schools. In order not to be the one left out, they also join in the crowd and train their child hard to score well in the primary school entrance exam. Interestingly, their next door neighbor has a kid same age as theirs and always likes to compete with them. This makes the whole exam process more exciting and stressful, of course. Wow, no plot at all... just some family affairs in exaggerated manner. No good characters spotted, too. Overall Rating: 5/10 4. Kono yo no Hate (1994) [この世の果て] (Finished 12/12) Tags: Romance, Drama, Melodrama Maria, struggling financially, juggles a low-paying day job with nighttime shifts at a cabaret to fund her sister Nana's eye operation. Tragedy struck their family when a young Maria accidentally caused a fire, resulting in Nana's blindness and their father's death. Shiro, a discontented concert pianist, crosses paths with Maria in a traffic accident, leading to his hospitalization. Adopting a false identity and amnesia, Shiro seeks refuge at Maria's home, eventually becoming a cabaret pianist. Unbeknownst to them, fate weaves a complex web, revealing that their lives were never meant to intersect. I would not want to promote destructive behavior, but this piece is full of genuine sincere misery and - again - classic literature vibes, plus appearance of Sakurai Sachiko makes everything better. There are a lot of silly non-reasonable moves, so it's far from perfect or even great and thus does not deserve a higher score, especially with this much pain by the end. Overall Rating: 7/10 5. Hito no Fukou wa Mitsu no Aji (1994) [ひとの不幸は蜜の味] (Finished 3/11) Tags: Romance Satoko is an ordinary bank teller with aspirations to someday become a manga-ka, or graphic novel artist. In her spare time, she draws and inks her own stories and submits them to publishers, who one after another reject her work because it's... missing something. (It's implied that she lacks credentials as an apprentice to an established manga-ka to pay her dues.) But quite by chance, Satoko stumbles onto a sudden vacancy to apprentice for her idol, Kurebayashi Mayuko. What is her idol-like? Satoko imagines her new boss must be like one of the angelic heroines in her own comics, but the reality is something different. Light comedy around extravagant mangaka. Sadly, rather foolish and aimless. Overall Rating: 6/10 6. Natsuko no Sake (1994) [夏子の酒] (Finished 3/11) Tags: Food, Life, Drama Natsuko lives her dream as a copy writer for an advertising company in Tokyo. But when she hits a slump in her career, she returns to her family's sake brewery in the countryside. There she discovers her older brother has been hunting down a phantom rice called tatsunishiki, believing it to be ideal for creating a new sake. He finds the rice seeds he needs to begin his new sake, but right after Natsuko returns to Tokyo with her spirits renewed, he passes away suddenly. Despite new success at her job, she decides to quit and return home to continue her brother's dream. What begins is a several years long journey, first to cultivate the notoriously difficult to grow tatsunishiki, and then to perfect the brewing process of her new sake. Rural farming for brewery is super boring for me, and nothing here strikes anything outside of banal. Overall Rating: 5/10 7. Romance of the Three Kingdoms (1994) [三国演义] (Finished 3/84) Tags: Historical, Drama In an age of turmoil, heroes will rise... It is the end of the 2nd Century, and China is in a state of turmoil. The land is divided by warlords, and the country is facing famine, droughts, and invasion from bordering tribes. On top of the problems the country is facing, Zhang Jiao and his brothers begin to rebel against the Han while advocating the arrival of a new era, the era of the "Yellow Dragon," implying that if people followed him, they would lead prosperous lives. Thousands of desperate villagers flocked to follow Zhang Jiao as they raided government offices and plundered towns and villages alike in protest of heavy taxation, wearing only a "yellow turban" on their heads. As their strengths and numbers grew, the "Yellow Turbans" overthrew some of the Imperial Court's best generals and strongest forces. Concerned for their capital in Luo Yang and for the Han empire, the Imperial Court immediately constructed an "alliance" by requesting volunteers across the country to settle the rebellion. Three distinct generals were recruited - Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and Sun Jian. Together with their own officers, the Yellow Turban rebellion was quickly laid to rest, and each of the men involved immediately gained popularity and power with the people. As their powers grew, however, each continued to seek more control of their territories and unite all of China under one rule. One fought for hegemony. One fought for ambition. One fought for righteousness. Veteran officers and generals who shared the same visions swarmed under each leader. These stalwart souls waged war across the vast expanse of the land and, like bloodthirsty demons, cut down any and all that stood in their way. Thus, the romance of the Three Kingdoms begins. I'm rather disappointed as it looses in everything compared to anime - actors choice, tempo, action scenes. There are also some silly antics and many events and talks with little meaning. Overall Rating: 6/10 8. Hana no Ran (1994) [花の乱] (Finished 1/37) Tags: Historical, Drama, War The story takes place during the Muromachi period of Ancient Japan, in the midst of the Onin War. The main character in the series is Tomiko Hino, a historical figure with a bad reputation because of her actions to rebuild Kyoto after the Onin War. Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 9. Scent of Love (1994) [사랑의 향기] (Finished 1/52) Tags: Drama Aromatic love that overcomes the hardships of youth. True love is learned through each couple of three generations and the love of a family that has lost the father in a car accident. Yong Jin works at an animation production company and Jae Jin is a university student. The two sisters are bright and cheerful despite not having a father. Yong Jin meets a guy and regardless of her mom's disapproval, continue with her love for him. Not only love but the waiting, hatred, and disappointments are well projected. Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 10. Fate of the Last Empire (1994) [清宮氣數錄] (Finished 1/20) Tags: Historical, Romance, Drama - Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 11. Kono Ai ni Ikite (1994) [この愛に生きて] (Finished 1/12) Tags: Thriller, Romance, Drama This story focuses on a married couple and their search for happiness as a family. Akemi becomes pregnant, Seiichi eventually divorces his wife and marries her. Despite their passionate romance before marriage, now Seiichi does not look at or think of Akemi as "a woman". Part of Seiichi's reason has to do with the fact that he again goes out with his former wife Ritsuko, cheating on Akemi. When Akemi notices what Seiichi is thinking, she meets Yusaku Shirube, a police detective. Akemi and Yusaku eventually have a love affair that night, comforting their wounded hearts. This one-night love affair is to be a start for perfect love. Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 12. Ie Naki Ko (1994) [家なき子] (Finished 1/12) Tags: Life, Drama "Don't pity me, just give me money." A smart little girl, Suzu, for the sake of her beloved sick mother, has no choice but to attempt all ways to fork up the money required for the operation. It includes stealing, cheating and almost anything that could yield cash. However, deep within her is a sadness unseen by many. Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 13. General Hospital (1994) [종합병원] (Finished 1/92) Tags: Drama, Medical This drama depicts the sorrows, hardships, relationships and ambitions of doctors at a General Hospital, particularly the senior resident 'Venomous Snake' Park Jin Won, playboy Park Hyun Joon and nurse Kim So Yi. Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 14. 17-sai - At Seventeen - (1994) [17才-at seventeen-] (Finished 1/14) Tags: Comedy, Youth The peaceful everyday lives of a group of classmates are disrupted by the sudden return of their childhood friend, Takumi. Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 15. Kimi to Ita Natsu (1994) [君といた夏] (Finished 12/12) Tags: Romance, Drama Three young people, Irie, Sugiya and Asami, decide to share a room together one summer. All three of them experience sadness, love and friendship as they fall in and out of love. They all become a vital part of each other's life, but at the end of summer vacation, they go their separate ways. Sugiya returns home, Asami leaves Tokyo and returns to the country, and Irie remains in the room they had shared as if nothing had happened over the last 40 days of summer. Story is simple and kinda of melodramatic, but actors are great as well as non-repulsive. Plus, ending is surprising, so it's well worth a masterpice status even though after first several episodes it was kind of empty till the very end. Overall Rating: 7/10 16. Okane ga nai! (1994) [お金がない！] (Finished 12/12) Tags: Business, Comedy, Drama Kentaro lives in the suburbs with his two little brothers. They are poor, but they are happy. The factory Kentaro works for, though, goes bankrupt on pay day and Kentaro finds himself out of a job and with even less money. The brothers are thrown out of their apartment and Kentaro, a born optimistic until then, decides that he must aggressively pursue "money". This drama depicts the success story of Kentaro in his search for money and a better life. Managed to finish it even though I feel uneasy with money and luck/unluck focus. MC role is basically antics. What saves the day a bit is some side characters, some unexpected situations solutions, some comedy... and that's probably it. There's nothing to recommend it for, especially because it's mostly just a streak of lucky turns of events. Overall Rating: 6/10 17. Kindan no Kajitsu (1994) [禁断の果実] (Finished 1/13) Tags: Romance, Life The intense love affair of a man and a woman who later discover that they are actually brother and sister. Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 18. Ningen Shikkaku (1994) [人間・失格〜たとえばぼくが死んだら] (Finished 1/12) Tags: Thriller, Psychological, Youth, Drama Three tales raise unsettling questions about the central qualities of being human. In one, a father is torn between love for his son and the desire for revenge, while a second examines the twisted love of a teacher for his female colleague. The third story delves into the complex affections hidden within a bully. Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 19. Good Mourning (1994) [グッドモーニング] (Finished 1/11) Tags: Business, Comedy, Family A comedy-touch drama set in a funeral business. The English spelling of "morning" is "mourning" , so title translation, went that way. Minori Amano becomes a widow on her honeymoon. Still, she becomes part of the Amano family's funeral home business. From now on, the woman not only has to fight with eccentric clients, but the rest of the Amano family who have a lot to say about running the business. Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 20. Eternity (1994) [千歲情人] (Finished 1/20) Tags: Romance, Fantasy The play tells the story of Bu Jinghong and Ying Zhan, who were searching for the elixir of immortality during the Qin Dynasty. Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 21. Feelings (1994) [느낌] (Finished 3/16) Tags: Romance, Drama Three brothers Bin, Hyun and Joon become drawn to the very pretty and sweet Yuri, a family friend. Yuri arrives from France to live with them for the summer while attending classes at their university, causing each brother to be attracted to her in a different way. As the first subbed Korean dorama it does provide a curious look at the glamourless Korea of 1990s, but overall it's pretty terrible in every element . Overall Rating: 5/10 22. Heroic Legend of the Yang's Family (1994) [碧血青天楊家將] (Finished 1/30) Tags: Historical In a fierce battle against the invading army of its neighboring country Liao, Song's main force, the famous Yeung's Troop, suffers a complete defeat due to failure of prompt backup from its General in Chief Pong Loong, who is jealous of the Yeung's military honors. Later, in the investigation over the defeat, the Justice Bao finds solid evidence against Loong of his fraternization with Liao, which leads to the execution of Loong, and thus arouses hatred between the Yeung family and Loong's father, the Grand Tutor Pong. Realizing his identity as a Yeung's offspring after being out of contact with the Yeung family for ages, Liao General Yollig Jung-Yuan returns to the land of Song for a reunion with his own birth parents. Seeing it as a chance to maliciously revenge on the Yeungs, Pong strives for the execution of Jung-Yuan. After his evil plan is destroyed by Justice Bao, Pong decides to vent his hatred on another Yeung's member Jung-Bo by framing him as a rebel, aiming to have the whole Yeung family executed as traitors. As the war between Song and Liao becomes more intense, the female warriors of the Yeung family put aside their personal hatred and set out for safeguard against the invaders. Unknowing that the Grand Tutor Pong has fraternized with Liao, the Yeung's Army gets trapped and surrounded by the enemy and is facing a life-and-death situation.... Not translated. Around him is a circle of close childhood friends, all with different dreams and different realities. Takeshi used to be Tetsuo's closest friend but they fell out after an accident. One day, Tetsuo and the others come across Takeshi again... Partially translated. It's pretty hard to follow or get interested in lives of six friends that don't intersect much. Guess it's realistic enough and maybe going somewhere more meaningful later, but without full subs shikata ga nai. Overall Rating: 6/10 25. Yoru ni Dakarete (1994) [夜に抱かれて] (Finished 1/10) Tags: Romance, Drama A woman living in the night city and a host trying to shake off the dark past. And another man who loves him while rivalry him. While peeping at the backside of the Mizu shoubai (the night entertainment (nightlife) business) draw a human-like pattern of the primary colors that breathe in there. Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 26. Shizukanaru Don (1994) [静かなるドン] (Finished 1/19) Tags: Crime - Not translated. Overall Rating: 6/10 27. Class of Distinction (1994) [阿Sir早晨] (Finished 1/20) Tags: Comedy, Romance, Drama A drama about a man who worked in the advertising industry that is forced into becoming a substitute teacher. He is truthful with and loyal to Tin, yet he is bruised all over in the end! Poon Long Ching worships Tin. His is determined to get rich and famous, by fair means or foul. Yan Suo Chong Lou (1994) [煙鎖重樓] (Finished 1/24) Tags: Historical, Drama, Family Set in the early Republican Era (the 1920s) in a small town in Anhui Province called White Sand, which was famed for its Chastity Archway of Widowhood. The Chastity Archway of Widowhood honored women who remained staunchly faithful to their dead husbands and devoted their remaining life to serving the family. The spoiled son of the Zeng clan, a prominent family in White Sand Town, is married to Xia Meng Han, a young woman from a distinguished family. Unfortunately, their marriage proves to be unhappy as the son wastes away his time in entertainment, drinking, and womanizing. One day he gets himself in a brawl and gets killed. Her boyfriend betrays her for another woman. Shocked, Noriko decides to leave home and to move in with her best friend, Aya. The story of one woman's struggle to find happiness and love. Don't see it going anywhere as it contains mostly random events and not trying to evolve. Overall Rating: 5/10 32. A Cruel Lover (1994) [郎心如鐵] (Finished 1/30) Tags: Drama, Romance MC ruthlessly throws the women who love him one after another into the abyss of eternal destruction for the sake of fame and fortune... Not translated Overall Rating: 6/10 33. The Chevaliers (1994) [侠义见青天] (Finished 1/38) Tags: Drama The drama is adapted from the Qing Dynasty classic "Three Heroes and Five Gallants" Not translated. Emperor of Taizong, Li Shi Min (1994) [唐太宗李世民] (Finished 1/54) Tags: Historical, Romance The play spans from the end of the Sui Dynasty to the 23rd year of the Zhenguan Period, telling the story of Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, who met and accompanied his friends and lovers from his youth as a prince, and gradually grew into a qualified emperor in the process, showing Li Shimin's life's great achievements and emotional entanglements one by one. Fata Morgana is my favorite VN :3 Tsui No Sora is brilliant, daddy sca-ji never disappoints. As for gore screaming show, it was very disappointing. Now Dead End Aegis has been on my mind, I will read it soon. Sorry for the late reply.

Setoguchi Renya style of writing consists of leaving deep impactful messages on the mind of the reader, through shocking events and brilliant prose. I think this was most prominent in Swan Song and HiraHira Hihiru, since reading these two novels I've been longing for any novel that is strongly meaningful and leaves a significant message on me as a reader. I want every recommendation you could think of, as long as it fits the same category as these two novels or the same niche this writer fulfills.

Since this post, I have finished my reread of Adventure of a Lifetime. As for Livestream 2, I am slowly making progress through it. My college classes keep making me busy with assignments. Fortunately, I did start another VN titled Sakura: The Jirai-kei Magical Girl. So far, it is decent. My biggest problem with it is that I only like 1 of the 3 main characters. The protagonist is fine as he will probably end up being another blank slate male protagonist. As for Sakura, she might have a good design, but I do not like her personality. She is a lazy shut-in who eats a lot and does not know what showers are. Did the writers think that the reader would be fine with a character like this because it is a girl with a nice design? I'll post a review of Adventure of a Lifetime here in the future. For now, I will say that it is just as good as I remembered it. Even though many of my thoughts on this VN did not change, I still enjoyed going through it again.

what visual novels do you like?

Please take no offense but I can't help but smile at the idea of someone wanting to read a NTR nukige (I mean, the title gives it all even without further information) while avoiding NTR ^^. Hope you'll be able to get what you want nevertheless.

Ubel Blatt- This series leaves me with a lot of mixed emotions. On the one hand, this series is an excellent revenge story with a deep setting and characters... on the other hand, the presentation of the first four or five episodes is pretty shoddy. I don't say this to be mean but rather to tell yall why I both love and feel ambivalent about the series as a whole. There are some really good action scenes and tons of blood in this series, but fight choreography frequently stutters and the chain of events is not always properly pursued. It is particularly bad when moving between arcs, where the beginning of the arc is just glazed over in a blasé fashion in most cases. This is particularly marked in the first arc, where I frequently winced at the choices of the animators, even as certain scenes stood out on their own as pure gold. The protagonist's deep and complex emotions make for great sob scenes at certain key points, especially where he confronts the Heroes, and I find myself remembering those moments more than the fights, despite this being a violence/blood focused series. Sakamoto Days- Comedy series about a former assassin having to deal with his former co-workers trying to kill him while he runs a convenience store to support his family. There are some tributes to Gintama in the story, but for the most part it is just an ongoing zany series of events where Sakamoto and friends try to avoid killing while driving off assassins so Sakamoto won't get in trouble with his wife. Solo Leveling s2- I only put this down because Kvan went out of his way to diss the series... seriously. This basically takes what made the first season great, then amps it up by several levels. The real attraction of the series is the fight choreography, the music, the flashy action and the occasional moments of vulnerability and growth on the part of the protagonist. I wouldn't call this shounen, but rather a 'seinen' story, as the protagonist's motivations are more down to earth and less aspirational than in a shounen. In addition, there is no comradery or group antics along the way, as evidenced by the name of the series. There are several extremely emotional moments, both positive and negative, during the course of the story that left a big impact, at least for me. Salaryman- A despairing salaryman gets summoned by a maou as one of the Four Heavenly Kings, where he ends up working as a negotiator, bringing together the maou's army and fixing its problems along the way. It is also about his personal journey from a burnt-out, broken man to a more healthy-minded and vigorous individual working for the sake of those around him. Botsuraku Kizoku- Fantasy anime where a magic-obsessed man gets reincarnated in the body of a talented noble child in a family that is about to lose its title. He pursues magic obsessively and rapidly rises, earning a massive following (and an adorable harem on the side). It is mostly him innocently pursuing magic and raising up those around him in a partly incidental manner. Edit: Kvan calls it banal, and he isn't wrong. It is fairly trite as fantasy go, which was why I stopped reading the LN about the point where the anime ends. However, the anime presents it in a way that is reasonably enjoyable, so even if it is banal, it isn't as awful as he tries to portray it. Saikyou Alchemist- Surprise hit, at least for me. While it is definitely a trope isekai where the protagonist gets summoned to another world and granted power by a goddess, its well-presented and well-written, with a solid cast of characters and a setting that is just detailed enough to keep a watcher's interest. An example of an anime using the tropes rather than being used by them, at least in my opinion. Tensei Ojisan- Comedy anime where an old guy in a coma gets his consciousness transported into the body of a villainess in an otomege and sets out to save her while helping the protagonist progress her romances (while failing and only earning yuri points and love points from the heroes without realizing it). Edit: Kvan focused on it being a 'villainess' anime, which actually isn't the point of the thing at all (meaning he probably didn't even watch the first episode or even read the animelist summary). Fugukan- The concept is the recent (in the last four years or so) standard where the protagonist starts out with a crap skill/job/class that gets him treated like crap and betrayed by his friends, only to become immensely powerful as a result of that betrayal. Ein is a pretty solid protagonist, and the heroines are adorable for the most part. The story is solid as well, if a bit tropey. Isekai Tsuuhan- Basically yet another old guy with a skill that lets him order stuff from earth while in another world. Tbh, this sub-genre is one of those that is either funny and fun or absolutely awful and boring. This one manages to lean more toward the former, fortunately. NEET Kunoichi- Mostly a romance between a NEET ninja girl and a salaryman who is targeted by youma. Romance is slow to develop for obvious in-story reasons, but it is definitely present. Comedy is mild, action is surprisingly bloody but not really that great compared to more focused anime. Beheneko- Ecchi fantasy following a guy reincarnated as a baby behemoth who ends up as a pet for an erofu (ecchi elf girl). For someone who wants something that is mostly silly, tropey, and ecchi, it is great. Edit: Kvan once again missed the point. There is no 'cheat skill' in this one. It is mostly about the elf heroine's growth and him watching over her in the main story (though it can be argued the ecchi atmosphere and h-references are the point of the series). I'm not saying the series is awesome, I'm saying that you should take Kvan's statements with a massive grain of salt, given that he obviously didn't watch most of the series on his list or even pay attention to the scenario summaries. Elf-san- Very cute romance between a sleepy-eyed guy with an easygoing personality and an elf he befriends while going between worlds in his sleep. There is some action, but it is mostly flavor for the rom-com. Edit: Having finished the series today, I can say it is a surprise gem. I honestly was expecting to drop this one when I first started the series, but it turned out to be a wonderfully adorable romance with some really heart-touching moments. Girumasu- Mostly a comedy about an Adventurers Guild receptionist who goes out and finishes dungeon bosses to end her overtime. There is some serious stuff, but it is mostly the protagonist wailing or getting pissed off about being forced to work late at night or on holidays then going berserk and ending all the quests so she can get off early. Edit: Finished it today, have to say that I find it somewhat amusing that the protagonist's combat style is complete muscle-head, while the hero is the clever hard-worker who just barely gets by. Aparida- Harem fantasy following a red mage who gets exiled from a high-ranking party. Pretty standard fantasy LN scenario these days (not my favorite, really), where the protagonist gets back at those who put him down without really trying.

I'm just interpreting the ending names, but it looks like the first two heroines are nonstop NTR routes with no non-NTR endings. The other routes seem to have one ending each that is a happy ending, but I can't tell whether there is NTR just looking at that. We also have both Daiakuji fan translation project and Yoru ga Kuru Remake announcement, although there's no release date for both with only the latter has the estimation release in this year.

Yes, just move the patched scenario archives out of the game folder, and reinsert the original archives. Then just load whatever save you have. The scenario archives are the 12 files from data01000.arc to data01011.arc.

But then he’s summoned to a terrifying fantasy world by the Demon Overlord, who offers him a new job—as one of the Heavenly Kings in his army, with full benefits! Uchimura may not have muscles or magic, but he does have an office worker’s skills and savvy. Will they be enough to keep him alive? We've already seen anime about newly appointed demon king general managing logistics and raising overall effectiveness. And I still did not rate it higly even despite the twist. This time it's more logical approach of some five increasing in complexity tasks, but also no twist and no really good characters, and some tasks are done in detective manner. The tiny department, consisting of Takao and her sole resident Yuu "Kotori" Takanashi, treats complex cases that most other departments within the hospital cannot resolve on their own. The mystery-obsessed Takao always tries to insert herself into cases that capture her fancy—much to the dismay of her colleagues and the police. Even if her meddling creates more problems for the hospital and those around her, none can deny the brilliance that the young department head exhibits as she weaves a diagnosis together. No matter the specialty, no case is impossible for Takao and a somewhat reluctant Takanashi to solve. Medical detective. Overall Rating: 5/10 16. Fuguushoku "Kanteishi" ga Jitsu wa Saikyou Datta Even Given the Worthless "Appraiser" Class, I’m Actually the Strongest 不遇職【鑑定士】が実は最強だった [Okuruto Noboru] (Finished 3/12) Tags: Action, Adventure, Fantasy In a fantasy world where "jobs" are god-given from birth, heroes are born, not made—and Ein's job of "Appraiser" has put him about as far from the "hero" pedestal as possible. Used, abused, and eventually abandoned by his fellow adventurers, Ein decides it just isn't worth going on. Lucky for Ein, though, the end may just be the beginning, as well as a new lease on life. Turns out, his "worthless" job may just be the key to becoming a hero after all. Another cheat skill flick about learning any skills and gaining all kinds of immunities out of nowhere... that's all I needed to know. Overall Rating: 5/10 17. Izure Saikyou no Renkinjutsushi? Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time いずれ最強の錬金術師? [Studio Comet] (Finished 4/12) Tags: Isekai Adventure, Fantasy Not even a hero, Takumi Iruma gets accidentally mixed in with a group of heroes chosen to be summoned to another world. As compensation for the mix-up, a goddess offers him the right to choose any skill he wishes for! Hoping for a peaceful and quiet life that has nothing to do with fighting or going into battle, he chooses a seemingly boring creation skill. However, it turns out "alchemy" is the most powerful skill that allows him to create everything from a holy sword to flying ships! This cheat skill he unexpectedly acquired turns him into a wealthy merchant and makes him undefeatable in battles! A heartwarming adventure story about (possibly) the most powerful alchemist in another world! The level of cheesiness increased gradually and by the end of 4th episode nausea got unbearable. Weighed down by the vast difference between him and his childhood friend who became an S-Rank adventurer, he spends his days working the farm and practicing his swordsmanship. However, one day, he accidentally eats a second skill fruit, which normally results in death...but not only does he miraculously survive, he discovers that his bogus skill actually contains a secret ability! Freaking cheat skill AGAIN. Overall Rating: 5/10 19. Akuyaku Reijou Tensei Ojisan From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad's Been Reincarnated! However, what baffles him is the fact he wound up in the world of an otome game—as the young villainess and the daughter of a duke, Grace Auvergne. Fortunately for Kenzaburou, he is somewhat familiar with his new world, as it is based on the game called Magical Academy: Love & Beast. He was a proud father in his previous life, and he often listened to his daughter rave about the game's setting and characters. They inadvertently wake the slumbering beast, who promptly reduces them to ashes. For Kazuhiro, it is merely a temporary setback, as he can simply go back. However, he is shocked to find Mariabelle herself safe and sound asleep next to him. Kazuhiro realizes that his dream world is an alternate reality altogether. In the meantime, he makes the most of this bizarre circumstance, introducing Mariabelle to the sights and wonders of Japan. But this one goes much further and manages to continue narration in a different field. To his surprise, he quickly finds out that Shizuri is a shut-in who loves to play video games whenever she is not busy with her ninja duties. While experimenting on the peculiar light emanating from the water, Shion finally confirms that magical energy really exists. It may not be convenient for anything just yet, but Shion devotes his time to studying the anomaly, determined to uncover all the existing wonders in his quest to make magic. Tougo strives to help as many as possible in the new world and find a way back home, while Yihdra desires to redeem her family lineage of mages and make magic accessible to everyone. Along their journey, the duo discover the limitations yet endless potential of the bonds they forge as they overcome adversities to achieve their aspirations. Cringy and hardly benefitting in any way anime from such extravagant concept. Overall Rating: 5/10 33. Neko Tsukahara, a young woman with an expressionless face, finds herself at this hotel. As she is guided along by the staff, Neko regains enough of her memories to become invested in the plights of the other guests. Solving the guests' affairs and the mystery behind the hotel turns out to be too interesting of a situation to pass up; Neko decides that simply being a guest is not enough to satisfy her curiosity. Captivatingly drawn, Song of the Long March portrays the feisty girl's adolescent journey toward countless unknown adventures, faithful comradeship, as well as formidable enmity awaiting her along the way. Definitely watchable and well done story about revenge of betrayed princess. But is it really interesting? For me not so much, especially since Chinese elements are presented in excess. Karenai Sekai to Owaru Hana is a nakige with some positives but it also struggles a bit with a story that is very one-note to its detriment. Past that it's pretty standard fare. To me it's another visual novel where the positives and negatives cancel out to where it's just fine. Characters are interesting enough. There's a perverted onee-san type, a cheeky kouhai type, a kind and caring type, and a cutesy imouto type. They all fit their stereotypes fairly well, although there isn't much time spent on characterization beyond the basics, so don't expect very deep characters here. There's also not much character development in this visual novel - partially due to its relatively short runtime (7:23 for me). There are no real standouts here, but nothing particularly grating either. The story is both where this visual novel shines as well as the largest area of failure in my opinion. On the positive end it manages to be a somewhat effective nakige in a very short period of time. It managed to get me emotional within the first hour and a half of reading, which normally does not happen. For me though, once that was successful there was no truly effective comedy or break in the serious mood. It had a few comedic moments but very quickly dove back into serious issues, which led to a feeling of it being a bit of a slog to get through and greatly diminished what emotional impact was there. Most of the aimed comedy moments were the tired and cliche straight / funny man bits, most of which were as cliche as they come, with nothing feeling original at all. I think if you enjoy the kind of comedy here then you'll likely feel a lot more positively about the story as it would have broken up the serious parts quite a bit better. All the story bits were also foreshadowed well in advance, to the point where I had figured out where everything was going by the time the prologue had finished. Take from that what you will, but for me it was another aspect where it diminished the emotional payout when it can be seen from that far away. The epilogues are where all the moe and cute moments are, but they're not very long and are probably 60-75% H-scenes all take place within the epilogues. There's 10 total H-scenes in total that would feel at home in a Marmalade title. I found the art to be very pretty, and the direction aided here, especially the multiple scenes with flower petals being animated along the screen, but there's not a lot of CGs or backgrounds present. Music is also fairly limited, but what is there is appropriate, although I wished the scripting of it was timed a bit better. The OP is a very pretty AiRi sung song, but the ED is a run of the mill Sagara Kokoro tune. The fan translation done by Shinzou translations isn't bad, but it could've used more editing or QA work. It reads like it was translated from JP to Spanish and then into English. From the lines I listened to in full - admittedly very few - the translation itself is fine, but there's a decent number of typos and grammatical errors. For instance there were at least three times "tights" was in the script instead of "thighs". If this kind of thing bothers you then I would skip this one. This title can be picked up secondhand without too much trouble and there's also a download edition. It worked without any real issues for me on a Windows 11 PC. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a decently written nakige if they're a fan of the cliche straight man / funny man type of comedy. If you're not a fan of that comedy it will likely feel one note to you like it did to me.
