  1. This thread is for VN main menu tracks that are catchy/memorable/atmospheric/etc. How many you post doesn't matter, but PUT THE DAMN YOUTUBE LINKS IN SPOILER TAGS so that people do not have to scroll down a couple kilometers while reading. Remember11- All or None (Piano) This track's sadness and the whole atmosphere in the main menu reflects the themes of the game beautifully (especially the first half). Danganronpa 1 & 2- DANGANRONPA A perfect introduction to Danganronpa's wacky, catchy style. Ever17- Karma Same as Remember11. This music is tied to some unforgettable moments of the VN for me, hearing it always takes me back. Euphoria- Rakuen no Tobira (Instrumental) Reason is spoilers but the track is amazing either way

  2. More terrible OELVN's, yay! I even had high hopes for this one too... So, I was trying to wait for Unwonted Studios to release the 18+ patch but since that is apparently taking forever I decided to publish it anyways. I highly doubt it will do much to improve the overall quality of this hot mess anyways... Link: http://reviews.fuwanovel.net/2016/02/14/no-one-but-you-2/

  3. And that's exactly why people call Sekai the Hitler of visual novels.

  4. You really expect something else? I think Valve mentioned it before but the reason Steam cracks down on sexual content is because of international obscenety laws, not because they're incredibly conservative or something. Obscenety laws are really hard to fight against and could put Steam in trouble in countries where pornography is either illegal or eroge is considered child porn *cough*Canada*cough*. Until Steam can sort out a system that protects them from these laws, it's unlikely they'll allow full blown eroge on Steam. What I think is the best solution is to do what HuniePop did and have patches to give you the uncensored content instead, that way you technically still don't have porn on Steam, but you can still get the "Steamy" content.

  5. It’s not the black or white scenario you try and paint. Muv Luv, G-Senjou, Clannad, all saw fans clamoring for an official release.

  6. Not necessarily. Sekai Project has suggested in the past that they like to pick up titles with name recognition in the West (source). Most of these happen to be titles that have been fan-translated or had a popular anime adapation. It's a mistake to assume that the crowd that buys VNs on Steam is the same crowd that plays fan-translated VNs. It's not a mistake to assume that these people are influenced by the crowd that plays fan-translated VNs. Everyone has to keep in mind that Sekai Project has a marketing budget of zero or close to it. They want titles they can sell to people (not necessarily us) with no marketing effort on their part. Fan-translated titles are good for that.

  7. I'm not asking for a translation of Dies Irae or something like that (although I'm pretty sure it would do well with a Kickstarter, which Sekai Project has a fetish for) but more titles on the level of Grisaia and G Senjou No Maou that aren't translated. Although I am looking forward to Chrono Clock, whenever they finish it.

  9. I'm sure youtubers are really glad to see another winged cloud game because those are the ones who profit the most with those types of novels. I would bet that they even make more money than winged cloud itself.

  10. What are some of your favorite visual novel artists? Which artist left an impression on you as you read through a certain vn? Which one made you wish to see more of their work? For me, it is either Tony Taka, who's done "Sora no Iro, Mizu no Iro" "Fault!" "After..." and many others. Another is Happoubi Jin. whos done stuff such as "KanojoxKanajoxKanojo" and its sequel, "Boin" and its sequel, as well as the Bishoujo Mangekyou series. what about you? whos some of your favorite vn artists?

  11. Fuwsqui and I are back with an all new giveaway game featuring all the wonderful members of Fuwanovel and my YouTube subscribers that are interested in joining! Are you a price master? Can you successfully guess the cost of a being a figurine collector? Count your money and find out in... Name That Price! Video Link The Rules: Please read this entire section! The rules of the game are simple. In the video linked above, I show you a total of 7 different figurines. It is your job to guess the actual price of each item and provide me a grand total of what you think it all costs. The winner will be the individual who correctly guesses the total price of all the figurines. Here is some additional information regarding the rules of the game: Prices are based off what I personally paid for each figure. You can use retail prices to gauge an estimate, but the rest is on you. Prices must be provided in Japanese yen, rounded to the nearest 100 (i.e. = 1,543 yen -> 1,500 yen). Shipping price is not included in any of the figurines listed. You do not need to worry about over/under pricing the items; the closest estimate wins. Note: Discussion and/or sharing of answers in this thread is allowed, however please submit all solutions in this thread by indicating your total yen amount clearly and in bold letters. PM is also acceptable, however I prefer responses in this thread if you have a Fuwanovel account as I may be getting plenty of YouTube subscriber responses as well. You are allowed to edit your answer at any time, however I will announce a final cutoff date later during the week. For YouTube subscribers, commenting on the video in the comment's section is perfectly acceptable if you don't feel like making an account on Fuwanovel. At one point during the event, I will post price tag clues for everyone to use. These tags will list some money hints. Make sure to pay attention when these price tags go up. The Winner: The winner of the competition will receive a $50 prize! This prize money can be paid to you via PayPal, or be used by me to buy any item(s) online of your choice (within reason). If you choose the latter option, all I will do is pay for the item via my own credit card and ship the item to an address of your choice. Note: If you manage to correctly guess the exact amount of the figurines (rounded to the nearest 100 yen), you will double the prize and win a grand total of $100! Additional Help: 100 yen = $1.00 (during even exchange rates) MyFigureCollection is an excellent source for retail prices. Questions? Discuss answers and ideas in this thread and don't hesitate to ask! Good luck, and have fun!

  17. Hasn’t there been all sorts of talk regarding what price Key used to demand for the privilege of localising their games? Wasn't it an arm and leg from every member of the localisation studio, the first born of the CEO, and a thousand souls nabbed from the recently departed (stored in a jar with a rubber seal for convenient transportation.)

  18. Yes to majikoi no to Harukoi Otome. oh my god, does harukoi have sooooo much drama. its also very depressing. there are routes that have choices that can make you feel like a piece of crap and a route thatll make you sad. not the good kind of sad, like "What a beautifully told story" but the "DEAR GOD WHHHHYYYYY?!?" kind of sad.

  19. I will give my example first. I run a team developing Black Sands and it consist of the following: 1 artist - does BGs, CGs, Animations 2 programmers - one does the core mechanics and script, the other does special effects. 1 composer - makes musical tracks and undertones 2 voice actors. 1 co-writer which handles proofreading, rewriting, and editing of both Legends of the Rift and Sons of Nibiru Throughout the development, we never argue about roles. It seems that the way I handle responsibilities and critiques seems to be acceptable for the group as a whole. Everyone has their own task and never need to do someone else' work. I keep my artist happy by allowing him pure freedom to design everything as he sees fit so long as he sticks to a couple of core concepts. I never ask people to overhaul their work unless they notice something glaring. As a result, they most of the time spot something and jump head over heel to fix it without me demanding it. My composer has freedom to make songs but at first, he didnt understand VN music. It took a while for him to understand the repetitive aspect of it but now he is knocking songs out every 2 weeks. My voice actors as doing a damn good job staying in character and I gave them complete freedom to change up ANY LINES that were not deliverable in character or unnatural sounding. This made our lines sound way better in conversation then originally written. We then change those lines in the script to fit the narrative. Finally my writer is given 100% freedom to embellish on any chapter I create. He can make it super wordy like a lord of the rings description and I let it fly. As a result, he keeps motivated to push more content whenever it is available. In the end, I am happy that I am not dealing with any drama at all with my team and I am wondering what you other devs are doing and how management is going for you?

  20. Nonsense. Everything must be known whenever the protagonist's dick enters the heroine and it must be described in detail. I have to know what happens to her pussy and how she feels about it.

  26. As someone who works with marketing, I would have done the same. You have way more success selling a product that already has built a reputation even if it's bad than something that is foreign, new, and obscure. Can't blame them for wanting to get some easy money from it. Heck, you know what guys? We can make our own company and do the same thing as what Sekai Project is doing. Bet we have 50 different people in here that could make dovac a sorry ass of a CEO when compared to our awesome Fuwanovel personnel and if we combine all our talented fantranslators to coordinate and work together, we can translate White Album 2, Dies Irae, and Baldr Sky in less than a year. Hehehe.... yeah right... But the only difference is, these guys are do-ers, not people just waiting for something to happen. They don't care what we think, what other haters think, and just execute. It's something I admire from Sekai Project even if what they are doing is destroying the loyalty and trust they built with their long time fans and VN fans in general.

  28. Alright! So I finished Kimihane Kanojo; absolutely loved it! I had no expectations of it and it just blew my mind. Such a beautiful little yuri VN I've made some changes to my backlog and so it's time to start Maggot baits! Well.. I kind of already did start it a few days ago. So far; loving it. The action scenes are epic, the art is beautiful and .. Well, there are parts that aren't so beautiful but .. hey, not hating those parts either My first guro VN so I don't know how I'll handle those parts but... We'll see. On the translated side I'm still playing ikikoi. Not going to say much about it because I'll get murdered Short version: I'm one of those people who actually don't hate it

  29. Well it can't be art, since Sakura Beach has great art and it's terrible in every other aspect. For me it's the plot, the setting, the feel and the writing, I'm certainly not there for the H. Never fapped to a VN, only like once or twice I felt the inclination. It's no surprise many people are naming characters, since telling a story never seen is difficult, characters tend to make or break a work of fiction.

  30. Me watching hentai animu since the 80s lol. To name a few: Cream Lemon, Urotsukidouji, Sei Michaela Gakuen Hyouryuuki, La Blue Girl, Injuu Onna Kyoushi... Hentai nowadays are pretty much impossible to watch if you know how they once looked.

  36. True, okay we can always reference that old interview with that dude from Minori: http://blog.fuwanovel.net/2013/02/the-unstoppable-downfall-of-the-bishoujo-ge-industry-interview-with-nbkz-producer-at-minori/ http://biz-journal.jp/2013/02/300.html *It's 250,000 yen a month, not year, I corrected it in the above paragraph. So about 300k for a decent game, with the price going up depending how good you want to make it? Funnily enough, 300k is what was pledged to the Megatokyo team, so let's hope they can produce something decent with that money.

  37. Of course. If they release one game a year, then you can consider the yearly upkeep of the company as the cost to produce one game, regardless of how they shift staff around projects. Management staggers projects and shifts staff around them so they can keep employees working all year round, regardless of what their role is. But I also understand that Japanese employees in Otaku industries tend to do a lot of moonlighting, so I'm not sure how many "full time" employees you can say your average eroge studio has. Either way, $120,000 sounds way too cheap for your average charage.

    DameKoi error

It was still better than 8 by a mile... though it definitely had issues. XP or 7 are the easiest to use/most stable Windows versions and even they had their problems. I say 'at its height', but I really mean before 7 and as XP was no longer being offered as a default OS for any PC (though you could still get it tacked on for extra at a lot of places). Edit: Also, I went straight from ME to Vista, and it was a massive improvement... by comparison. 8 is even worse than ME in my opinion... and that's saying a lot.

  39. Ah no, i said My GF is the President is japanese because i thought it was very representative of japanese otaku culture. The comical situations, the characters, the dialogue.. i couldn't help but feel that the best adjective for the novel is 'japanese'. I doubt any OELVN could come up with the same nuances due to the differences in culture.

  40. If you were referring to my post where I was joking about the release date - just ignore it! I actually mistook Sekai Project for Jast. In my defense, it was very early in the morning and my mind needs at least one hour more to wake up than my body...

  42. There's a whooole lot of SP salt being thrown around today. Some thoughts on the matter: It's weird that SP is "announcing" Sakura Dungeon, since MangaGamer already announced it. MG not only announced it, but said they are publishing and helping fund its development, and it will be 18+. So what the heck is SP's role? On the matter of Hoshimemo, keep in mind that AkebeiSoft2 wanted SP to release G-Senjou no Maou and Sharin no Kuni before they would allow them to license anything else. According to Moogy, who was involved in the process, SP wanted a shot at something more recent and untranslated, but instead are forced to jump through hoops. What I'm saying is that who knows what Favourite wants out of this deal. Or maybe SP wants "easy money," but it's not like they aren't translating plenty of stuff themselves currently, and I actually question how much more profitable it is to release a fan translation officially, when it's competing with the free release that's been out for years. As for the translation, it was translated from a Chinese translation. Translations of translations are always messy, and Hoshimemo was no exception. Especially since Insem apparently booted people off the team who made too many corrections based off of the Japanese script. On the matter of Dovac's tweet about piracy (posted in the other thread, don't feel like responding in both), it's a pretty baffling tweet, since as far as I know the game in question hasn't actually been pirated. At all. So wtf is he complaining about? With KARAKARA, that's using IndieGoGo's Flexible Funding, which means that 1) The game is going to be released no matter what, 2) SP is going to receive any amount of the funds pledged to the project, even if it doesn't reach the goal. IndieGoGo is a viable pre-order platform that is actually built to support that mentality, and SP probably figures that it's easier to sell pre-orders of an 18+ game at IGG than it is over at Denpasoft. Especially since IGG specifically allows 18+ content. I'm fairly confident this isn't happening. If it was, we would have heard something from an angry translator. Instead, multiple translators have mentioned that they have been paid for their patch being picked up. I thought that SP was spreading themselves thin at one point, too. But they're still trucking along, ever expanding.

  43. Just finished the main scenario of Kindred Spirits on the Roof. There's still some bonus scenes left to read, but that's for tomorrow. I had this feeling from the beginning that Kindred Spirits would turn out be a really respectable romance VN, and I'm glad it didn't disappoint me. Sure, it's not the greatest there is and it's little clumsy from time to time, but it's also the best pure romance story (stories?) I've read in a visual novel. It's very honest and natural how it present the romance and does many things better since it doesn't follow the standard eroge formula. No routes mean better focus and very refreshingly there's no shoehorned H-scenes. And the few scenes that are in there are where tastefully done. I encourage everyone to at least look into Kindred Spirits. I can guarantee that it makes you feel way better than making heated arguments about Sekai Project's business decisions. ~ I've also made some really good progress on Shiei no Sona-Nyl, I but got stuck on a H-scene at final chapter just before Kindred Spirits was released. But more about that later when I've read it to completion.

  44. Then we get dissed and told "Please dont bother us with the 18+ stuff, Denpasoft handles that" nonsense or they make us wait for the promised goods that we pledged for or we have to constantly remind them they are behind or haven't done shit on time. Gotta love the customer appreciation Sekai Project.

  46. Hoshimem is a good VN and deserves an official release, so I'm all for it. I'm also waiting for the translation of the fan disc Eternal Heart for some time now. Maybe this will speed things up and also turn into an official release? Everything in the description of Sakura Dungeon screams Demon Master Chris 2, so I'll keep an eye on that one since I liked the first one. Not exactly sure what to think about the Karakara announcement. It doesn't exactly look like a must play title.

Hell, Conjueror himself said somewhere that he would push for the winner's translation, not that it would be official. Whoever has hope that the tournament winner is gonna get translated should stop obsessing over the tournament and use that time to learn Japanese.
