I would really like to see an English patch for innocent bullet, i have looked a little bit but found nothing. Does anyone know if there are any plans or a current project going on for this novel because i would really like to play it. Is anyone else waiting to see this translated? Rewrite and possibly Planetarian are the only games here I could recommend from Key in good conscience considering what he seems to like... And there's plenty of stuff I'd recommend before that. Looking at this list and the fact that Steins Gate seems interesting for you, I'd recommend these 5: Comyu, I/O, Rose Guns Days, Swan Song and Remember11.

The Death Penalty: Those who are killed in the game, will be unable to play future games for a set number of games (to be determined). This is an especially useful strategy for removing those pesky people who might be a tad closer to winning then you are. Not at this point you're asking "But what if I'm not able to play in this game and have to wait for the next one? Surely I'm at a disadvantage right?" Well you would be if it wasn't for the last change. Morphogenetic Sorrow: During each game, those on the waiting list for the next game can cooperatively opt to change one vote during the course of the game. They have no knowledge of what this vote is or what other members are doing, they simply change it from what it originally was. Those playing will not know who's vote was change. Players can try an convince others that it was their not intention to vote that way. Of course, it can also be used as an excellent excuse for a particularly nasty vote. Neither Little Busters, nor Clannad really fit your description. Here's the thing, Japanese interactive stories tend to focus on a deep narrative and you can't have a deep narrative while also having plenty of choices. Well, you CAN but it takes far more resources than is worth it. Visual Novels tend to have fewer decisions, and your decisions affect which one of 5 or more "routes" you head down. Western interactive stories seem to focus more on choice and consequence, and player agency. The ability to make decisions which affect your environment and your situation in different ways. You get less of a central narrative, but more of a user defined story. I'm not sure you'll find what you're looking for in Visual Novels. Maybe there's some untranslated ones out there, but not translated in any case.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane is beautiful. Definitely read it. There are a handful of amazing fantasy authors I can't recommend enough: - Scott Lynch. There's a lot less magic in Scott Lynch's works than in a lot of fantasy, but there's also a lot more style. His heroes are not magicians: they're the best con men you'll ever hear about. His quantity of output is definitely a little iffy (I think he had several years of writer's block), and his only series is incomplete, so if you don't like reading incomplete stuff, maybe don't go for him... But if you can accept that you're not getting the whole entire story right now, nor for a large number more years (maybe not ever), you should go start reading The Lies of Locke Lamora right now. - Brandon Sanderson is the king of modern fantasy, IMO. His world-building is bettered perhaps only by Terry Pratchett, but unlike Pratchett, his works are serious (which I don't say as a negative - just a difference). Putting magic into the world, and making it systematic and believable, is his forte - it may not sound like much, but if you see it in action you'll probably appreciate it. He is also ridiculously prolific, so if you like what you read, there's a hell of a lot more out there. Mistborn is a good starting point to see if you like his style. My favorite is probably his novella The Emperor's Soul, which you can easily read in a few hours. - Brent Weeks has one complete series (The Night Angel trilogy) and one nearly-complete series (Lightbringer) under his belt. I've talked about The Night Angel earlier in this thread, but basically, it's extremely compelling (he just pulls you through the pages), and it's the only series I can recall reading that gets better with every chapter. The ending is gorgeous. I just finished the first Lightbringer book yesterday, and it's looking like it will be even better than the Night Angel series - I think he's picking up some of Sanderson's influence in terms of systematizing his magic, because Lightbringer does a way better job with magic than Night Angel did.

Well, I don't necessarily have a prejudice against him, but I did find it funny that every time I drop a VN I later find out he had something to do with it ;P Some people get a kick out of getting sad or depressed over this kind of story. Would you look at that, I don't. What you say is reasonable, and given Key's record I am fully prepared to finish it, because being sad doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. It's just that I heard some things which led me to conclude that the end can't exactly be considered good. And again, what you say is reasonable. I tend to enjoy the worst crap so long as it's got some kind of comedy. That's how I got through shuffle. I just didn't find Cross Channel pleasant in any meaningful way which let me get through the initial drag. Alright, like I was told before Cross Channel gets better as it goes, I really have to give it a retry. I got through that ending alive, all that I've really got left is Nekoko's and I really need to get to it, so I can get on Nosebleed's good side.
