Shinsekai Yori: Eclipsed's Episode Commentary&Thoughts Compilation
Chronopolis reacted to Eclipsed for a blog entry
Welcome to my Shinsekai Yori Episode Commentary&Thoughts Compilation. These thoughts were posted back when Shinsekai Yori was the anime of choice for Fuwanovel's Anime Club back in February '15 and have been compiled here for everyone's convenience. *Keep in mind I am no expert reviewer & analyzer or anything; I just watch and then say whatever's on my mind *Sorry Flutterz; I was gonna edit all Squeara typos to Squealer but too lazy. Also monster rats -> queerats, and whatever other terminologies that had mutliple translations (ogre / fiend / akki) Naturally, this will contain spoilers~ Episode 3 Episode 4 Btw, LOL at my amateur theorizing back in Episode 2 ~~~ Anyway, Rijin criticizes the crew for not obtaining permission to venture this far out, but apparently the even worse crime they committed was 'listening to the words of a horse demon" which breaks one of the Ten Platinum Laws of their Ethics Rules and so he seals their powers (I'm interested into the mechanics of that) and then prepares to escort them to the Ethics Committee for their punishment. Unfortunately, the crew gets ganked by Monster Rats along the way, and surprise surprise, Balloon Dogs do exist & Rijin dies protecting the crew from the explosion. Episode 5 - 7 That random sexual moment b/w Saki & Satoru when they were captured though. Cheating on Shun already, Saki? xD Again, I'm interested in how their abilities are sealed and unsealed. Saki was able to unseal Satoru's powers via hypnosis + remembering his mantra or so and that was pretty interesting. Regarding PK powers in general, wow. Satoru completely rekt the Monster Rats while he still had mana stamina. Really shows how devastating the war in the Dark Ages must've been since PK users had free reign to use their powers against each other. I also wish to see Saki kick some ass one day. Sucks her powers remained sealed for the remainder of this arc. ~~~ Regarding Squera, not sure how I feel about the rat. It seems he only assisted Saki x Satoru because of mutual benefits rather than him being a legit friend. Especially during that scene where he was 'captured' by enemy Monster Rats where the anime totally portrayed him to be a double agent so I was confused when he was still helping them, especially at the end when they are running from the Giant Hornets. But everything works out in the end~ ~~~ That ending though. "Yay everybody reunites and the Giant Hornets let us go despite being ordered to take us in (thanks to Satoru saving the general earlier I presume). We'll go back home, unseal our powers, and since Rijin died, there's no way anybody will have known we were in trouble for breaking the Ethics Rule via talking to that magic horse!" NOPE! Looks like shit is gonna go down in very soon. I'll be looking forward to it ~ Episode 8 Saki x Maria ~~~ Something's obviously up with Shun. For a moment I got annoyed by his distant shady attitude + breaking up with Satoru (he was such a nice boy 2 years ago; remember the starry river canoe moment he had with Saki? That's something only nice guys would do.) I was worried that he was up to no good/doing illegal shit/will become a villain, but by the end of the episode it's hinted that he's doing the whole "I'm going to play hero and shoulder the burden all by myself to protect everybody" thing so props to him. The 'burden' of course being the horse-demon-lies incident 2 years ago that the crew thought they had covered up, but apparently it took this long for it to come back and bite them in the ass. Episode 9 ~ Later back at home, Saki inquires her parents regarding Shun to which her mom freaks out and pleads with Saki to stop prying because "she doesn't want to lose another child" which she immediately rephrases (finally) to "I don't want to lose you". I felt for Saki's mom at that point ;-;. If I was Saki I might've totally just dropped everything to keep the peace for the sake of mum. But Saki being Saki will obviously continue to pry. ~ Random flashback childhood Saki is soo adorable goddamn!! ~ SLKFJASKLFJ FRIGGEN' MARIA!!!!!! I'M WATCHING THIS WITH HEADPHONES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHY YOU MUST SCARE ME!@# Maria reveals that she and Mamoru went to tthe off-limits courtyard at their school and that the 'storage containers' contained... the Impure Cats!@# They heard one of their teacher's voices amongst the adults... "Must take care of it before the transformation into a Karmic Demon is complete"... "He was so talented. It's such a shame" Welp I guess that means Shun's the poor sod who is turning into a Karmic Demon and therefore must be eliminated. Damn shame indeed. Saki gears up, says her goodbyes to Maria and then heads out in the middle of the night to go look for Shun. And guess who what she runs into!!!! Episode 10 Episode 11 ~ Mamoru. Typical whiny pathetic baby character who cracks when the crew start digging and conclude that Ryou =/= Shun based on their skewed memories. You may have noticed by now but I HATE these types of characters. They are the bane of my existence. Chaos;Head's Takumi. Hated him. Accel World's Haruyuki. HATED HIM. Mamoru is no exception. Though later on, Maria says something to Saki that finally made me realize something about whiny characters Saki still wishes to pursue their lost memories of Shun but agrees to not involve Mamoru in their investigations anymore. Oh and YESSS, more Saki x Maria <3 <3 <3 ~ The head of the Ethics Committee (revealed to be Satoru's grandmother) summons Saki / Satoru / Maria. Uh oh. The resulting banter among the trio from this revelation was very much appreciated in the midst of all of this tension Episode 12 Episode 13 Episode 14 Btw does that mean no more Saki x Maria...? NOOOOOOOOOO ~ The Education Committee play the whole "WTF is this blasphemy you speak of?" card but Tomiko-sama finally steps in and vouches for Saki. The once-scary Education Committee suddenly sound so passive. Wow, Tomiko-sama really does have HUGE influence 0.0 Saki has some heart to heart with Tomiko-sama; she is revealed to be 267 years old because her PK powers allow her cells to idk divide and not naturally deteriorate/something about Telomeres and that's why she has so much influence- with age comes experience, wisdom... Tomiko-sama offers to protect Mamoru x Maria should Saki be able to bring those two home within 3 days otherwise the Education Committee will act on its own to execute the two elopers. Saki meets up with Satoru and they begin their search for M & M. Hey look, it's Saki x Satoru vs. the world again. Looks like this is the default couple -_- Episode 15 - 16 But alas, despite the initial friendly re-introductions, immediately you get the shady vibe from this guy and it's subtlely revealed later as to why. So I guess all of my suspicions in the earlier episodes about not to trust this guy *are* right soo yay me xD Meh, don't really care about the lore regarding the Monster Rats. Yada yada yada we're building our colony by merging with other colonies and we got our hands on old-school technology/concrete and we incapacitate our Queens because they are too paranoid blah blah blah one day we'll mount a large scale attack against you Kami-samas ~ They track down Squnk with the help of Squeara and his questionable methods. Squnk gives them a letter from Maria and OMFG WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Maria's letter was an official "Good-bye don't come looking for me" NOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME MARIA T____________________________T ~ WTF KIND OF NIGHTMARE IS THIS SAKI?!??! ~ No leads on Maria x Mamoru. One day remains... will they be able to find them...? Saki x Satoru start talking about how they'll rebel and elope together and meet up with M & M and then Saki all of a sudden bursts into tears ;-; Soo uh, Saki x Satoru confirmed? Episode 17 Satoru also grew into a fine young man. His VA actually sounds decent when he's not playing whiny baby characters >.> But I had to take a moment of silence because this time skip meant that they went 12 years without seeing M & M aka they never found them ;-; (unless they'll randomly pop up in the next 20 minutes and start reminiscing about the good 'old days) ~ Fk. Do the creators of this show have a thing for rats or something? Why does this show feature Monster Rats so much?! I want Ogres! Karmic Demons! Anything but RATS!!! Not going to go into Monster Rat lore cuz I don't give a damn (quick summary: colonies going to war with each other and having drama about who attacked who) but it's interesting how they have do paperwork to go to war with each other >.> And I'll be honest, if the Monster Rats at least looked half as decent as Kiroumaru I would've liked them better. Yes, appearances matter. Besides, it's not like Squeara had a good personality to contrast with his ugliness. It's annoying to see Squeara silver-tongue his way through everything, but w/e. ~ Committee of Badasses: ~ What. The. F#@$%? The Giant Hornets led by Kiroumaru were wiped out by Robber Fly lead by Squeara?! Obviously this fking annoying rat has something up his sleeve, but I am totally disappointed in this show for having the Monster Rats be the 'grand conflict'. Episode 18 ~ Denial Mode #1: At the summer festival, Saki has halluncinations of Maria. That means Maria's still alive right...? The Monster Rat Department has more meetings as to how the Robber Fly Colony could devastate the all mighty Giant Hornets. Conclude based on how effortlessly it was and the lack of damaged weapons could only mean one thing: they have a PK user on their side. But how...? ...Maria...? Mamoru? No way..!!! Why would they possibly side with Monster Rats? Revenge on society for exiling them?! Are they gonna be the big baddies?! But that theory is quickly debunked by Tomiko-sama saying that that was impossible since they have the skeletal remains of M & M returned by Squeara that were thoroughly, 100% checked and confirmed to be theirs so it is for absolute certain that those two are dead. Denial Mode #2: Wait, what? Those are really M & M's bones or is Tomiko lying to cover up that they never found M & M? Or maybe Squeara's just really good at coming up with legit-looking remains..? ~ Yup, the fking Monster Rats are the 'grand conflict'. 0/10 this show sux trololol GOD WHY RATS.?!@# Hopefully this arc is done by Episode 20 and the remaining 5 can deal with more interesting things.. Sorry, I just don't care about the rats >.> The Rats mount an assault during the Summer Festival. It feels soo weird how everybody was caught off guard and how even the elite fodders get taken down by fodder rats. Denial Mode #3: A flashback of Maria at the end of the episode with a 'Good bye' plastered all over it? Definitely means she's alive and that we'll get a reunite soon right? Episode 19 ~ Fodder girl pulls a Maria & volunteers to stay behind with wimpy fodder lady while Saki x Satoru escape to warn the village about the Ogre. RIP. I didn't really take time to think about 'who' the Ogre could be. I merely thought it would be a fodder Ogre that would be explained like 'due to the Monster Rat attack, this person became traumatized so severely and thus became an Ogre". Episode 20 ~ Anyway Saki x Satoru cleverly escape the Ogre by using a mirror/reflection. A gunpowder-igniting monster thingy from the river then attacks them and Saki x Satoru are separated (I thought it was weird she didn't try looking for him after regaining her ground >.>) Saki makes it back to the village and informs about Ogre. Wow seeing the 267 never-aging Tomiko-sama wrapped up in bandages made me feel bad x.x. Tomiko says that if there really is an Ogre, then all hope is lost because apparently even though she lived through an Ogre attack in the past it was just luck/a complete miracle. Dw, Saki can manage xD Episode 21 ~ Shisei easily gets ganked by the Ogre and Saki x Satoru flee. They meet up with some other guy who was tasked with eliminating the Robber Fly colony earlier but failed to do so because of said Ogre. And then another shocking revelation: Squeara's grand plan? Raise an army of PK users by stealing babies. Well, shit. I was disappointed earlier for the 'grand conflict' being the Monster Rats, but this plan of theirs made things 100x more interesting. But then that made me realize something. That Ogre isn't Maria. All of those Denial Modes where I was clinging onto hope that Maria was still alive was all for naught. The Rats' plan was to raise an army of Ogres, right? So how'd they get their first one? From M & M's child. And I bawled like a freakin' baby for quite some time upon finally realizing that. Maria's DEAD. She's gone forever. The remains they mentioned before is 100% proof of that. Killed by that fking Squeara and her child raised to become the ultimate weapon in his conquest. Goddam that got me depressed. Like c'mon, you guys elope specifically so you guys could continue living, not die to these rats and then have your child raised to become their weapon!!!! FK!!!! Ok I gotta stop now before I tear up again. Ahem ~ I'm surprised I was impacted by Maria's death this much (or rather, the realization/confirmation of her death). I usually just shed a tear or two for character deaths aka Shun, but man, Maria's was just soo tragic. It was probably a combination of me liking her character so much and then having to go through several episodes wondering if she truly was dead or not clinging onto hope even when facts are presented and then BAM the harsh reality is confirmed. Avatar: The Last Fuwabender*
Darklord Rooke reacted to Eclipsed for a blog entry
Avatar: The Last Fuwabender* *Note: There will be no Avatar: The Last Airbender references from this point on.* An avatar, also known as profile picture, is defined via Google as "An icon or figure representing a particular person in computer games, Internet forums, etc." In the case of the Fuwanovel Forums, avatars typically represent one's identity, or at least represents whatever appeals to them personally at that particular point in time (such as a favorite character, "waifu", etc). Many users of this forum have different ways of utilizing their avatars and through years of extensive research I have been able to group them into the following: The Eternal: users who have had a single avatar since the beginning of their creation. ie. Zalor The Loyalist: users who have a single unique avatar that they change to variations of. Can change to another avatar, but typically returns to the original unique avatar ie. TarzanofVersailles The Bandwagoner: users who change their avatar on a whim depending on their current mood or preferences which can change over time. This can branch to Settlers who very rarely change their avatar to a new one ie. Clephas, or Travelers who change to a new avatar relatively quickly ie. Eclipsed (pre-Louise era) The Identity Crisiser: users who cycle / rotate their avatar on a frequent basis to a select few unique avatars while typically being unable to settle down on any particular one. May also become a Bandwagoner at times. ie. Kaguya-sama Eternals are the most powerful class of avatar users. Their very existence is so great, that if one were to ever somehow undergo an avatar change, the resulting shockwave can very well destroy the forums (an example being the fateful Taypocalypse of '14). Loyalists are the second most powerful class of avatars. They are typically very fond of their avatars and only choose variations of said avatar when changing avatars, or in the case that they do choose a new avatar, they tend to revert back to the original unique one eventually. Bandwagoners (subclass: Settlers/Travelers) are the common folk. Settlers are more powerful than Travelers. The Identity Crisisers are the wildcards. One can never fully determine if a Crisiser has finally settled on an avatar or if the Crisiser will continue their neverending quest for their one true avatar. ~~ TL;DR, here are all of my avatars since the beginning of my time here on Fuwanovel (times are approx.; not all images from an era are displayed.) Lurker Era (Sept) Date A Live Era (Sept - Nov) Kotori Era (Dec - Jan) <Love Live> Date A Live II Era (Jan) Charlotte Era (Feb) <Machine Doll> Frenda Era (Feb) <Toaru Majutsu no Index> Louise Era (Mar - Present) <Zero no Tsukaima> What avatar class are you? ~~ Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more Eclipsed's ramblings!1 point -
Gentle Jena (With Original Lyrics)
Darklord Rooke reacted to suikashoujo for a blog entry
This is a few days old at this point, but seeing as I'm just now creating this blog, I figured it would be nice to start off with a link to a project I'm really proud of. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKl5hnGsI3M This is Gentle Jena from Planetarian, with lyrics I wrote myself. I had a lot of fun with this, and I may do more similar projects with VN BGMs in the future. The lyrics and some explanation of said lyrics are in the video description, if you're curious. By the way, I'll probably do my first review soon. I haven't decided which VN to do it on yet, but look forward to it, I guess.1 point -
I'm not going to argue about what defines a VN here. To be blunt, the fights over that issue - which were fairly pointless - were bad enough in the forums. That said, I am going to explain why VN terms tend to be so fuzzy and hard/impossible to pin down. 1. We are basically defining a medium that is new to us (new being a relative term, lol). 2. Pseudo-Japanisms like charage, moege, nakige, etc. are generalized terms that represent a certain type of structure and purpose to individual VNs. For people who like to nitpick, these terms really aren't fitting, because they are basically umbrella terms that contain a lot more than you'd think. 3. The Japanese otaku-media tendency to turn everything into an archetype creates an illusion of a 'universal unity of ideas'. Of course, there are a lot of different reasons besides these, but these are some of the more obvious ones. However, perhaps the one that bothers people the most are the pseudo-Japanisms that I and some others use and have been helpfully defined (inasmuch as that is possible) by various people. I should first explain what a pseudo-Japanism is. First, as a prime example, a visual novel is a term that came from the Japanese originally, but it is one we took and redefined for our own purposes. While the term originated in Japan, it is rarely used over there and the fundamental meaning is slightly different to them than it is to us. This is similar to the pseudo-anglicanisms like 'マンション’ that litter the Japanese language. Similarly, while the term 'moege' was coined in Japan, the actual meaning of the word changed immensely just in the past few years, as it was absorbed and reshaped by the perceptions of the Western community. Anyone who has played a 'straight moege' like Shuffle or Da Capo will understand what they are, but once you start expanding into the various other types that expanded from moege to birth new child genres, people start getting confused. To be blunt, we've gone and created a new specialist genre that pretends to be from Japan but is really almost wholly our own, because the meanings are not, strictly speaking, matching to those in Japan anymore. Of course, in a narrow sense of the word, some are the same - such as nakige and utsuge - but in the broad sense of the word, the concept of the 'charage' is almost entirely one we created to define a type of VN that branched out and away from the VNs we define as moege. In other words, the big mistake a lot of new and old people in the community make is in thinking these terms mean the same to the community in Japan as they do to the people here. These terms are ultimately ours, as they have been irreversibly shaped by our perceptions of their meaning in the way they are used. For the sake of those who don't have as much experience as I do, I'll explain the Japanese tendency toward archetyping everything. First, you have to understand that Asian culture in general sees imitation as a compliment, rather than a failing or an insult. Second, Japanese thinking is hyper-conservative, despite the rich sub-cultures that have bored holes into the base of their society. This extends to otaku culture as well and is encouraged by the commercialization of new mediums and genres as they become popular. In Japan, it wouldn't be wrong to say people 'like what they recognize'. It is this that leads to archetypical characters, settings, and stories being so dominant in VNs, anime, and manga. Of course, we see the same thing over here... but it is a much slower process. In just two or three years, we can see what was new becoming an archetype in otaku media. Over here, it tends to take ten to twenty years. It is simply a function of how our cultures work. Americans tend to dislike obviously repeating themes, and as a result we have a lot of encouragement for 'creativity' and it is harder for something to become an archetype in the first place, because we move on so fast. The Japanese find something they like, then they repeat it over and over until it becomes a tradition. Modern technology has just exacerbated this tendency, when it comes to otaku culture, lol. Edit: I should also note that the natural tendency of the Japanese is to polish things until they shine, a tendency that is reflected in their high-quality domestic products. To an extent, we can see that with VNs, as companies tend to prefer to produce a solid product that is similar if not identical to all its previous products. Unfortunately, the limitations created by that are unsuited to entertainment in general, which is the big reason why great artists and writers will all of the sudden suffer from a deep drop in quality (usually because companies want them to reproduce exactly the same VN as before, lol).1 point

"Princess Evangile 2 - The Trap" - Random Review - Ojousama to Himitsu no Otome (Trial Edition)
Captmalone reacted to Satsuki for a blog entry
Moonstone is not an unfamiliar name for visual novel players. Everyone should know about them by now, with all of those successes they got from Imouto Paradise - the heaven for siscon, Princess Evangile - the popular title which English version was just released months ago, and Gi--nah, who cares about that thing. And, at the end of this month, on June 26th, Moonstone Honey - their newest branch company, will release their debut title - Ojousama to Himitsu no Otome. Of course, I'm really interested curious about this title, for an obvious reason that I will talk about later. Now, toward the game we go! SYNOPSIS The first game by the new label Moonstone Honey will center around Yuuri Shinohara, a crossdressing yet kind boy who is attending an all-girls school. Since he’s the future heir of a famous fashion brand for women’s clothing he is expected to know a lot about the subject. But he’s actually weak around women and doesn’t really understand them, making it impossible for him to inherit the fashion brand. And so his family suggested (read: forced) him to attend a high class all-girls school, called Magnolia Academy. But even though he tried to live a quiet school life, for some reason several girls tend to gather around him… CHARACTER 1. Shinohara Yuuri Protagonist. A shy boy that was forced into an all-girls school against his will. Same as every trap protagonist ever, he really disliked the idea of cross-dressing at first, but gradually "understand the joy of being a girl". 2. Himekouji Haruka "Ahaha, arigatou." Yuuri's next-seated classmate, and his first friend at school. A friendly and energetic girl who seems to be pretty popular among the students. 3. Kamimori Airi "Don't be so tense like that. We are going to live under the same roof from now on after all." The friendly and somewhat playful dorm-leader, in charge of 2nd year students. She has never interacted with boys before and really want to know the feeling of talking, kissing and doing ecchi things with them. Yup, that's what she said. 4. Shirayuki Yumina "Yes...I will try my best...to stop crying..." Yuuri's 1st year kouhai. An extremely shy girl, with the way-too-soft voice that seem to have a lot of love respect toward Yuuri. She is a crybaby and pretty clumsy. Despite that, she is still very popular at school, although she herself knows nothing about that. 5. Saionji Saya "It's fine, just do as I say. Got it?" A genius 3rd year student, who rarely come to class but still manage to stay on top of the school. She is respected by every students and even teachers. When she is in good mood, she loves to drink tea in the courtyard. STORY The game started, as Shinohara Yuuri - in a girl's school uniform - after talking with the school guard, stepped his first step into his new school - Magnolia Girl Academy. While walking toward the staff room, he started thinking about what led him into this situation... 10 days ago. A sudden phone call from his mother totally wrecked his life. He was told to transfer to the new school - Magnolia Girl Academy - to cure his shyness toward girl (since he wouldn't be able to inherit his mother's fashion company like this), and also "get a girlfriend" why he was at it. He was hesitated at first, but decided to just yolo, for himself, and for the future of the company. However, there was one problem remain: how could he get into an all-girls school? Of course, this was when his older sister Akira - a pro in makeup - came in! After a short while, she successfully transformed Yuuri into a super cute girl, making him almost fell for himself! ".....Eeeeeh!?" ...And that's what happened. Done with the transfer procedure, he headed toward his class. After the awkward introduction, he went to his seat, and the next-seated girl - Himekouji Haruka - right away started a conversation with him. Having his shyness in the way, he had a hard time talking with her, especially when she "aggressively" invited him for lunch, then guiding him around school hand-in-hand after school. It's fine, right? It's absolutely normal for two girls to walk around school while holding hand, right!? Evening. Just when he was about to go to sleep, he heard a knock on the door. After some commotions due to him being in the middle of changing clothes, the girl walked in, introducing herself. She was Kamimori Airi - the dorm's leader. She simply just wanted to check out the newest member of the dorm, and tell him about the dorm's cleaning up duty, which unfortunately fell right onto his room this week. They talked for a bit, then called it a night. Next day, after school. While walking along the hallway, suddenly, Yuuri heard a crashing sound, and a girl's scream. He then hurried to where the sound came from... "Uwaa...I'm soaked~..." There, he found a little girl, soaked in water, with an empty bucket lying on the floor. As he tried to help her, she stared at him with a weirdly red face while murmuring "So beautiful...". She then panickingly ran off, after learned his name. That evening, she came to his room. She introduced herself as Shirayuki Yumina - a first year student - and wanted to thank him about earlier - while keeping coughing all the time. Just as Yuuri tried to ask about her health condition, she panicked again and ran back to her room. However, it's not Yumina, but Yuuri himself that he should be worried about, as he ended up getting the cold from Yumina and stuck on his bed for the next day. Evening, Yumina visited him. After apologizing for a while, she offered to help him with wiping his body. Despite worrying about his disguise, he couldn't fight back against her teary eyes, and accepted her offer. And the yuri night began. "I don't know why, but my face became hot when I wiped your back..." Later in the night, Haruka and Airi also visited him, and thus, meeting Yumina and having a short chat with her before everyone went back to their own rooms. Next day, he completely recovered, and was invited by Airi to take a bath together after cleaning up the dorm. And once again, he failed to deny the invitation. They talked about a lot of lewd things, and surprisingly, his disguise somehow stayed undiscovered. Weekend. Coming back from home after reported his status to his older sister, Yuuri spotted a strange girl drinking tea in the courtyard under the moonlight. He joined after her invitation, and learned that she was Saionji Saya - a 3rd year student. Lunch time next day, he talked with Haruka, Airi and Yumina about Saya, as he just had another tea time with her in the morning. Spotting Saya in the crowd, he invited her to have lunch together with the group. During the meal, the group told him about one of the unique tradition of the school - Engage - where 2 students exchange their rings and become a couple. "Ehem...In Magnolia, there is a tradition called Engage." He thought to himself: In the future, maybe I will also be joining this event as well? However, is it fine for a boy like me, to "engage" with a girl in a normally girl-to-girl event like this? The End (of the trial). . . . . Wow. Nice work Moonstone Honey. You did a really good job on copying almost everything from Princess Evangile. The same "boy-in-ojousama-only-school" setting, the same "onee-sama" system, the same exchanging item (changed from rosary to ring) system, and they even have an event called "Best Engage", which is pretty much "Chants de Noel" in Princess Evangile. The character design is also a big copycat, which Haruka is pretty much Rise's clone, with almost same appearance and personality. Seriously, Moonstone Honey? This is your debut title, can't you at least make something a bit unique by yourself? You think that people won't notice the similarities between your game and the game that you were promoting all over twitter 3 months ago? Too naive. Let's talk about the story. Different from Princess Evangile, this game seems to be a H-based moege. The trial is pretty short, so I may be wrong, but I just couldn't smell any kind of drama from the game. Along with heroines's personality, chances are you will be filled with nothing but ichaicha for the rest of the game. I mean, I couldn't even be able to find any SFW CG for Airi, both in the trial and on their main page. And she clearly wanted the D, right off the bat. Yumina also seems to be unknowingly on heat every time she speaks with Yuuri. Geh. Btw, it's just my impression, but the story in the trial just feels a bit disconnected somehow... GRAPHIC They brought the damn skirt design from Princess Evangile, changed the color and threw it in here. They brought the damn Rise's character desi---Oh, I did talk about this earlier, right? They unnecessary sexualized Yumina and Haruka's pajamas. I don't know that much about girl's clothes, but I'm sure that's not how they work! I mean, look at them! Look at Yumina's pant! "I'm coming in. Hmm? If I'm not wrong, you are..." That said, the art is still nice in general though. MUSIC Unnecessary usage of sad music when Yuuri got a cold. Come on guys, it's just a common cold! Do you really need to insert the music that sounds like he just found out about his testicular cancer like that? Other than that, the BGM is fine. Or should I say, normal, not good not bad. VOICE I have nothing to complain about character's voices, though I do think that Yumina's voice is a bit too soft, making her sound a bit...weird. CONCLUSION Princess Evangile was a big success for Moonstone, but Ojousama to Himitsu no Otome - or should I say, "Princess Evangile 2" was a big mistake for Moonstone Honey. Normally, this game should be able to get away as a decent fap material. However, under the big shadow of Princess Evangile, I don't think this game will have a chance to see the light of the day.
