Today I have the unfortunate duty to announce the death of the Reviews Hub's community-submission system. If your review is currently being processed by the team, you should be hearing from them shortly, but unfortunately we aren't going to put more time/energy into this process right now. The reviews hub is otherwise unaffected, however, so all of the external blogs as well as our official team reviews are still up and active. Here are the two major points I want to convey: I'm still determined to make the reviews hub work I'm still determined to keep experimenting, even if this one didn't work out If you're upset about this change, I'll try to understand where I'm coming from (maybe that'll help): the stars simply never aligned for this particular sub-project (experiment, really) inside the hub. Despite my good intentions and a lot effort, nobody really caught the 'bug', and the program ended up only making everybody cranky. I've received something close to forty meaty rants about the program (or the hub in general) since the beginning of April, and, frankly, I'm just tired of it. When people you respect start complaining constantly about a project, something has to change. The day may come when this program is rebooted (or just retooled), but today is not that day. Hello there people of Fuwa, My name is Linkman19 (call me Link) and I'm one of the Beta Testers/QCers of Violet Hill. The reason as to why I haven't introduced myself previously here is mainly due to 2 reasons. Firstly I didn't have an account on here until just recently and Secondly Real Life has been a pain recently what with exams so I fell out of contact for a while with the rest of the team, but fortunately now I'm back and up to date. So after playing 2 MG games with Cody(kelebek1), Andreas and some other people that I don't know, I decided to give solo queue a try again. First(and only) game yesterday I ranked up from Silver 4 straight to Silver elite master, I suspect that being top fragger on our team on the first MG game had something to do with that. Today I did 2 games and carried silvers. First game:

I really don't see the need either, to be brutally honest, I find Nosebleed's and Eclipse's signatures to be obnoxiously eyecatching enough (especially Nosebleed's contrast with the new Dark Fuwa theme, at least Eclipse's has alpha for half of it). I'm only on a 720p monitor which might be part of the issue, but those things take up about 8% of the screen, and 20% of the actual browsing area of the page.

Hmm come to think of it I might have something I can help with. Depending on what you're exactly planning to go with the VN, I could help with the GUI design. I've made some programs with GUI for school stuff but most of them are for formal stuff, like designing for a payroll/database/etc but I did have one experience where I needed to design for a game. The main idea was rock-paper-scissors but my partner and I made it into something like a turn-based game with elemental skills or something. I'm not making any promises but I might be able to help in making buttons or something if time allows it and if I can actually do it. Please don't count me in or something yet. If I'm sure that I can participate in this, I'll let you know. And those are some seriously good achievements in writing. The farthest I got in writing was essays and reaction papers lol

It seems like Tyranobuilder has a good UI and they said it was intuitive so learning the language shouldn't be that hard. They have their own Scripting Language (TyranoScript?) that's supposed to be for VNs so I think you can learn it with some effort. Or there are some free and willing people here that can do it for you. I'm pretty sure I've seen some people here that should know programming or something. At the very least you have the willingness to do it and you said you can write. I assume that you already have an idea of the story or something so it should be a something of a start. If you want some quality work, like from artists for character sprites/background/etc. then you might need to pay since the good ones are usually on commission. I'd like to say that I can help you with editing/proofreading but it seems you're already good enough to do that. Also, I don't really have that much free time in the future. I'm not sure if I can help you with anything at all but I'm rooting for you. Go and say what you honestly think about your skills. People would likely join if they see that you're quite capable. Maybe throwing in some achievements might help since they are proof that you can do something.

I'm really sad to see this go as I was hoping that this would have incentivized reviewing VNs, but if things don't work out, they don't work out.

I am generally opposed to features that crowd out actual discussion with redundant static content (signatures). If it were up to me, images probably wouldn't even be allowed in signatures. In addition, I'd possibly restrict signatures to one line of text.

People have different tastes I guess. This humour really appeals to me (outside of the constant tsundere abuse, that is).

How very convenient. I was thinking about making my own little deserted signature thread for quite a long time now. But then I think making the thread itself would be too much of a hassle for me. This thread solves the problem pretty well. I will probably take one of the requests when I'm not lazy. Here are some example of my previous work so people can expect how bad the result will be.
