Are we doing this? YES WE ARE! So, hi fuwa. Im now 500(501) in and being a fuwa "elite" and all I thought it was the perfect occasion to make a post like this. I have been here for around 11 months now so maybe I should have made this post for my 1 year anniversary as Eclipsed did, but hey im doing it now. Although necroing a dead meme is simply not enough for me so im doing it originalrun style and going to thank people here. You see, when I joined I had nothing, I was a bum on welfare, I also felt like shit in every sense of the word, I was shit, the world was shit and my situation was overall shit. But, there was exceptions, for example Visual novels and the community that came with it. So here im sitting now nearly 12 months after, I got into the education of my dreams, I have actual energy, I have a cute girl im seeing atm and my appartment is actually clean for the most part lol. I also got over a pseudo social anxiety I build up from being a borderline NEET at that time that I finally got rid off, which helped me start some new and old IRL relationships up again. The community helped me a great deal to make me reach what I wanted and overcome my fears. Suddenly I had people I could talk to anytime if I felt like shit and I had whole skype chats that wished me luck with my entrance exams, which gave me so much motivation and willpower. So thanks fuwanovel, I love everyone of you, here is to another 500(499) posts! Oh, before I leave Im gonna make this short notice for people I have talked with, again, im sorry if I didnt include you, you're a part of this community as well and that means that I love you to some extend no matter what I have said to you beforehand <3 tl;dr fuwanovel helped me a lot and I love you all @madvanced: dude are you me? Wow, all that Nep-Nep! But it's a pretty solid library, I can vouch for almost all of those games. Vita has so many fun games! I liked the first XBlaze VN. It's not amazing, but it has pretty impressive visuals and it's quite entertaining. Out of curiosity I actually compiled a list of all the Vita games I have, feel free to judge my tastes. (And my dedication) Bolded titles are games I can wholeheartedly recommend, the ones I loved the most, if anyone is curious.

I would at the very least suggest people read Rinne's route before the Kanae route as it opens a different set of mysteries than the Nemu route. Kanae's route is the true route and has all of the answers, so reading that first will render every other route redundant.

The VN I mentioned above is slated to get a translation from Mangagamer sometime in the future. However, if you don't mind untranslated... Houkago no Futekikakusha is perhaps the most obvious choice. That VN... is about as dark as they get without straying into guro. In terms of levels of despair, it even makes Swan Song look pleasant. Futagoza no Paradox is a bit different... it is a Cthulhu-related mystery/horror/thriller with elements of science-fantasy. Devils Devel Concept I'd suggest for its unique 'daily life'. Saying it is dark is correct, but the protagonist doesn't have the right set of emotions to feel 'gloomy'. Vermilion Bind of Blood applies, being one of the few vampire VNs that doesn't nerf vampires in any way and also isn't a nukige. Muramasa... is probably precisely what you want. Jingai Makyou is a bit different, but it still fulfills your request (actually, anything by Nitroplus prior to Sumaga is worth it. Bradyon Veda is intellectually gloomy, though it is perhaps a bit over the heads of about ninety percent of all humanity. Tokyo Babel might apply, because it is post-apocalyptica combined with Biblical apocrypha in a fantasy setting. It is also slated to be localized. Baldr Sky (either the first two or the two Zero games) would apply. I/O probably has some potential for you. Izuna Zanshinken is bloody, violent, and all about crime and retribution (not justice). HOTEL. is an utsuge based in a dying world. Midori no Umi is... unique. End Sleep is straightforward horror mystery, with echoes of Umineko but a more straightforward concept. Owaru Sekai to Birthday... is a mindfuck plus science fantasy based in the same world as Futagoza no Paradox and by the same author.
