  1. You people are silly, blaming Sekai Project, saying they are getting what they deserve. Simply stupid. It sounds more like a company who simply would not play ball with their publisher. The amount of time some of you spend hating on SP for the smallest of reasons is very petty, and only adds to the reasons I hate the VN community. Entitled, whiny, arrogant, pretentious, belittling, weebs. Keep in mind that this KS was done before people started crying over Sekai Project using Kickstarter. Call me a shill if you want, report this post if you want. The people in this thread hating on SP are just plain dumb. Could SP have avoided this? Who knows? None of us know what goes on with the contracts and licensing talks. For all we know, maybe Sekai Project is the absolute evil some of you act like they are. Or, they could be doing thins the way they work and letting the market decide if it will keep working. After Root Double, I'm pretty sure the number of Kickstarters is going to go down, because people don't want to keep doing that (especially after 3 burns now basically). But, none of us actually know what goes on with them, so at this point, its criticism without any evidence or facts to back you up. Just what you see on the surface. Anyway, as a backer who has the VN, its a shame, because the VN isn't all that bad. I am about halfway through it or so, and I'll still try to push a review out.

    Culture Gap in VNs

The cultural differences are quite deep and noticeable but it doesn't bother me..there's a lot of things i like about the way they do things and their culture and others not so much...I'm pro learning and sharing between cultures...one can learn and adapt from others and viceversa though that's actually hard to accomplish aswell

  7. Honestly, I would love to see the homepage of Fuwanovel function a lot like the homepage of Toy's Planning: http://toypla.com Basically, we can have feeds for the Twitter/Facebook and simply have tabs similar to their homepage. Each tab links to the forums, blog, review site, etc. I think it would be cool to design images to use for each tab as well. We can customize the page to have featured tabs as well (i.e. = a blog post) and add a cool background. Simple, clean, and easy to do!

  11. well, just got done with the second chapter and i pretty much predicted everything. i dont know why, its not like im smart or anything. its just speculation. i thought for a while it might be i still think its dumb that if you get something wrong, everyone thinks it was you that killed the person, despite there being absolutely no evidence to support that. but i guess they had to do it this way since if there is a point where all the characters believe its this one person the trial wont end prematurely. and again, i hate the stupid bs they throw at you in trial. white noise is probably the dumbest. i just imagine makoto standing there in the room going "I can't find the truth! There's too many words!!" while everyone is just looking at him like a crazy person. also truth bullet, why is that not instant? i hate that i fire at something and i miss because the text switches. so i have to skip all the dialogue, go back to the beginning, and skip until i see the text again and pray i dont hold skip for too long and miss it. you see, this is why other games *cough cough phoenix wright cough cough* have it so the player can go through the text at a leisurely pace while still being challenging. here, there is no challenge. you have all this evidence at hand but you can only use a few at a time so it increases your chances of getting the right answer. then it throws crap at the screen to make it difficult. any challenge can be more difficult if you throw needless crap at the player, that doesnt make the challenge itself difficult.

If you like what you see, feel free to follow the project on Tumblr (the official development blog) and Twitter for updates between blog posts. Thanks for your interest! === Story === Nothing lasts forever – at least, that’s what young Lyle has come to believe. Forced to move away from home with his older brother, Lyle finds himself in a new town, far away from a painful past and heading toward a lonely future. When he finds comfort in making dolls using a mysterious sewing kit, he soon discovers that his life will be anything but lonely! Be immersed in this heartfelt tale of love and discover what it means to find yourself, no matter who, or what, is willing to lend a hand! Lyle (the player-character) must move away with his older brother Cole after the sudden and unfortunate passing of their parents. To occupy his mind during the long road trip to their new home, Lyle makes five plush dolls using some leftover materials found in an old sewing kit. Due to the magical properties of the sewing kit and Lyle’s cry for help (brought about by loss, unfamiliarity, and bullying at school), the dolls come to life! The narrative focuses around Lyle and his relationship with the five dolls. He has a lot to teach them, but there’s a lot he can learn from them too. This heartfelt love story is also a coming-of-age story with several overarching plots; Lyle must adapt to his new environment, cope with loss, strengthen his relationship with his brother, discover his sexual orientation, and overcome gender stereotypes, all while teaching five curious dolls about the world. His relationship with the dolls is a complicated one. After all, he plays multiple roles: creator, teacher, and companion. He wasn’t planning to add “boyfriend” to that list, but who knows! Will it be love at first stitch? === Features === Could Lyle fall in love with one of these dolls turned human? It’s up to you! The choices you make along the way will affect the outcome of the story. Enjoy expressive character sprites as you make decisions on behalf of Lyle and unlock beautiful CG images along the way! ♥ 5 Romance Options ♥ 50+ CG Images ♥ 10+ Hours of Gameplay ♥ 8 Different Endings ♥ Optional 18+ Epilogues === Characters === Player Character Lyle The player-character. Lyle is a chronic over-thinker who's always too hard on himself. He's having trouble adapting to the changes life has thrown his way, but with a little help, he can learn to overcome his insecurities. He's sensitive, thoughtful, and suddenly has his hands full teaching five rambunctious dolls about the world! Romanceable Characters Torin Team tsundere! The first doll made and a total grump! Possessive and protective, Torin certainly has his ups and downs. He is the most temperamental of all the dolls and is prone to both mood swings and bouts of laziness. Intimidating at first, but surprisingly unsure of himself. Are you able to knock down his defensive walls? Desifer Hot mess! The second doll, who's convinced that he's number one in all things. Obsessed with his looks and with confidence to spare, Desifer is sooner to remove his bottoms than put a shirt on, so don't ask! Devious and vain, Desifer has no concept of personal space. You'd better hope his hands are busy playing with his hair! Rook Cuteness overload! Rook is the excitable and affectionate third doll. He loves to climb trees and has a bad habit of mispronouncing words, but never makes an effort to correct himself. A clumsy crybaby who always seems to get his way, Rook can win the hearts of strangers without even trying – has he already won yours? Ellery Sweet serenity! The fourth doll and easily the most mature. Being a skilled cook who prefers instant noodles and an excellent painter who can't draw, Ellery can be a little inconsistent! His love of nature and the arts, however, never falter. He's a caregiver, peacekeeper, and a great listener too – why don't you try confiding in him? Kahvel Smarty pants! The fifth and final doll has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. When Kahvel doesn't have his nose in a book, you can find him taking things apart just to figure out how they work. Luckily, he's skilled at putting them back together again. Quirky and dramatic, this mismatched doll is sure to keep you on your toes! Other Characters Cole Lyle's older brother. This short-tempered pediatrician runs on coffee, cigarettes, and caramel candies. Insensitive and unsociable, Cole isn't great with words, especially words from the heart. He's a workaholic who takes his role as Lyle's caretaker quite seriously. He loves his little brother and is very protective of him. Tilly Lyle's best friend. This rowdy, outgoing, energetic girl seems to be the opposite of Lyle in every way! Tilly is impatient and blunt, never hesitating to speak her mind. She's incredibly helpful when she's not running late. Tilly hates secrets more than anything else. Will Lyle tell her about the dolls? He may not have a choice! Mr. Mendoza A skilled toy-maker. Mr. Mendoza is a traditionalist who prefers classic, wooden toys over flashy, electronic ones. He has a variety of skills, like cooking and falling asleep sitting up. He has patience for everything except conflict, which he rarely tolerates. Mr. Mendoza is kind, sincere, and wise – Lyle seeks his advice often. === CG Samples === Which doll would you like to pursue a romantic relationship with?

    Culture Gap in VNs

I just finished Cross + Channel in Japanese, and I couldn't agree more with its high rating in Japan. Though including SF elements in the story, the main focus of this VN, in my opinion, is to depict and reflect a style of interpersonal relationship that is more easily resonated by Asian readers. I believe readers from societies of collectivism will sense more than the westerners. What do you think of the culture gap in VNs?

Then again, I have a photographic memory so the best way for me to learn was to continuously quiz myself for about two weeks until I understood them. If you keep either writing or reading them often, you'll get them eventually. がんばれ

Dw, your complaints are valid, I can totally see how annoying/frustrating the gameplay can be... if you're not good at it I never had a problem/raged at static getting in the way or missing shots entirely cuz too slow You'll love DR2 when it comes out. This is where I will agree with your just want to continue the story, because Logic Dives and Improved Hangman's Gambit imo were some of the worst Class Trial gameplay thingies ever.

You can replace cranberries with other things like: sunflower seeds/pumpkin chocolate etc. My rating 8,5/10 Recipe is pretty simple: 10-20 minutes of prep time and 15 mniutes in the oven, you get like 35 pieces out of it. Correction: 3/4 bar of butter = 150g You can be a masterchef too! xD

Katawa Shoujo made history in the good way for OELVN'S then there's things like Stein's;Gate which also made good history and remain held as one of the best across all it's iterations..be it anime, Vn On the bad side you have things like School Days which wether you like it or not it's truly infamous even if it's not as shitty as some other things out there and it's anime dear gods Winged cloud in general and specially the Sakura shit show has made a dent on the whole vn scene too

  35. I find everything in Persona to be stripped down versions of what you get in the SMT games, that's all. In Persona 3 and 4, you get a break from the SMT atmosphere while you attend school, while in SMT games like Nocturne and even the Digital Devil Saga spin off, the surreal atmosphere is there the whole time. It males the games a bit less accessible. The setting is completely foreign instead of, once again, being part foreign but mostly familiar (school setting.) The story, similar to the setting, is not as accessible for much the same reasons. The gameplay tends to be much harder. I find the Persona series sort of 'SMT for a mass audience', with the sort of compromises you expect.

  37. Who here is interested in writing? Anybody? Ah I see, nobody at all, I knew it! Okay, well then I'm going to bore you for a little bit with a very quick and easy tip for beginner writers who want to write in 1st person or 3rd person limited. I like this piece of advice because it doesn't take long to explain, and is incredibly easy to implement. I will use a couple of examples from the Flowers demo: So these 2 screenshots have been snagged from BDH's incredibly useful ... erm, Twitter thingy. Kudos to him for all the hard work So let's talk about filtering. What is filtering? Filtering is when the narrator filters what they observe to the audience. This is considered 'bad' because it adds an extra layer for information to pass through before it hits the reader. (I.e. The information is being filtered through an unnecessary person.) Secondly in first person (and a lot of the time in third person close) it's unnecessary and unwanted, because the reader is in the head of the narrator. So, logically everything the character sees, the reader sees. And everything the character hears, the reader hears. What the character thinks, the reader can share in these thoughts. And in fact most of the time it would count as a bad error on the writer's part to include any information the character who's narrating does not have. So, including the words 'I see' or 'I hear' or 'I thought' are unnecessary 'filters.' Thus: Is a classic example of 'not cool' writing. The filter is the words 'I see' and they are unnecessary and create distance. Very easily solved with: Another example: Another case of filtering. Replace with: Do you see how the reader is automatically closer to the action? And to be honest, 1st person is partly about getting close to the action. So with 1st person and 3rd person close, you should eliminate those filtering words. And to whoever is editing the Flowers demo ... ditto.

  43. Agree completely here. My main concern is this - releasing a demo in sub-standard condition is a tad unprofessional, but releasing a demo in this bad a condition a month before release date is worrying. I'm not really concerned about the unprofessional bit, I'm concerned about whether they'll get it into an acceptable condition. Furthermore, if there are translation problems in the script you shouldn't be editing. And especially if there are this many problems with the script. Making sure the script is accurate comes first, or you end up editing more times than is needed. Which wastes time and also means the editing percentage provided isn't representative of the actual state of progress. Because of course, once a line has been made accurate from a translation viewpoint, you have to edit it again. So there's no point editing until the script is acceptable from an accuracy viewpoint.

    What are you playing?

Finally finished that... Hikari no Valusia ~What a Beautiful Hopes~ Pros: Good art, sometimes good music and voice acting Cons: Everything else. Plot is boring slice of life in a fantasy setting, which pretend to be a pieces of puzzle to become a whole in the end... But it fails. Characters motives? LOVE. That's the thing which would solve everything and explain anything. Magical realism? Who told that? Forget this immediately. Self-consistent plot? Yeah, forget it too. In a nutshell - 40 hours about nothing, apart how boy meet girl. Tons of characters who do nothing (really nothing) and add nothing to the story and the whole chapters are about persons who would never appear again. And very boring. And do not forget that "poetic" x3 repetiveness of same strings through the story. Who told there is charm in it? Not at all. So... If all other stories by Sakurai written this way... Well, I think this author would top my "never again" list then. But I will try to give it another chance and read Gakhthun demo, to see if koestl translation could improve the taste of that.

  46. Are you running your computer with Japan system locale? (link to instructions): Yes Game Name: Drammatical Murder Description of Problem: So basically I download DMMD last June from Fuwanovel without a problem. I played Clear and Koujaku's route without incident. I then came back like 3 months later to give Noiz's Route a go and just as I am about to get to the point in his route where you can decide to go the bad/good route the screen flashes and shows the "Nitro Chiral" logo like the game has restarted except everything was inverted (color wise) and none of the keys were responding except the exit button and then it started showing the text in Japanese . . . It is safe to say I was more than just a bit freaked afterwords. I thought it might just be part of the route, but then it got to the point where text started running all over the screen and nothing seemed to be working. So my question is, how can I fix this? And if I can't how can I totally delete the game, because I tried just deleting the folder and redownloading DMMD using the same torrent from before, but when I opened the new game it still had my saved scenes from my old game that I had completely deleted and when I went to go back to where the glitch happened, it happened again in all its trippy glory. Thanks in advance for your help! Your Operating System: Windows XP 64 or 32 bit (link to how to find): 64 bit What did you already try? (Uninstall/Reinstall, Redownload, Run as admin, etc): Delete (Uninstall), Redownload, and Run as Admin Did you download your game from Fuwanovel?: Yes I did

    Toradora! Portable

Summary A spin-off of the popular Toradora Anime. Unlike in the original story, this time Takasu Ryuuji finds himself in a hospital bed. Confused and dizzy he's suddenly greeted by a short girl who calls him by a strange name. Is this his name? Who is this girl? It's soon after that the shocking truth comes to the surface. Amnesia. Poor Ryuuji suffered an accident after christmas eve and forgot everything about his past, his friends, his likes, his relationships, even his own name. As he leaves the hospital he meets up with all sorts of people who seem to be acquainted with him. A beautiful blonde girl who apparently lives with him. His best friends Kitamura and Minori. The popular model Kawashima Ami and even his pet parakeet Inko-chan. These people hold all of Ryuuji's memories and they are the key to unlocking his past. What will Ryuuji do? Will he be able to recover all of his past? An eventful journey awaits him as new year approaches and the new school semester comes closer by the day. Will he be able to remember everything before school starts? And if he does will anything in his new life change? It's all up to you to you decide. Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order This novel has an enforced playing order so you will not be able to avoid bad endings straight away. Each ending is graded at the end of the game by Yuri, she'll score it from the worst possible (50 points) to the best possible (100 points). There's a lot of dialog choices that are only available if you pick certain items while cleaning/talking. The common route always branches at the exact same point and you'll get a different scenario based on the choices you made. The game is divided into 3 scenarios: Kitamura & Kano, Courage Test and Solution. Within each scenario you have several character routes that you can get into. This is an ending guide not a full walkthrough Following this entire guide will get you around 90% completition of the game. Why not 100%? There's numerous ways of getting into the same ending and each of those counts as a percentage of the game. Every single choice, item and path is a percetange. My goal here is to give you all the endings not every single path in the game. There is a list at the end with every single item if you want to know where to find a specific one. You can view your items in the extras option. All 21 endings in the game are listed below. If you want to complete the game 100% you can try and search for new paths by pressing L during dialogs in order to see the route diagram. Make different choices, pick up all the items you can by cleaning and talking and see if you can go in all the paths. Game Mechanics Let's break down the mechanics of the game into 3 important ones. Conversations: Item collecting: Moving around town: Route Guideline Aisaka Taiga Normal End (75 Points) True End (100 Points) Unlocked by completing both Minori's Normal End (70 Points) and Taiga's Normal End (75 Points) Bad End (65 Points) Kushieda Minori Normal End (70 Points) True End (100 points) Unlocked by completing both Minori's Normal End (70 Points) and Taiga's Normal End (75 Points) Bad End (60 Points) Kawashima Ami Normal End (90 Points) True End (100 Points) Unlocked by completing Ami's Normal End (90 Points) Bad End (50 points) Bad End (70 points) Kanou Sakura Requires all endings in the game to be completed When you begin a new game you will be prompted to a choice Choose "Play Bonus Story" and you'll be in this scenario Only End (100 Points) Kanou Sumire Good End (90 Points) Bad End (75 points) Aisaka Taiga and Kushieda Minori Only End (70 Points) Takasu Yasuko Only End (80 points) Koigakubo Yuri Only End ("Too priceless to grade") Kitamura Yuusaku Only End (80 Points) Hisamitsu Noto and Kouji Haruta Only End (85 points) Neutral Ends (65 Points) Unlocked by completing both Minori's Normal End (70 points) and Taiga's Normal End (75 points) Worst End (60 points) Item List Attribution Walkthrough made solely by me Thanks to MottainaiVN for the help in quick checking the walkthrough and helping me add new endings to it and editing it.
