I had promised these guys a long time ago that I would do a live stream of me playing through the game much like I did for the common route back when I was really big on visual novel streams. I had also promised I would announce this on Fuwanovel for anyone that is interested in watching me stream or interested in watching previous videos of my stream. I cannot understand why people think that at all. The original Majikoi was really focused on the "hanging out with friends"-atmosphere, thanks to the slice of life and it's utter comedic self-awareness. S on the other hand is kind of a mess. It feels like the people in the office couldn't decide whether they wanted to make a sequel or a fandisk, so they kind of half-assed both. The previous main cast has kind of outlived it's usefulness and stays around solely for the sake of staying around, while more than half of the new characters didn't even get route treatment.

So this is something Ren and myself were discussing in regards to his Hoshizora and my Little Busters review. One of my biggest pet peeves in a VN is drama that just happens with no warning or hints, and completely changes the way the character in question acts. The best examples I can think of are Komari in Little Busters and Kotomi in Clannad. In both, and I'll keep this as spoiler free as possible, an event takes place, seemingly minor and inconsequential that suddenly changes the character into someone completely different. We get no hints of the sudden personality change, or no warning. It feels like it just happens out of no where. Think of a tumblr girl being triggered by the smallest thing, and that is what it sometimes looks like seeing these characters. Compare that to say, Kurugaya's route, or even Haruka in Little Busters. The drama in those routes does get hinted at, and does not feel totally out of left field. Is this a case of poor writing, or me not reading well enough to notice the most subtle of detail? Or is it something some of you can ignore and get past out of love for the character, story, or do you just like being caught off guard in that manner? How do you feel about a VN with Sudden Onset Drama Syndrome, or SODS?

The new Utawarerumono anime is not an alternative adaption but a sequel set between 15-20 years after the original. It is based on a VN called Utawarerumono Itsuwari no Kamen which is a sequel to the original Utawarerumono VN. It only came out a month ago so it obviously doesn't have an english translation yet. A lot of people are saying that it's is completely unrelated to the original but this isn't true and they're probably just assuming it based on the first few episodes. While you probably could enjoy Itsuwari no Kamen without having either read the original VN or seen the original anime I do not reccomend doing so. Itsuwari no Kamen pretty much assumes that you've experienced the original Utawarerumono and therefore doesn't always explain things you'd already understand if you've done so.

- The music: I'll read any visual novel if the music convinced me of that. - Depressing stories: I like them, and I like human drama in general. Sometimes small things do catch my interest for very simple reasons, like the idea of the story, or a design for a character, etc... and I decide to play the game just for that.

I'll probably end up playing video games too. I have Corpse Party: Blood Drive ready for the Halloween feels~.

I guess it's supposed to turn on some people, but remains completely superfluous and inauthentic. People do various things during sex; Yes - they cry, but usually from joy (not because it's painful), laugh or stay calm and quiet. But for the love of gods, that kind of crying described in most vn's doesn't really happen; there are other, more important things people are usually occupied with than the pain (which lasts very shortly anyway)... unless the girl's forced to have sex, which would be completely justified, since it's more or less rape いいいいいいいやあああああ！ダメダメダメー！ここじゃダメー！ Oh, the joys of japanese quality writing. What if no one cries? Yeah these vn heroines are wimps and crybabies. Losing your virginity is like a freaking bug bite if not like a injection shot at most if there is proper foreplay or lubrication. If the girl is using a tampon or inserted a vibrator in their vagina before, they have a heads up with sex penetration and somewhat adjust/recreate the angle on where they should feel good. Also, the hymen breaking is rather off the charts in vns too. It's not suppose to look like a period for gods sakes... I think most of this is just ignorance of the human anatomy... Not sure if more guys are h-scenes scenario writers but if you're a woman, you should not get this wrong at all!!! The only time it's really painful is if the guy forces it on you without foreplay or you're not relaxed while doing it (aka you're very stressed or being raped). - CeruleanGamer on female anatomy. =P

My mom walked into the room to tell us the fodder is ready, while we were all sitting around the room, doing something. She then looked around the room and noticed a bra on the floor. She proceeded to take the thing, left laughing and we tried to figure out who to put the blame on. Even today, I still don't know who took the bra (it wasn't me. Even if I did something like that, I wouldn't leave it in the entrance of my own room) or even where it came from in the first place, because it was too small for my mom's body size. The only options are, that one of them either snuck into the house's combined laundry room or someone brought it from home. Which one of my friends was the enemy of all women? Was it a ghost? Did my waifu from the future try to break into the third dimension? And how the fuck did I not notice the thing lying there at all?

well in the end since its night i just throw it in her backyard so problem solve not my problem anymore \/

With Halloween coming up, what are some things you guys plan on doing?! I have a yearly tradition since highskoo to dress up as a vampire & go feast n' tricking on unsuspecting prey, but with this backlog of VNs maybe I should consider staying home this time to read

Have you played Majikoi S? I think most people agree here that S is better than the original. KoiRizo is ok. Art is amazing and the user interface is so friendly, you might get an orgasm. The "gestures" make playing that game so much smoother and easier due to all the mouse shortcuts you can do. I wish all VNs had it. But if you hate forced drama, it might not be your cup of tea.

: P RE: Broken Blog Bots -- It's not actually a problem on our end, it has to do with the feed pushed by the InfiniteCurry blog. AKA: the bot wasn't broken. I turned off that blog's feed for now and deleted the extra posts, so -- in theory -- peace has been restored to the galaxy. Also -- fixed a broken "Recent Topics" sidebar. No idea what went wrong.

Actually, who's responsible for the english translation? Are they doing it in-house? It looks okay, indeed; relatively acceptable, although it's not perfect and could benefit from more polishing. Honestly, there's not much to talk about translation yet, until the original is released and someone compares both versions of the game.

One time I lost track of time that really freaked me out. Every Wednesday, I had a mandatory class that I could not miss.. or I would fail. So it was a Tuesday, and I had a really long day so when I got home, I ended up taking a nap because I was so tired. I woke about 3hrs later that evening, and then started talking to an online friend. All of a sudden, I looked at my clock and saw it was 7pm and I flipped out! I was telling my friend, "OMG, I missed my class!! I'm going to fail! Noooo!" ..then my friend, confused, asked me if I was on drugs or something. Ahahaha I'm not sure why, but I thought it was 7pm Wednesday, which meant I would have missed my mandatory class. My friend reassured me that it was still Tuesday and so I calmed down. Lol... I guess my nap tricked me into thinking I slept a whole day.

My favorite female casts are usually the ones I don't actually want to date, because they feel so much like real friends to me. That applies exclusively to casts which interact a lot with the player and amongst themselves, in order to form an immersive group experience (Grisaia, Majikoi or Deardrops). In conclusion, I am unable to order these characters in any sort of list, because I like them all equally personality-wise. I could only rank them for superficial reasons, like appearance, voice or route quality, which kind of defeats my point. tl;dr: If I like all heroines to a point, at which I don't want to romance any of them, then it is my favorite cast. If one girl is just better (or worse) than all the others, I can't consider the entire cast as favored.

It's really not a good idea comparing Clockup's nukige with their serious games like euphoria or Fraternite. I knew quite a few 3DPDs who said this phrase to me. There is nothing illogical about a woman desiring such an act. Heck, if it comes to the characterization of broken girl's, I guess eroge is pretty damn close to reality in this regard. ^^ Much more realistic than cute girls liking a hetare, haha xD (I don't like this particular Clockup game, btw)

wow wow let me explain first I have that right !!! , I didnt think her character was bad just really reaaaaaally badly developed, there was a lot of potential in her route but sadly it wasn't exploited enough or i should say at all, most of her route was about Misha :/ Honestly the part when you are in the roof watching the fireworks and the dialogue you have with her, that part was one of the best scenes in the novel, sadly it was the only one

Stories where the originally simple artist heroine suddenly revealed as a prodigy and Japan not being big enough for her anymore and Europe is the next stage! and has to travel for herself in x amount of years before returning to your side... I never liked those endings, but holy shit they are overused. Everytime some heroine has a sliver of talent in something, then you have this ending coming.

Anytime where a character or the story gets warped because of fetishes or some other contrived reason. Stuff that is too cookie-cutter. Most anime tropes when applied directly: tsundere, yandere, etc. It's like a waste of text, stop talking. Huge tits/skin tight uniforms. Okay, no. Just no. This is not how you do proper push-ups. My PE teacher kicked me around for doing push-ups like this. This shit doesn't help you build any muscle at all, it just puts an insane amount of pressure on your forearms for no real reason. Proper push-ups are done with your arms aligned with your torso so you can have a natural posture and evenly distribute your body weight. Also, getting tired from just one set of 10 push ups and 10 sit ups, r u srs? Even Hinako counted up to 100. What a fucking worthless pleb. And last but not least, there were no idols in this! Anitore-ex confirmed hitler. 0/10 would rather watch Hinako sleep again.
