    Lil' Kuro's Corner

So I was thinking what thread could I possibly make where I can make myself useful (supposedly on discussions tho) but the forums already have a long history so figuring out what could I possibly add to enrich the forums ended in me banging my head against the wall nothing. So yeah I decided to put my skill to use. Namely, making graphics stuff like wallpapers, signatures, and timeline covers. So yeah anyone can request and I'll do my stuff. Do keep in mind that I'm just a lolicon mortal human so I do get tired so don't kill me if I need to rest. <insert a puppy with teary-eyes pic> Here are some samples: Please go easy on me. ======================================================= Decided to organize the opening post for better understanding. After discovering that sitting down is a form of oppression, statues of old English authors are oppresive to minorities, that disease names are triggering and that greek mythology should require trigger warnings for students, this seriously (and sadly) doesn't even faze me anymore. We now live in a world where being offended automatically seems to give you entitlement to have it your way. We really need to colonize Mars soon and leave these people here on Earth.

    Nosebleed O/////O

I hope one day to achieve this same love you embrace for our beauteous Nosebleed. I've written a sonnet which is entirely my own material and nobody else's in recognition of Nosebleed's unparalleled glory: Shall I compare Nosebleed to a summer’s day? Nosebleed art more lovely and more temperate: Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And summer’s lease hath all too short a date; Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines, And often is his gold complexion dimm'd; And every fair from fair sometime declines, By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm'd; But Nosebleed's eternal summer shall not fade, Nor lose possession of that fair Nosebleed ow’st; Nor shall death brag Nosebleed wander’st in his shade, When in eternal lines to time Nosebleed grow’st: So long as men can breathe or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to Nosebleed. He's also translating a nice porn game, which is nice.

    ACEN: Ryukishi07

So I figured I'd make a post here just to give some information on Ryukishi07. He is one of the special guests at ACEN (Anime central) this year. I'm a terrible writer but figured I'd give some information/highlights that I got from one of his panels today. Also, I'm crazy tired so I'll clean it up later. Tomorrow, I'll either update this post or just add a new one about his new game announcement. So first, some pictures. Please forgive my photography, I don't have very steady hands. Here is his panel slideshow (yeah.... he only had one slide) Here are a few pictures of him. Again, unorganized list of interesting points, will be cleaned up later. The main discussions of his panel was related around his writing of Higurashi and Umineko. The writing style that he uses is a bit different than most. Instead of creating outlines and having expectations for his endings, he has a more fluid free writing system. He will often write without having any idea how he is going to end his stories. One of the biggest influences for writing was his friend BT. He would write out ideas and provide them to him to see how he would respond. His goal was often to create surprise in his staff and readers (As I'm sure any of us are aware of if seeing any of his work). An interesting story that he told us was that when creating Higurashi, he was actually very influenced by the film "Independence Day". At one point, he was actually trying to find a way to make them fight aliens. (thank god he didn't). Apparently, there is a section where Keiichi and Rika are preparing for a fight, and that was taken from a scene in that movie. (Never seen the movie... I know, I'm horrible). Ever since then, he has a strict rule of not consuming content when writing. He is a big zombie fan... though not so much Japanese zombies. He likes the way they portray zombies in the West. Also.... He's not apposed to the idea of creating a game where zombies go for girls panties. (Yes, I'd play that too) With characters, he always has 2 sides to them. The example he used was Rika. She comes of a young, cute, and super sweet. However, when alone, she is actually quite different. He also avoids telling how characters feel. Instead of telling you, he likes to convey their emotions and motives through their words and actions. He feels that by doing so, it builds a better connection as it is your interpretation. It also prevents having a very solid baseline so he can throw you for a loop later. An interesting question that was asked was about the setting for Higurashi. He got the idea for the setting after reading Seishi Yokomizo's "The Village of Eight Graves". (That was a interesting fun fact). Now for some Umineko information. (FYI, It's on my to play list, so this is even more of a text dump than anything else). Umineko was fun for him because of the fact that there was so much feedback after each game he came out with. He actually would go through all the feedback he could to see how people were responding to his game. Umineko actually turned into a game for him as well. As the readers were taken down different paths, he got to enjoy how they responded and created fun for them as well. One thing I found unique was that he actually changed the 3rd game. Originally, there was a character that was introduced in the 5th game. This was actually intended to be the 3rd but he didn't want to drive everyone into despair. The last thing I have was a fun "quote" from his panel. Granted, everything he said was through a translator (my Japanese isn't good enough yet) but it stuck out to me. "The sadistic edge of writing is important". I think this can be interpreted in a lot of ways. He really made it apparent that the writing itself is his inspiration. It could be the sadistic part is the feedback from his audience, or even the content of his works. However, I think one thing is for certain. From what I have experienced of his works, they are amazing and I look forward to giving an update on his new game tomorrow. Hope at least someone found this useful. Please chalk up all errors to my horrible writing, note taking, or poor tolerance for sleep deprivation and alcohol. EDIT: Part 2 Here- http://forums.fuwanovel.net/index.php?/topic/10153-acen-ryukishi07/#entry282310

  19. Employers do try and ensure their workplace is free from inappropriate behaviour, even if things are a private communication. Which is why private emails sent from or to work computers between work colleagues so regularly find their way to court. If you want to behave inappropriately in a private setting, don't use employer regulated communication devices.

  21. I'm not satisfied with the way community-submitted reviews are being handled. It seems like it takes weeks to solve very minor issues like "authorize user to submit a draft", "press the submit button to ok this submission", and "fix this image to display centered rather than as a tile". This would be understandable if deliberation was taking place, or if I was getting feedback to improve the submission. That does not appear to be the case. Either support the feature properly or just flat-out say you're not supporting community-submitted reviews.

  22. I believe there's very little to be gained from scrutinizing personal communications. I think it's invasive and restrictive of personal liberty. Intent is important. It's clear the officer wasn't intending to deride a racial minority. If we give ground on issues like this, then it's only a small step to say that officers aren't allowed to play eroge because they objectify women. And then extend that to government officials, people in positions of power over women, and finally people who interact with women (hint: that's everyone). We should all value personal liberty. Who reported this? It's cowardly. They're the one(s) that should be spotlighted and shamed.

  24. he was not on the job and he was not using department property. the superior he was joking around with was using a department cell phone he was on his day off and using a private cell phone. the problem is either his superior officer ratted him out or some one is monitoring her cell phone and they reported him. my opinion not that it matters is that he was a idiot for treating his superior as his friend while she was working. chances are he knows its a department phone (i cant imagine he wouldn't know that) so the guy made a poor choice in sending a meme to his superior. i don't believe this warranted media attention, i don't believe this warranted punishment beyond a simple reprimand, and i think this is pretty much just outrage culture showing their ass.

  28. Elfen Lied's ending wasn't that rushed, they simply ended it where it should have continued, the adaptation altered it to fit the time slot, so it's actually fairly decent for what it is and provides enough closure for anime only watchers. I assure you Gantz fans would take Elfen Lied's ending over the abomination that was Gantz S2.

  29. Bwahahahahahaha!! I'm dead xD But yes, I am. Before I watch anything gory or violent with a dog in it, I look it up on doesthedogdie.com or something like that. I love dogs especially, but any animal being killed is sad. I don't like it. I don't know how someone can stare at a scene like that with a straight face. Honestly that's the only reason why I hate elfen lied. I also felt the ending was rushed.

  32. You kind of have this in one of the routes in Guilty the Sin: http://www.mangagamer.com/detail.php?goods_type=1&product_code=8 Here's my review of it if you're curious: http://gamesforadultsandeveryone.blogspot.com/2012/10/games-for-adults-guilty-sin.html There's kind of a case of it in Desire when you play from Makoto's POV, but that storyline is mostly pointless/sucky. If you want netori, then a route in Virgin Roster may be up your alley.

  40. Who are you? We're Alternative Projects, translating Muv-Luv related VNs. We have released translations for Muv-Luv Alternative Chronicles 01 and The Day After 02 in the past two years. We are opening recruitment to get more help as we have a larger line-up of projects we are looking to work on next. What are you looking for? TLCs: Able to understand Japanese fluently, and check the original meaning against the translated lines for any lost content. If you are able to suggest edits and line corrections to make it read better that'll be a bonus. Editors: Able to work sentences into a coherent story, correct grammar and tenses, and check the flow of the story from line to line. Some knowledge of the Muv-Luv Unlimited/Alternative universe is necessary, so that you know what you are getting into. Knowledge of military workings and science-fiction is preferable. Hackers/Programmers: Able to help convert text files with Japanese and English text to excel and back, keeping the text format the same. Will need to be compatible with Afhook tool, so if you have some knowledge of the tool that would be preferable. If you want to help us, please write us an e-mail, [email protected] Something that we really care about is consistency. We are looking for people who are willing to commit to the project in the long run without pulling out halfway through. That said, we do understand that this is a hobby and that IRL issues will always come first. We appreciate open communication on issues and concerns in the team. Current projects: Adoration (ML Chronicles 02's sidestory, currently in progress) Our planned project line-up: ML Chronicles 03 and 04, Haruko Maniax, Ayu Mayu Alternative, Total Eclipse, Schwarzemarken (VN and LN). Note: Projects will be confirmed once we have the personnel.

    VNs focused on Netorare

The key is the jealousy factor. The problem I have with most netorare VNs is that netorare is treated as sexual fetish material and the jealousy factor isn't properly leveraged. Good netorare can't be avoided with obvious choices, or there has to be consequences for avoiding it. In other words, it has to be experienced against one's will. School Days is an example of properly executed netorare, even though it was a minor theme.

  43. I recently finished a manga nicknamed KoiLog. It's, like, the funniest most cliche manga ever (SoL/Comedy/Romance/Ecchi), akin to a mere short story standing at only 19 chapters. My absolute favorite due to the lulz, MC being a complete rip-off of TWGOK's Keima, and a story about Eroge (Hey~ I play eroge). 10/10 It taught me how to get a 3D girlfriend!

    Birthday thread

Thanks guys! Haven't been on in forever glad to see I wasn't completely forgotten The Liquid comes from a League player who was challenger and thought it was cool. His name was LiquidInori and since Guilty Crown is one of my favorite animes I decided to be super unoriginal and named myself LiquidShu, have been using it for a year or two now. Just to throw it out there as well he had no affiliation with Team Liquid as they were not part of LoL at the time and I never heard of them until they came to LoL and I got sad.
