huh, first, I didn't like the end of Raging Loop. As for Higurashi, all I can say is that some of your theories are spot on, but others are far from the truth. Chapter 7 explains A LOT and will probably answer your questions, tho. About Chapter 1, After you read Higurashi and Umineko [and possibly Ciconia, although it's far from finished], I'd recommend you to take a look into the Infinity Series. I won't spoil you or anything, but if you liked When They Cry you'll definetely enjoy Infinity. [Never7, Ever17 and Remember11]

  4. I don't remember a whole lot about it. It was a harem hentai that ended with all four female characters lined up bent over while the MC was left to choose who to have sex with first. I think there was a business woman, a teacher maybe (?), not sure about the others except one was either a girlfriend or childhood friend. I think he picked the business woman, but I know he didn't start with the childhood friend who got really upset about it.

Finished up Raging Loop a couple of days ago and now I'm done with chapter 6 of Higurashi. Raging Loop Like I mentioned in a previous post, I'm not that into werewolves, which initially put me off when I considered reading this VN, but I'm glad I actually decided to pick it up. The pacing of the story felt just right and the story itself turned out to be a more exciting read than I expected, with quite a few twists and turns right up until the end. I did see through some of them long before the reveals, but everything leading up to that point was so well executed that it felt satisfying nevertheless. I really appreciated how you, after clearing the game, unlock a toggle in the options, with which you can activate a ton of internal monologues mixed in with the normal dialogue and narration to get a better understanding of everything that's going on and why certain people act in certain ways. It's a function I'd love to see in Higurashi, to be honest. And so, while we're on the subject... Higurashi, chapter 6 First off, I agree with @Dreamysyu that this is the best chapter (so far, at least). Anyway, onward to spoiler territory. This turned out to be one of my longest posts here so far, but maybe that's not so strange considering the extent to which Higurashi puts the mind at work.

  6. No Clannad, Planetarian or Rewrite either, but Venus Blood -Frontier- somehow made the list, while sitting on 7,5 average and 7,2 bayesian on VNDB... Maybe they don't list games without 18+ content? That's the only way I can explain differences this deep. It would also influence the kind of people that used the site in the first play, attracting mostly seriously ero-oriented players... After all, there's not really a "VN fandom" in Japan the same way as there's one in the West, so probably it's more useful to see this ranking as one from eroge fans specifically?

  7. One thing I can't get over is during one of the H-scenes, she says something along the lines of "You can't see it can you? Of course, there's a mosaic in the way.", while the translation states, "You're lucky, you know. In the Japanese version, there's a mosaic in the way". And this game, is of course, un-mosaiced. This made me laugh so hard. Am I weird?

  8. Porn doesn't have to be art. Porn can just be porn. That still doesn't discredit its existence in any way, shape or form. Again I'm repeating myself but this comes down entirely to people's taste in the genre. You clearly hate sex scenes, and that's fine, but don't bash other people and call them delusional for merely having a different preference. You are literally trying to justify a personal preference of yours as some universal fact, and I'm sorry to tell you but that won't go anywhere. And let's assume everything you said is true. That h-scenes give a bad name to vns, that h-scenes are pointless, that they literally only harm the medium. EVEN THEN, that is still no reason for people not to like them. I think you should just accept the fact there are different audiences in the medium and in this case you're just not part of it.

  9. On May 27th Sol Press announced in a Blog post that they will not license any new VNs and but are intending to release the titles that they have licensed. Here is their quote: Link: https://solpress.co/blog/803/where-we-are-and-where-were-going Then today after silently removing it from their website and being asked about it on Discord, they announced that they won't translate The Future Radio and the Artificial Pigeons. You can find the second blog post here: https://solpress.co/blog/846/news-regarding-laplacians-the-future-radio-and-the-artificial-pigeons I just wanted to share that information here. Personally I am disappointed with both news. I know that Sol Press doesn't have the best reputation, but with them gone there will be fewer VN translated in the future. I personally was looking forward to The Future Radio and the Artificial Pigeons. and Nukitashi, so I am especially disappointed by the second news. And it is a really bad look that they have to already walk back on something that they said 10 days ago. Even if a staff member explained on Discord that they said they where only intending to finish all announced projects. I guess that is just the reality of the VN translation business.
