Believe it or not, the forums are not the only part of Fuwanovel. This may surprise some of you, but there are plenty of us that do work for Fuwanovel, often without any help from the "Fuwa Staff". I feel that these people are just as much staff for the site as the Forum mods, and I would like to take a moment to recognize them. For starters, Zakamutt has almost single handily been carrying the Fuwa Gazette for a while now. He puts in a lot of effort to his Status posts and recruitment posts, aznd has been looking for a team fruitlessly for a while now. Not only does he work as the head of the blog, he also does a ton of the lifting on the official Fuwanovel twitter account, typically posting news at the same moment I do. He also just so happens to be the newest member of the Facebook team and has only screwed up one post to date. Next up is another blog staff member. JuicyYuuji just started today, but nothing caught fire and no deaths were reported. Indications are he will do just fine. Down is considered one of the Fuwa Staff thanks to his moderation of the forums. He also does some off-forum work in the form of FuwaReviews and assisting in the Fuwanovel twitter account. I made him read School Days HQ, and he absolutely hated it. Despite that, he is moving on to the next review, like a trooper. A true survivor if I've ever seen one. Ryechu reviews nukige and forced me to read ToS agreements to see if we could even post the reviews. Turns out we can. Fuck you censorship. He doesn't just review nukige for FuwaReviews though. He also took on Cho Dengeki Stryker and Magical Witch Diary or something. He also likes Raichu. No man insults Nohman, the third and final reviewer for the FuwaReviews team. He turns out some really good stuff and obeys my every command. You may also know him as Bill Murray, but I know his true name for those curious. Nayleen is next up here. Fuck if I know what he does, but sometimes he breaks things, other times he fixes them. Just depends how much he's been drinking. He does some of the coding for Fuwanovel, so if anything seems broken, you know who to blame. All hail the king of forum spam, Nosebleed. When he isn't posting 100 times a day on the forums, he makes Facebook posts for the page. Usually, he has to go in and answers questions that I reply super sarcastically to. We still await the day when Nico Nico Nii shows itself on the FB page. It will happen. Ryouuuuu/Kyouuuuu might not be able to decide on what his name is, but thats alright. We forgive him anyway. Our resident Facebook Key specialist, if there is Key news about, he is on the case. 99% of my skype messages from him are usually along the lines of "Angel Beats hyyyppeeee!!!!!" Beato is listed as a forum mod, but those pretty game download pages, thats her work. She is the one to usually get those pages up and running. We don't know much of her true nature, but as a Swede, I can only assume she controls Tay like a puppet. dale is the reason you can fap to a high amount of seeds when downloading games. As the owner of the seedbox we use, nothing gets seeded without his permission. A warning to all lolicons. For your podcast needs, look no farther than OriginalRen. Even if the episode count is out of order, rest assured you'll find plenty of interesting things in the episodes. Inner workings of the Fuwa staff, interviews with translators, and discussions with regular members all appear at one point or another. There you have it. Most of, if not all of the Fuwanovel Staff. These guys work off the forums on the real parts of Fuwanovel. Please give these people some thanks and support for what they do off the forums as I feel they are often overlooked on Fuwanovel. If I forgot anyone else, please let me know. As much as I try to keep up with the staff, sometimes someone will slip through the cracks, especially with all the new changes.

Well the purpose of my post is different than this one, and I already made it too I just haven't posted it, but it's nice that these people get the recognition they deserve, and it was because of that that I made them staff badges. Also I was lazy, that may or may not be 99% of the reason (blame Gaben!) I was waiting for Tay to give out the staff badges for these people beforehand though (I told him to but he seems to have forgotten about them. Go send him 100 PMs to remind him of it)

I have 3 Nico SR now: Panda Nico, Cheerleader Nico and Teacher Nico (unidolized) I still want a UR Nico.. one day.. i'm sure.. And i also really want that yukata Nico so badly. But this was still a great draw. I remember this was the first SR Nico i ever drew and now i get to idolize her, feels good. Hey everyone, a while back I gathered up a few members to begin reviewing visual novels. Well, we now have our first review completed and published. I understand. Out of all possible people, you probably weren't expecting me to make one of these. First of all, don't delude yourself. I'm not writing this next to a fireplace with snow coming down outside with hot chocolate on my secretary and the dog sleeping at my feet. I'm in my cold room with the dog barking at the door, probably heard some kind of noise outside, with no drinks or sustainment of any kind and rain is pouring down outside. At any rate, here you go, my very own Christmas Message to ya'll. Merry Christmas. -Mr. Poltroon That ended up somewhat short, didn't it? Let's make up some more stuff on the spot. Like... like... oh yeah. My experience on Fuwanovel and stuff! I found out about Fuwanovel, and Visual Novels, right around the start of this year. What introduced me to visual novels was a very enjoyable game for me, by the name of "To the Moon", I highly recommend you play it, never know when my hitmen might knock on your door. Right around the same time, and purely by coincidence, I also found out about the Phoenix Wright series, another excellent group of games I suggest you play, for your own good health and whatnot. To the Moon showed me good storytelling that could come from this media, while Phoenix Wright showed me the comedy that would later become the reason why I play Visual Novels (I know, terrible reason, though perfect match for a terrible person). While searching for more, because people always want moar, moar, moar, I found out about this website. The first Visual Novel (at least in a truer sense) I played was Ever17. I was very scared, since I am a victim of the altogether too common irrational fear of the unknown, you see? Anime didn't have all that much of a good image in my mind at the time. I later found out my image was spot on, at least relating to nukige. Having thoroughly enjoyed the first game, I proceeded to play the sequel and prequel, and this is where I first used Fuwanovel. I used a walkthrough for Never7, and the first I found was the Fuwanovel one. Moving on, Fuwanovel became my place for walkthroughs. No, I had no idea I could download them here. Wonderful. The first VN I downloaded from Fuwanovel was Little Busters, and for a while, the only one. I fear the unbeknownst to me, I'll remind you once again. Keeping with that logic, I stuck with All Ages titles for a good 5 or 6 titles, it took me nearly a year to get through these. Of course, All Ages eventually ran out (at least those I was interested in), forcing me to try my first "eroge" so to speak, G-Senjou no Maou. Quite a challenge, considering it was my first contact (of my own volition) with pornography of any kind . You may choose to believe this or not, but I'm simply not very interested in matters of copulation. What a terrible topic, moving on. I eventually reached Grisaia no Kajitsu in my quest for mighty loot. I adored it. Like, really, to the point where it made me make my first post on the forums. I always make an account even for one time searches. Simply a pet peeve of mine, disregard it. Let's address myself now, I'm sure you're all itching to learn about my own life, asking questions like, "How much further can he boost his ego?" I'll show you: I'm a 28 year old man with a job at a local sports club (management side, don't ask me to do exercise, pls) which is rather well connected to my family. Great 'friends' with the chief, actually. Two sisters. Two parents. Exempting the older sister (that hater ), we all live together. My family is a fairly happy one, but I've come to think, just how different is it from other, perhaps more normal, families? It's pretty much a free-for-all around here. If an argument starts, younger sister uses up all opportunities to take a jab at the parents, the parents argue with each other and I attack everyone. If we all sit together to eat, making fun of everyone and everything is the norm, usually at someone's expense. And the main thing? The heavy, heavy use of sarcasm. Don't think I'm a wrinkled old grumpy man, this is how I was born and raised, and to be honest, it's plenty fun. I don't know what kind of image that gave you, probably a despicable one, but we're all happy people. I'm a natural pessimist, which when coupled with my usual personality does not produce good results, but what can one do? This makes me what I consider to be a horrible person. Makes fun of everyone, but doesn't get involved himself. Takes a jab at everything, even what he agrees with. Avoids any kind of responsibility, using "I think" and "Perhaps" to escape certainties. A craven to no end. This is who I am, and I'm well aware of it. My family is well-known as a funny one, myself included. That one guy who's fun at parties, but you might not be interested in getting too attached, might you come to understand what's beneath the funny surface. But this is who I am, and I know it well. Self-improvement seems fake and hollow to me. Being yourself seems the best way of life, so that's how I do it. Now... Let's tie this all up with Fuwanovel and finish up. I'm sure at this point only a couple of you have read this far, but worry not, I wasn't expecting anyone to really read this anyway. Fuwanovel is the only forum where I've stayed this long (not even a year yet, huh?). The reason for this is how I haven't been reprimanded much about my manners. I strongly feel that if I can't be myself, I've no place here. And, to be honest, I'm totally fine with not having a place anywhere, I know I'm not a person who's easy to get along (especially on a bad day, lovely). Strangely, though, Fuwanovel hasn't shunned me away like I thought it would, so it's certainly a happy surprise. In the end, thank you everyone, for making me happy (so self-centered ) and letting me feel at ease here. There's a courtesy kind of thanks, and then there's this kind of thanks. They're different, and especially when coming from me, one of them is pretty rare. In episode 14, the roundtable discussion will be a mixture of many random questions regarding your likes and dislikes about visual novels from the 2014 year. What are some translations you are looking forward to in 2015? What were some achievements that were accomplished this year for visual novels? What were some disappointments? These questions (along with more once I finalize a list of volunteers) are just some of the examples for what to expect on this episode. Maybe you want to rant about Sekai Project, or maybe you want people to be familiar with a VN that nobody knows about. This is the place to do it. Most VNs aren't free so you'll have to buy them or torrent them. Most of those we have here on Fuwa, for example Sharin no Kuni. https://fuwanovel.net/novels/sharin-no-kuni-himawari-no-shoujo The ones that we don't have because we don't host licensed VNs can almost always be found on [no linking or mentioning torrent sites] "Nakige" means "crying game", and is basically a VN that gets pretty sad at some point (not to be confused with "nukige" which is when a VN has more porn than story) while "utsuge" is when the entire VN is depressing, pretty much from start to finish. There is an English patch for the first arc as far as I know - they're actually almost done with the whole translation already, but you can read the prologue arc first if you want, it's pretty stand-alone.

For me, it was Takumi from Chaos;head. Such an unreliable narrator and so whiny, his delusions disrupted the flow of the story and infuriated me to no end in the beginning because I didn't understand why he was acting so erratically. Of course, his delusions get addressed later on in the VN and we learn why he was acting this way but it still didn't alleviate the initial impression I got from this character. It's a bitter pill to swallow but things do start mellow out later on until we get to see Takumi grow as a character. Haven't read Fate Stay/ Night yet, but from what I saw in the Deen adaptation I can already feel the ominous wind coming from the hate that Shirou will get later on in here.

All right everyone, here's the deal, I honestly hate getting upset about certain things, but it's come to my attention that some of you (whose names I will not name in this thread) have given off the impression that for some reason winning prizes or the prizes that were chosen for this giveaway are not to your liking. Normally that's fine, but in all honesty do you really think it's okay to complain to me about it? Have you ever gotten a gift from a family member or friend and said to their face, "well shit dude, this is a dumb gift and I don't want it?" I hope not. Before joining this activity, I gave you a list of what was available, where I tried (to the best of my ability) to pick a variety of prizes that would cater to all types of fans that are popular here on the forums of Fuwanovel. That being said, Keisuke (who contributed a pool of money to these prizes) and I went out of our way during the holiday season to get these things, and for some reason (though I seriously hope it isn't the intention), people are upset about how the prizes work. Some of you are extremely grateful, and for that I thank you! To those of you who aren't, perhaps I am reading it wrong, but the way some people have been coming off as of late is starting to annoy me. You literally had to do nothing to signup for this giveaway; if you don't like a prize, pass on it. If you don't want it, sell it on your own time or give it to someone else, but don't spit it in my face how upset you are and how you "want a different prize because you don't like what you got." Seriously, be grateful you are even getting anything at all. Again, I am sorry for getting upset, but a lot of people have come off with a negative vibe on how this giveaway is run, and it's annoying me. I hope it is a serious misunderstanding and I apologize if it is. With that, thanks to everyone that participated in the giveaway. Skip fast, skip to next choice... those are nice. I also cut of the voices a lot, so voices in the backlog are valuable resources! If we're talking about features in VNs in general and not necessarily during gameplay, I'll name something I really like in VNs: music menus you can actually listen to like playlists. Like, you can listen to a particular song as many times as you like by clicking the repeat button once. And then it can move on to the next song if you click the repeat playlist button. So far I've only read Da Capo II and Fate/Stay Night with that great of a music menu, though.

I always thought of archtypes as ways to make characters more expressive, even if that expressiveness is usually exaggerated, but that to me has always been part of fiction (fiction ≠ reality) so I never found it weird and more often than not I find it charming. I never thought of it as something defining. I guess it boils down to how you relate to the characters, in your case you prefer relating to more realistic character personalities (or just personality traits in general), and that's fine, but when I'm reading a story for example I always put myself in the prespective of a narrator of sorts, I don't try to put myself in the place of any of the characters and so I don't find it easy or difficult to emphasize with them due to their personalities, I'm just an outsider looking at the events unfold, I don't imagine myself as a friend in their group or as the protagonist or whatever, and I also don't judge how likely it would be for those characters to end up together in real life since i'm reading a fictional story (a good story would explain why they got together too). More often than not I find myself attracted by a character's actions and/or backstory rather than their personality alone and I definitely hardly ever relate to something as superficial as an archtype (personality ≠ archtype) There is an issue with how certain characters end up being defined solely by their archtype, and I can't help but agree on that front, but those characters that are solely based around an archtype usually aren't exactly the most well written, the good ones have a backstory and have relevance to the plot other than being that archtype alone. So I guess you could say for me archtypes exist for the sole purpose of expressing (more vividly) particular personality traits that are much more toned down in real life. Also if you start putting things in your head like "this character is a tsundere/kuudere/etc" it'll become much harder to like characters because you'll start judging all of them based on that criteria and that to me is unfair. I just judge a character by how they progress and forget about things like archtypes and the sort, because an archtype doesn't define a character alone and if it does then that character was not written properly. A story with perfectly realistic characters (personality wise and setting wise) sounds like it'd be pretty average and boring in my opinion, and this is coming from someone who loves slice of life.

You might want to check out something by Key, for example Clannad or Little Busters. The only thing is that most of Key's games don't have H-scenes (sex scenes) and when they do they aren't very good. If you specifically want something with H-scenes, try Sharin no Kuni or Grisaia no Kajitsu.

The Narcissu stuff is very good, especially if you like Utsuge. Yume Miru Kusuri was also my gateway drug into the VN scene (pretty ironic, huh?). Stay away from Nekoko's route if you're looking for genuine story, but if you like dirty sex scenes that would be a good choice. Kirimiya's route is also pretty dirty, but there's a really good story to match it. I personally liked Kana ~Imouto~. One of the heroines is in the hospital a vast majority of the time. Really good story. Then there's the obligatory G-Senjou no Maou mention, because it's just that good.

A Drug That Makes You Dream has really interesting heroines to pick from, and each of the routes are quite fulfilling and interesting. Also, each route has several erotic scenes spread through out. This seems to fit the bill. I also personally recommend this VN as it was one of my first and got me into visual novels. That said, if you want a story focused on sick/hospitalized people, Narcissu is a great read. Be warned though, Narcissu is really really sad and has no choices or sex scenes.
