I had to delete Update4.pac because it rendered 2/3 of the videos unwatchable (it would just play 1 second of the audio from the video without doing anything else), but it would be a bit of a bummer if I couldn't see them at all. we should have noted that for the videos, they do not play without help from CCCP or K-lite, which is annoyin'

Yeah if that happens and your system is in Japanese Locale you should also try changing your format and location to Japanese (should be the other tabs next to the one you did for the locale in your settings.)

You need to change your time format / calendar format whatever it is called to Japanese too I think. Uploading pics soon. Okay so this is in Finnish but should still help. That blue circle is the place where you can change your Locale to Japanese so open this window from control panel. (just for you to know where I am) Then change that thing in red circle to Japanese.

The fandisc for the entire series actually brings all the characters - plus a new cast of one protagonist and three heroines - together, including extensive after-stories for both the first and second generation of characters (Gakuen being the second generation and the others the first). The new cast is based in an era fifty years after the events in the second generation, when most of the characters are elderly or deceased (with the exceptions of near-immortals like Suiku). The three heroines are the endlessly greedy baphomet (demon) Meti, the shy chimera tapir-girl Lettuce, and the dryad (whose name I didn't bother to remember). Overall, like most of the entries in this series, the standout aspects are the writing quality and the comedic character interactions. It is especially hilarious to see the casts of all the VNs (including the nukige) from the first generation interacting with one another to bring about the setting of Gakuen. Since the main story doesn't change at all (except for h-scenes) depending on which heroine you pick for the new protagonist, I went with Meti... and didn't regret it. I've always liked weird/insane heroines, and she definitely fits the bill. That said, the story in this VN is structured really weirdly, due to the fact that the protagonist and his friends are basically looking into the past and interfering with it... and if you aren't paying attention, it can be easy to miss important details. However, that is the mark of a well-written story in any case, as a detailed story usually means a good one, though not always. There is one VN in the series I haven't touched, other than the Alraune nukige... the mermaid one, but that is supposedly based after the events in all these games (though I only got that through some vague hints) so I am not all that focused on it (in total the games so far have covered over seventy years of history, after all). Final thoughts To be honest, I never expected to see this much detail out of what is essentially a low-cost series created by a company that originally produced only nukige. From a visual perspective, the VNs aren't excessively impressive, and the backgrounds are reused in each game where appropriate, for instance. Nonetheless, it is an impressive series of games purely from the perspective of writing, and if you don't mind feeling like you want to puke at some of the H scenes... this is a great choice for an experienced reader who is bored with normal romance and moege romance.

i tend to dislike that way of thinking, just cuz it's a nukige doesn't mean it's automaticly bad, but i have way less experience than you so i guess my opinion doesn't really matter matter

1.What is your favorite route? Is there a generally best considered or main route, or are there wars over which one is better? It seems as if generally Unlimited Blade Works is considered the best route although I personally like both Fate and Heaven's Feel as well. All the routes in the game I believe failed to really use the characters to their full potential. I feel as if all of the minor and side characters (including the other servants) simply did not get enough development and it did end up affecting the overall stories in a negative way. It's still a great game mind you but is definitely not without its flaws. I would probably say my favorite route was Heaven's Feel which conflicts with the fact my favorite characters are Rin, Saber, and Kotomine. I personally feel as if HF had the best story even if it was a bit rushed towards the end. That said the most action was definitely in UBW and the fights were pretty enjoyable in the route overall. If you've got nothing else to do you could always try Fate Hollow/Ataraxia generally people have mixed opinions on it but I personally found it enjoyable. 2.Are the animes any good? The only thing I've heard of Fate/ stay night before playing the game was my friends discussing the anime. The Light Novel and the prequel anime Fate/Zero is pretty good but the original fate stay night anime has problems with mashing everything together and being created by Studio DEEN (known for bad adaptations and quality). The UBW film is flashy but no substance. UBW tv series has somewhat poor pacing in the second half but still enjoyable enough. I personally believe that the Heaven's Feel route would generally work best as an anime/movie to directly follow Fate/Zero...Generally though the shows are watchable but will vary in enjoyment based on personal tolerance and level of enjoyment.
