Every tier after 225$ should just evaporate. Fans shouldn't even touch them... That's how unfair they are. 1,000$ tier should be like 350$, 5,000$ one should be changed into 1000$.... and the most expensive 7000$ one should be 1,500$ instead. I'm not saying give fans "items" for free, but at least at viable prices. It is calles crowd-funding, but that's just pushing it over the edge. If they want it to succeed they should change the higher tiers + add new ones. They had over half a year to organize this kickstarter and that's what they came up with? One word: disappointement. If they think that fans are dumb enough to give them pure money for almost nothing they're wrong... (hopefully) Even though Libra is worse game, the amount of work put in their KS by devs+localization company is outstanding, the amount of tiers is also amazing, the same with fairness of them, and they changed a lot of things according to users feedback. They deserve to be funded.

Oh no! Games get dropped by fan translators at all sorts of progress levels for a huge variety of reasons. Complaining about not getting these free fan translation patches is one of the most obnoxiously entitled things you could do. Don't do this.

I had to read the title about three times to make sure I didn't get the wrong idea I think this is something that happens to almost all of us at least once. A lot of users here stumbled upon the VN genre completely on accident even. If I had to point out the most random story, I'd say it was when I was browsing /h/ a few years ago and found some Katawa Shoujo CGs with Emi and thought having sex with crippled girls seems like a cool game idea this looks like a really good game, and then I found out the title and played it and fell in love with it, even though Emi didn't end up being the best as I initially expected and Hanako won me over.

I feel like you're taking a really idealized approached to the situation that's simply unrealistic. Maybe people shouldn't treat it like a pre-order platform, but it's a simple fact that they do and Sekai Project failed to cater to them. This is their fault more than it is anyone else's, they aren't giving people what they want through the service. It's for that reason this campaign is under-performing. And when you launch a campaign for a project that launches just a month or two from the end date, you aren't aiming to fund that project, you're aiming to recoup its costs. This is a very important distinction. Granted, I actually don't care at all if companies want to use Kickstarter like that. I don't give a crap about the sanctity of kickstarter or preserving its original purpose, people should be free to use it in any way that benefits them, as long as the consumers are getting a fair deal. But I look at this project and I can't help but feel that Sekai Project is just phoning it in, trying to recoup as much of the costs as possible. The customers don't like the value they're getting for the upper tiers and also sense SP's lack of sincerity, and they're responding accordingly.

They're all of fairly similar length so what you read in Tsumugu's route is the same amount of text you'll read in other routes. They're also all shit.

Yes, I'm one of those people who tend to just skim through H-scenes but ironically i am still strongly a part of the "any censoring H-scene content is pure evil" club

Danganronpa 2 has been licensed in English and is available for sale in the West, that's why the previous translation project for it was dropped. You're very likely to get a DMCA for this if you proceed, just saying. I'd suggest investing your time in franchises that aren't licensed in English already.

I'll be backing it sometime tomorrow or Friday, depending on how much money I can rake in with work... but to be honest, even I did so much work to cover the crap I needed and wanted during the holidays my funds are pretty dry. Sadly, because I did that, I actually cleared about two months worth of contract work, so I can expect to be able to make less money over the next few months because of that. Some of my contracts won't get me any money for the next six months because I cleared yearly projects that make up the entirety of my deals with those companies... Setting up my nephew's college trust fund and health emergency fund drained me pretty badly, lol. Edit: The sad part is that I just completely eliminated any chance to put my brother in my debt... since I essentially set the trusts up in such a way that he and his wife can't touch them, lol... I guess I'm an uncle before I'm an older brother *sighs*

Honestly, I'm worried about the Kickstarter as well, but there's no reason to take money away from a successful kickstarter to this one. Hell, if it fails, Sekai Project learns from this and they improve in my eyes (or they'll keep doing the same thing). Believe me, I want it to succeed and a lot of this community does as well, but having another competitor advertise their game isn't ideal for Sekai Project.

Gahkthun is niche in the niche, so I am rather pessimistic. Same for Kara no Shoujo 2 - which is superior to most of the top-rated novels in the list - but never sold any good.

As some may have noticed, both this and the project thread have been renamed to reflect that we're going to keep working on the series. How far we'll go depends on the others, but work on A-2 is beginning, while A-1 has hit some bumps that we'll work out eventually.

Amazon JP doesn't ship computer software outside the country all-ages or not. Also I think it doesn't ship most of the 18+ stuff like wall scrolls etc. but sometimes it does. It's kinda weird what 18+ content it allows and what not.

I really like the art style of this game, you're doing a fantastic job so far and when I have the time I'm going to read up more about your project and keep my eye on it for when it's finished. Nun looks terrifyingly omnipotent! The art has very good quality to it.

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll be sure to check them out! I never realised I could just go to the Japanese version of Amazon (I shop the UK version all the time) and order from there! My main problem will probably be that I have to remember to calculate the VAT I'll be forced to pay. /sigh It really is beautiful! I haven't really looked at what a VN looks like as a physical copy since the one's I own are all digital. But I did imagine in order to play more VN's legally (I'm not comfortable torrenting anything) I'll have to order some from Japan so I actually have the game to use the fan-translated patches for. That VN looks interesting to me and catches my eye from its packaging. I'll have to look it up!

Rise and Chiho are very possessive and I absolutely hate that trait on heroines. Every girl should be just like Ayaka, the fucking assassin, walks away with the guy, do their little night time escapades, giving absolutely ZERO fucks whatever the other bitches say. Now that's what a smooth operator of a heroine does, not bitch and moan like Chiho and Rise do all the time.

Katawa Shoujo on reddit. People were spamming "OMG! You get to bang crippled chicks in this game, get it now!" With my irl job involving social medias, this immediately stood out to me as to why reddit was going crazy with this so I had to play it myself. Also I was looking for Civilization/Age of Empires type of games or of similar genre and gameplay and one of the top results linked me to Sengoku Rance. Possibly one of the best vns I played with gameplay. Last but not the least, how I discovered my first VN: Ace Attorney. It was the peak of internet meme rage and the Objection! meme was being spammed on the internet. Due to my curiosity, this led me to playing Ace Attorney and several years later I'm so addicted to VNs that I am nearing my 1,000 VN read count.

These threads never gets old Hmm, I´d say Midoriba from Shuffle. His jealousy towards Rin, hilarious comments and silly shenanigans makes him an awesome supporting character. My favorite Midoriba moment is the sincere way he asks: "Hey Rin, can I beat you up?" When Rin´s harem kicks in for real. Such a good friend Also, on that note, Mayumi is another awesome supporting character from Shuffle! (Mmm, Heterochromia..!)
