CeruleanGamer's 1,000th post! Look at this spammer...
kingdomcome and 12 others reacted to CeruleanGamer for a topic
So I finally reached the 1000th post club. God what a spammer! I've only been an official member for 6 or so months but I have been lurking as a guest forumer for about 2 years now. What forced me to make an account? Well, I had a terrible stalking experience with an old forum back in the day and vowed not to visit social sites anymore, but finding a job in the social media marketing field last year kinda pulled me back in again to be a huge socialite on the internet. So, I decided to pull away from the fear and embrace being a crazy internet spammer socialite once again. And Fuwanovel forums made me feel right at home. Every member has been nice to me, like a typical VN protagonist being sincere to his virgin lover's first time experience. No negative experience that I can think of so far. It's awesome when I have a work-at-home job because I can fool around and play VNs more than someone who has to drag their ass to the office and listen to their boss nag at them all day. All of a sudden, I found myself making fuwanovel one of my official homepage tabs because it's an awesome resource for a recreational activity that I spend almost the same time as I do with work and replying/posting at least 10 times a day. Anyways, I will make the obligatory thank you, appreciate, kudos, "whatever the fuck you call it" thread for the people who helped me get here and made my fuwanovel experience much more lively. If I forgot to mention you, please don't hurt me. I love you with all my heart! @Tay: For putting up this site together and also not nuking our precious hangout spot to oblivion for too long during maintenance. @Zenophilious: Very helpful mod plus we have one thing in common. I reread Fate Stay Night/Hollow Ataraxia more times than I could count with my fingers. @Nosebleed: Thank you for Lilium x Triangle. For some reason I end up playing the entire thing again after you guys did the English patch. Also for keeping us people who gave up on Nisekoi long time ago updated with the whole “ordeal”. @Kaguya: Shikkoku no Sharnoth was a great read. Thanks for posting an info thread about it. @KosakiFag: Thanks for keeping us updated with Alicesoft translations and games. @Palas: My official "favorite member" of Fuwanovel. That's all that needs to be said. @Deep Blue: If I had to name another favorite member in this forum. It would be you, no doubt about it. @Funyarinpa: Sora is the best girl. This is the only time I will say it. Hope you are happy now! @Fred the Barber: I see you like a senpai in these forums. Please, take care of me senpai! @TexasDice: Stay classy cowboy! @Jade: Almost always present whenever I visit Fuwa chat. Not sure if you’re stalking me…or is it the other way around? @Ceris and @The Striker: Hard to find our kind here as Hyperdimension Neptunia fans. Glad there are you guys! @Nashetania: For owning me so hard as a Princess Evangile fan. Kudos to you. @DarkZedge: When you see someone with a Comyu sig, you know the guy is already fucking awesome. @VirginSmasher: Everywhere I go, you're there. We have an inseparable bond in these forums as if you're my little brother. You are free to call me Onee-sama. @XReaper: For recommending me a couple NTR games that I end up putting #1 on my list especially those done by Elf. @Jun Inoue: I didn’t know one of my favorite side characters in Majikoi would actually exist in Fuwanovel. Also an avid follower like me in the Majikoi A series progress. @OriginalRen: Every time you post something hilarious in the forum, it puts me in a really good mood. Thank you for bringing rainbows and sunshine during my stressful days. @Kiriririri: Your moege passion is contagious... it's like the common cold. Now I need some insulin for too much vanilla goodness intake. @Flutterz: I found myself clicking through your entire Moe Repository blogs because I was mesmerized by them. @Eclipsed: One of my top 3 favorite board mods. No, I will not disclose the rankings. Sorry. @Clephas: For constantly recommending untranslated visual novels and giving me a push to learn Japanese. @sanahtlig: I always found you on many forums I visited and your reviews have been helpful. @Canicheslayer: You liked my posts more than anybody in this forum. I think more than a 1/3 of my likes came from you? I guess we agree on many things and for that I thank you. @Kawasumi: You like my posts almost as much as Canicheslayer. Both of you combine make up almost half my likes. I don’t know what’s to like about me? I’m just a spammer. Also PM me if you need some more NTR doujin recommendations. @mitchhamilton: Is this your name in real life? Btw you’re awesome! @Stormwolf: I agree with many things you say in this forum. You are very critical with your preferences and sometimes it’s hard for people to express that, yet you do it with ease. @Decay and @Rooke: I like it when there’s at least one person who disagrees with me and present valid arguments and making me see the other side of it. Sometimes, it’s hard to find people like you guys because all they do is just troll and spout nonsense but on the other hand, you both are very calm and respectful. @Valmore: Your posts are top quality. Keep me entertained, now and forever. @Satsuki and @MiKandi Japan: For delivering the news and keeping us updated with Kyuuketsu Hime no Libra. Really, I am excited with this whole thing! Now if only that Iris route would be implemented... @Rose: Seeing your Wanderer sig makes me want to play Ragnarok Online again. I played a Wanderer during War of the Emperium a lot. @Chronopolis: First person to ever message me about having an interest with NTR. Hopefully I converted you to the dark side. @EcchiOujisama Your Eiyuu Senki tips were helpful and it’s nice that I have someone to talk to about the game I really enjoyed. @Kurisu-Chan: You will always be my #1 waifu no matter what you say, Darling! @Ryechu, @Down, and @solidbatman: Thank you for all the amazing FuwaReviews! @Tyrael: I will read all your reviews from now on word for word. Please don't be mad at me again. @Dergonu: All of a sudden, I end up liking you a lot. All this heartfelt feelings… what should I do with them? Ahh! What are you making me say! You idiot! Pervert! Stop! Do I need to confess in front of all of Fuwanovel that I have a crush on you? It's embarrassing! /tsundere And for the rest of you Fuwanovelians: Thank you for keeping this whole place fun and friendly place to be in!13 points -
Wanted to pop in and give a big THANK YOU to those of you who have supported RD and helped to spread the word. Kickstarter and other crowdfunding campaigns can be very tricky. Not only do they rely on the creator(s) to push and help spread the word, but backers as well. Backers are the lifeblood of these campaigns. We read and take into consideration everything that gets posted on the campaign page. And yes, we could certainly use your help to further spread the word. Be it a tweet FB post, carrier pigeon, etc. Show and tell the outlets that you frequent regularly that it is something that you feel passionate about and that their readers will be interested in hearing about. It's a team effort. We have members of the team who are primarily focused on Root Double while my primary focus is on our current releases (Strawberry Vinegar, No One But You, Rabi-Ribi) and upcoming releases for Q1 2016. That's not to say that we aren't pushing the campaign, we have distributed news about the campaign's launch (https://twitter.com/sekaiproject/status/684464856435527680), plugged it in a couple interviews, and have been fairly active on social media in regards to further promotion of the campaign. We have also generated some pretty cool new backer rewards, and have been steadily posting campaign updates. We want to see this one blast past its goal just as much as you do. We are still a relatively small publishing/lic. outfit and not even one month in to 2016 we have three releases in January plus the Root Double KS campaign ...not to mention several other titles on the horizon. It's a lot titles to be working on simultaneously and by such a small, dedicated team. Sure, it's not an ideal timeframe to be working on so many projects at once, but sometimes you have to work with what you've got and you can't always ask the development studios to wait while we release "Game X" ahead of theirs. As you can imagine, that doesn't go over so well. ;P So if there are outlets that you feel that we should be speaking with, or ones that you frequent on a regular basis, please, by all means let us know. I will happily reach out to them to gauge their interest. Overall, we love hearing from you and just redesigned our own forums too (http://forums.sekaiproject.com/). Not only do I welcome you to speak with us or ask me questions here or on our forums, but you can also reach out to me directly on Twitter. I love speaking with my fellow peers about games and other related topics. It's all for THE GREATER GOOD! Now back to pitching and sending out some more review keys. Yours truly, Chopped Liver ;35 points

Okay guys, so I asked one of my Ever17 Gamefaqs acquaintances, Funchal99, to personally request Kotaro Uchikoshi, whom you hopefully all know as the writer of the Zero Escape games and co-writer for Ever17, to spread the word about this Kickstarter himself, and that worked out well he's made a post on his Facebook and Twitter, so it'd nice if you could like/share/retweet them. Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/kotaro.uchikoshi Twitter tweets: https://twitter.com/Uchikoshi_Eng?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor In hindsight, I can't believe I didn't think of this idea before... and why no one else did either.4 points -

Back in high school, I joined an anime club. We had one guy brought in a complete set of La Blue Girl to watch for movie night. It does feel awkward when you watch hentai with a group of people. One dude had to excuse himself and go to the bathroom to do "it". He didn't specifically say what he was going to do, but it was already a give away when he was slightly rubbing his crotch and had a rape face while watching the whole thing.3 points -

I'm a big fan of train scenes if done nicely. I actually really like animation that uses a lot of real elements from Japan: I also enjoy beach scenes. Enoshima is actually quite gorgeous and I really want to visit that place when I go back to the country: Finally, this really isn't a scene, but the large graduation ceremony is kind of cool:2 points -

This'll definitely get the Kickstarter more attention because if a guy like him is promoting something, it's definitely gonna get more attention. ~~~ It's no coincidence that the funding went up by 4,000 after he promoted it. All this project needs is more advertising because this visual novel is worth it.2 points -

Hi~ I actually signed up in the forums a few weeks back to ask for help with a VN installation, but I ended up comming back regularly and replying to some threads here and there, so I thought it'd be nice to properly say hello. So, nice to meet you! I've been into anime and all this weeabo stuff for about 8 or 9 years now, but I only learned about visual novels about 3 years ago, and since then I've read quite a few. I'm from Spain, and I study Translation at college. My mother tongues are Spanish and Catalan, I'm fluent in English since I was young, and I'm currently learning French and Japanese. With any luck I'll be able to lend a hand in a VN translation project in a few years. btw, my favorite VN is Rewrite.1 point

Yeah, you might be right with the assets thing, but that doesn't justify "meh" quality boxes/images... They look as simple as they could be. David, honestly, don't you think it's offensive to fans to set up 1,000$ tier with only signs added from 275$ tier? I'm feeling bad for people trying to save KS by choosing 1000$ tier...1 point

How is Noble Works?
Funnerific reacted to Clephas for a topic
Generally speaking, just like moege is an umbrella term, so is a charage. While most charage fall under the moege 'umbrella', there are also some that don't (some OELVNs that would apply, charage that have a more action and/or story focus with chuuni elements like Libra, etc.). Moege are just that... games where moe in visuals and characterization are the focus (things like the uguu~ monster in Kanon, classic tsundere patterns, archetypical deredere heroines are all things that would be considered to be moe characterization, as opposed to the more detailed, in-depth characterization necessary for a VN to be referred to as a charage). For a game not to be a charage, it has to have an overarching story that dominates all the routes at least to some extent, even if it is mostly in the background in some routes. Noble Works and Princess Evangile, for all that they have a 'beginning idea' and a theme, don't actually have a stand-alone story that moves on independent of the characters in question. 'Convenient' plot path alterations are common in both moege and charage. What this means is that, depending on which heroine you choose, even if there is a central theme or beginning idea, it gets twisted immensely to fit into the heroine's and the protagonist's own personal drama and/or issues. This is the case in both Noble Works and Princess Evangile. However, both have characterization that is just too involved and detailed for it be considered a 'pure' moege. In other words, there is an actual attempt to represent the characters as 'people' rather than as 'symbols'. Many 'pure moege' heroines (actually almost all of them) could be literally plugged into any other moege and you wouldn't feel like they were out of place. While this didn't happen intentionally, it is how the moege umbrella genre came to be seen. As a side note, the 'nakige' sub-genre mostly falls under both the charage and moege umbrellas, and it is defined by 'cheap catharsis', where a crisis is created in the heroine paths that leads to an emotionally stressful bit of drama that is then resolved with no real permanent loss to the characters involved (as in opposition to an utsuge, where the characters in question might die, suffer permanent crippling damage, go insane, etc). Key's games before Rewrite would all fall into this genre, as well as under the charage and moege umbrellas. 'Moege' is the single largest umbrella term in all of VNs other than 'nukige' (there being about ten nukige for every other type of VN out there). Roughly eighty percent of all non-nukige VNs made since the year 2000 fall under the moege umbrella and about sixty percent fall under both it and the charage umbrella. Does that give you an idea of just how wide a net you cast when you call something a 'charage'? What are the remainder? Mostly 'story-focused' VNs... VNs that have an overarching story which exceeds the importance of the characters/reduces them to tools to progress the story (though there is almost always deep character development and characterization technique involved). Chuunige are my favorite example of this type, as characters are literally 'caught up in the events', rather than being the absolute movers and/or shapers of events they are in charage. A more ambiguous type would be those like Ojousama wa Gokigen Naname, where there is definitely a strong central plot, but the story narrows down to an intense focus on individual characters in the latter third of the game. It still wouldn't be considered a charage (because the original story/conflict still dominates in the background), but it comes close. On the other hand, Otome ga Tsumugu, Koi no Canvas (by the same maker) would be considered a charage despite having numerous important unifying elements, because it is the characters (choice of heroines) that dominate rather than a central story.1 point -

How is Noble Works?
Vorathiel reacted to CeruleanGamer for a topic
Noble Works is in a rich co-ed school setting. Princess Evangile is in a rich female-only school where the protagonist (Masaya) is basically like a "trial" student to decide whether the school should be co-ed in the future. Princess Evangile is more on a charage side and Noble Works is more moege. The difference between the two? Charage is more character interaction focused rather than overarching plots. Moege is basically slapping cute characters on a visual novel doing cute things to develop a cute atmosphere. I consider it more a subgenre of charage than a whole new classification hence you will see the two overlap all the time.1 point -
Kind of an odd statement, but I'm not going to disagree that more VNs releasing in the west through any means is a bad thing. More steam VNs will be good for everyone. We who want it can patch it and those who doesn't can leave it all ages. Everyone has their own opinions, and wether you like H-content or not is completely subjecctive. That being said though, I can't say I agree with the term "fixed VN" for an eroge with cut H-content. A VN is a visual novel and that has no need for H-content. That is fine. However an eroge is an erotic game, meaning there has to be erotic content in it, and these titles keep getting translated. If that part of the game is removed, it is taking out something that might be trivial to the plot yes, but that still makes the essence of the game's genre itself. I have seen you comment on this before and it seems you are quite set in your ways, which is absolutely fine, but I just want to say this: an eroge with cut H-conent is a censored game and it's quite frustrating for a lot of fans. Again, eroge being the keyword, not VN in a general sense. Therefore, the point that I was making earlier was that when an eroge is brought to steam and censored it can cause a little frustration, because we don't actually get the entire game in it's full glory. Sure, H-scenes don't do much for the plot, but that is beyond the point. The core problem is that content is removed from the game, and that annoys people like me.1 point

Thanks! I'll have a play with them. My theme was set to temporal - by the way I'm on a 4k monitor with 140dpi scaling so perhaps the issue only shows up because of the massive scaling going on at that resolution, though other sites never have this problem (and my hardware is ridiculously OP so it's not a hardware issue). Problem solved, FuwaFabulous was fine, thanks!1 point
