  1. First of all, sorry for the lack of updates since April, but it's all good because the patch is just about ready for release. At long last, the full patch will be released on Friday, June 13 at 22:00 UTC. Considering all the delays the project has had over the last year and a half, it's somehow fitting that it would end up getting released on Friday the 13th...not that I'm superstitious or anything, but it's still very funny. An absolutely insane amount of work by nReus went into this, including almost all of the image edits, subtitling and rendering of the videos, and even editing an animation sequence the game uses for the right-click menu to make it look as professional as possible, not to mention drawing up the Studio Frisay website, where you can see all of our projects to date. So I know you'll appreciate all the extra work that went into the project beyond the translation. As previously mentioned, the patch will work for either the original disc version released in 2010 or the version purchased from DMM; only the patch files will be different, as specified in the patch upon release. Any troubleshooting will be offered through the patch's readme, as well as on the website, and on the Discord. We've tested the patch on Windows 10 and 11, so any fixes are provided based on those systems. Sorry for the late reply to this, but I was planning on writing up something like this anyway, so this works out just as fine. First, why I picked it. I was trying to find a game that used the Kirikiri engine at the time since I wanted to try working with that engine for the first time, since it's pretty popular and knowing its ins and outs would be useful for any later projects that use that engine. But as to why Waremete specifically, I had watched the anime adaptation years ago, and I had wanted to read the game for a long time since, but just never got around to it. So it was a title that was kind of in the back of my mind, and I had wanted to revisit it to see if working on a patch for the game would be worth it, or even possible. Early work on the game's engine was a massive headache in terms of trial and error, since although the game uses Kirikiri, the developers had some really unconventional choices when they were using the engine, so I had to work through that, in addition to my own inexperience with the engine at the time. But once that was done and I started translating the beginning of the script, it wasn't soon after that I fully committed to the translation and to see it through to its end. My main impression of the game is that it was a good first (and ultimately only) title for Trumple to produce back in 2010. Remember that this was 15 years ago, and even back then, there were plenty of other bigger studios producing longer and more fleshed out visual novels that they had to compete with. So is this a AAA game? No, but it never really needed to be. I find the story interesting and engaging, the characters are endearing and I quickly became attached to their personalities and idiosyncrasies, and to a large degree I feel like the main appeal of the game are the characters themselves. I did enjoy the story. I wouldn't have worked on the game if I hadn't. But the characters really make this what it is in the end, in my opinion. Nagisa was my favorite character, but Airi is the true star of the story. No character in the game is more complex than her, and I feel the story shows that Saitou Kenji really took his time to develop her character. And it should come as no surprise that he also wrote Nagisa's route. Some of my favorite scenes were in Nagisa's and Airi's routes. The main thing I disliked about the game was that it felt kind of underdeveloped in places. All the routes seem kind of short, and the game itself is "only" 35,000 lines long, so pretty short as far as visual novels go. I do wish there had been more romantic scenes between Sou and each heroine, and in general just more interaction between the characters. The game's structure is also a little unusual since it doesn't have a separate common route, so maybe it could have been better had they done something like that instead. If nothing else, it would have provided more of those character interactions I already mentioned, if not also further developing the overall mystery of the story before getting into the heroine routes, but it's a relatively minor grievance I have with the game. There also aren't all that many supporting characters, and the few that exist are almost entirely underdeveloped except for one, and even that is not very much. Other than that, no real glaring disappointment. Stylistically, the art in the game is very nice, and the animated sprites are a really nice touch that adds to the game's overall esthetic, and makes interacting with the characters all the more enjoyable. The music is also very well done and I never found any of the tracks annoying to listen to over and over again. In the end, the game was a joy to work on and experience, and I hope others enjoy it as much as I did, if not more, once the patch is released next week.

  2. The English patch for Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete is out! Download via either Google drive or Mediafire. There really isn't much else to say beyond what I said in my previous post last week, but I appreciate all the support for not only this project, but also the previous projects, which thankfully have all seen completion, even if this one took longer than I had originally anticipated when I picked it up a year and a half ago. But as a long-time fan of visual novels, it's always nice to give something back to the community. So please enjoy the game released on the luckiest day of the year, Friday the 13th!

  3. Dat Boi Translations Presents Natsu no Ame —Summer Rain— This is the official page for the Natsu no Ame translation project. https://vndb.org/v1898 Introduction Natsu no Ame is a drama visual novel with themes such as: Family, drama, miscommunication, really cute girls. What makes Natsu no Ame special to me is that the way it depicts drama is much more grounded than the average visual novel. It also has Midori. Midori is very cute. This project started on the 10th of June 2025. I'm the only member of the team, but I've gotten some outside help to get the engine and some of the assets working properly. At the current pace, it should take me about 3-5 months to finish. Progress 20% translated as of 27th June 2025 Screenshots

  8. Release Date: 2013-09-20 Original title: ワルキューレロマンツェ More&More Censored: Yes Game Version: Ver1.0 OS: Windows Language: English (Gemini) VNDB Overview: Fan disc of Walkure Romanze ~Shoujo Kishi Monogatari~ containing after stories for the 4 heroines of the original title, plus full routes for Bertille, Ayako, and Akane. The world’s best knights gather at Winford Academy and it’s gotten quite lively with the jousting tournament nearing. Due to a misunderstanding, Takahiro’s osananajimi Mio was challenged by the proud Bertille to a match at the tournament. Since she hadn’t even rode on a horse before, he ended up guiding her to victory as a begleiter (knight’s assistant). With many watching the wonderful match, his skills as a begleiter were noticed by many students and they took quite an interest in him! However, he was unsure if he wanted to continue on as a begleiter or to return to being a knight. How will he fare in the both the arenas of jousting and love? About translation: This is a personal project to explore the capabilities of current LLMs (Large Language Models) and determine whether someone with no technical expertise, limited Japanese knowledge, and imperfect English fluency could produce a functional Japanese-to-English translation for a visual novel. The result, in my humble opinion, is surprisingly viable! This is not a full-fledged translation project with UI localization, but it covers scenario text, which should suffice for enjoying the game. Team Members: me, Gemini and DeepSeek (LMMs) Current Version Status: Updated: 2025-06-12 Notes While this is version 1.0, I'm still open to feedback for any potential hotfixes. Please report any typos, bugs, or major issues you find here or in the #feedback channel on Discord server. Game-breaking issues were addressed pre-release, but minor oversights may remain. Requirements Use Japanese locale or a locale emulator. Recommended font: SimSun-ExtB. Other fonts may cause line-splitting/text-wrapping issues. Game version 1.0 Installation Place data8.pack into the GameData folder. Launch the game using Japanese locale or a locale emulator. 9. It's been a pretty good month so far for visual novel releases and reading. Currently I'm reading A Tithe in Blood https://vndb.org/v51138 and am planning on picking up Dear Mirror Flower when it releases tomorrow (PST) https://vndb.org/v55725 as well as finishing my NekoPara reread finishing with After. Since my last update I've read: Perennial Dusk - Kinsenka, Happiness (2): Sakura Celebration, Clover Reset, Pillagers of Raillore, KANADE, and Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete. I also reread NekoPara Extra, Vol 0, Vol 1, and Vol 2. Out of those I'd actually recommend all of them. Kinsenka is probably the highlight though if you like dark-ish plotge. Happiness is a fairly standard moege which was a fine read, but nothing to write home about. Clover Reset was just a straightforward slice of life yuri story that was super all-ages (no kissing even), but was cute. Pillagers of Raillore is just a discount Sorcery Jokers, so it's decent to good, but has all of the same issues Sorcery Jokers had - massive power creep, anticlimactic ending cause it was built up too much, and kind of annoying protagonists (SJ only had one annoying protagonist though). KANADE was incredibly cute, but straightforward, but Kanade herself was incredibly cute and I wish it was twice as long so it had more time to develop characters. Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete is a pretty good visual novel, but has the same issues a lot of games in that specific genre have with repeated events, etc., but the characters are pretty great, so it makes it still a good read. Reviews for all of them are up on VNDB if you're interested in reading in more detail. See you again in another month with another 5-10 done I'm sure.

  10. Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete (In Search of the Lost Future) Release Download the patch (Google drive, Mediafire) (ver. 1.00, dated June 13, 2025) Description The school festival at Uchihama Academy is almost here, and with it, tensions at the school are at an all-time high. Not only because of scheduling disputes, but also due to rumors of mysterious incidents that have occurred lately on and off campus. Plus, this will be the last festival held at the old school building before moving to one newly being constructed. Akiyama Sou is a member of the notorious astronomy club, which has been tasked by the student council to both resolve these disputes, and also to calm any fears that have cropped up from those rumors. One evening after an incident involving the judo club, Sou is recuperating in the infirmary when the building shakes and he hears a loud sound from one of the upper floors. Concerned, he investigates the fifth floor only to discover an unconscious naked girl who upon awakening seems to know him, later introducing herself as Furukawa Yui. The next day, she seeks out the astronomy club, expressing her desire to join. VNDB link: https://vndb.org/v4880 Where to purchase The game can be purchased legally from DMM (https://dlsoft.dmm.co.jp/detail/tin_0002/), but a Japanese proxy/VPN may be necessary to purchase it. In addition, there's an extra layer of DRM which requires the installation of the DMM Game Player software which then allows you to download and install the game. A Japanese VPN is necessary to use DMM Game Player, both to download the game once purchased, and also to launch the game, although once launched the VPN can be turned off. This is the copy I have obtained, but the patch will work with both the DMM version and the original disc version released in 2010, although the only difference will be in their encryption and the addition of one extra file to get the disc version to work on modern systems. Project The English localization project is being conducted by Studio Frisay as its third project following Imasugu Onii-chan ni Imouto datte Iitai! in 2022 and H2O √ after and another Complete Story Edition in 2023. As before, I (Tooko) will be doing all of the translating and editing of the script, and working on the game engine. Also as before, nReus has agreed to help with the rendering of the game's videos and also most of the image editing (you can largely thank him for the design of the logo above). Studio Frisay website Studio Frisay discord server Progress Programming: The game uses the Kirikiri engine, one of the most popular and versatile engines around. I've already taken care of the preliminary engine hacks necessary to construct the patch after a lot of trial and error, and also received some help to streamline the patch creation process once the project is complete. Translation: The translation took place between January 19 and August 10, 2024, and I had already translated about 25% of the script by the time I announced the project in March. The game has 35,416 lines across 180 scenario files split up between the five heroine routes: Kaori: 8519 / 8519: 100% Airi: 7368 / 7368: 100% Nagisa: 7356 / 7356: 100% Yui 1: 8334 / 8334: 100% Yui 2: 3839 / 3839: 100% Total: 35416 / 35416: 100% Relatively uncommon for this type of game, it doesn't have a separate common route and instead incorporates elements similar to a common route into the beginning of each route. There is also a set order the routes must be completed, which is the same order they're listed above. A full walkthrough will be provided with the patch to view all CGs and endings. Images and videos: Of the 150 or so images that require editing in the game, almost all of them (134) are part of the UI, so it probably shouldn't take that long to finish them up. As for the videos, there are 4: 2 for the OP and 2 for the ED that will require typesetting for the lyrics and a few lines of other text. The images and videos are being edited by nReus. Editing: Editing the script began on August 13, 2024 and concluded on February 12, 2025. Image and video editing continued until their completion in early June 2025. QC: The quality check phase occurred over about a month involving a normal playthrough to check for any problems with the patch files and their rendering. The patch is scheduled for release on Friday, June 13, 22:00 UTC. Progress link on Google Sheets

  11. I do read through what I translate within the visual novel. And I have plenty of connections in the translation scene. Once the translation percentage reaches a good number, I can find someone to help edit.

  12. Great Whatever the case - get someone for proofreading and possibly editing. It's very difficult to find errors in your own text - even the obvious ones, the kind which you'd facepalm at after someone points them out

    Purchase of VN

    Good for you then.

  14. There is no other way to purchase it digitally. Physical copies would have to be purchased from second-hand sellers like Suruga-ya, and those would also probably require an additional shipping company like Tenso to act as a middleman to ship it outside Japan. It's unfortunate for such an old game like this, but DMM really is the most convenient way to legitimately acquire a copy.

  15. was able to somehow get it working as someone who can't read Japanese, thanks for all your effort in TL! Here is my steps if it helps anyone who else doesn't speak Japanese : I had find a working copy of Altered Fable (on sukebei nyaa website it was "Altered Fable + Update V1.10" or something to that effect ) Mount the .iso file to E:\ for me Run the setup.exe installer using Locale Emulator (in Japanese): https://github.com/xupefei/Locale-Emulator/releases, (In Japanese the 2nd button from the top is "install", it will install to a folder of your preference with folder name called "マブラヴオルタードフェイブル" ) --------------- Not sure if this part is needed but I did it anyway: Downloaded the OG partial patch (I had to use Google search for "MLAF_Partial_Patch_3.1_Full.zip" it led me to some erogegames forum website to get a working link since vndb website link was broken) Followed OG Patch instructions (to copy some patched files to "my documents" folder, the root game's folder and the plugins folder) ------------------------------- Followed instructions on THIS forum page to install the Win 10 patch and THIS patch (to copy some patched files to the root game's folder and the plugins folder) Run the game "マブラヴオルタードフェイブル.exe" using Locale Emulator Once ingame, the first menu button ingame is for Altered Fable. In Altered Fable game menu, first menu button is "Start", 2nd menu button is "Load" Also found a 100% game save file that works: file is here https://sagaoz.net/savedata/ma/31ma.htm , do a ctrl+f and look for "マブラヴ ALTERED FABLE 動作確認" the download link is on right hand side, put the gdb.uuc file in the Documents\age\マブラヴオルタードフェイブル\Vmreg folder Looking forward to reading your TL!

  17. Hello!! I'm looking to play any kind of VN with a genuinely evil MC. I mean evil like Saya no Uta, not something like Rance or Euphoria which is just rape. Sadly I haven't played many VNs to give more examples for what I like, but I'd like a story with the main character doing evil things that aren't just sexual crimes, I'd like something unsettling or horrific in ways beyond just explicit content. If you know of any VNs like this I'd love to hear your recommendations!!
    1 point
  18. That's difficult. I do know a lot with characters/heroines that are evil, but evil MC? Hmm. You could try Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (with the improvement patches), but it is not structured like other vns with heroines and routes. And even then it is not evil per se, but when things happen there is a reason in-game for the violence. You could also take a look into Swan Song - it does have r*p*, but there is reason for people being the worst in the game, so it doesn't happen simply for fetish like in the ones you mentioned. In Meteor World Actor, the MC is a bad cop, being a douche most of the time to everybody, albeit still being "good".

  19. Hello everyone, sorry if this has been discussed several times, but even after I studied the entire VNDB, I still couldn't find what I need (and even if I could, it's catastrophically small). I need a VN where the main character has sex with a robot, or at least something similar to this. I've been looking for at least something similar to a doll for a very long time, Carnival is unplayable, but a week ago I finished "Ayakashi Yuukaku ~Karakuri Jochuu no Mukashigatari~", and I'm very happy. But it is a VN with robots that I've been trying to find for so long. Something similar happened with Impromptu from "Okasare Yuusha II", and monsters from "Mommusu Quest". It could just be a machine, but the less human, the better (that's why I didn't like "Bishoujo Mangekyou -Kami ga Tsukuritamouta Shoujo-tachi-(BIMAN 3), but it's still a very good vn. To be honest, it doesn't even have to be a robot (but it's highly desirable). If there's something related to objects (just not artificial vaginas), then I'm also glad to know. If you need any details, I'll be happy to tell you, I don't know where to go anymore, but I hope you can tell me something. I can play both English and Japanese, via Textractor. Best regards.

  20. What is an OELVN? OELVN is an acronym that stands for Original English Language Visual Novel. If you're on Fuwanovel, you know what a visual novel is already. An OELVN is just that, but it's native language is English. An OELVN can be a commercial product, but a lot of them are actually free-to-play. Why are you making this list? Recently, I had to read an OELVN for the Fuwanovel review team. As someone with very little experience with that area of visual novels, I took to looking around the forums to get inspiration on what to read. Not surprisingly, there wasn't a real resource to be found on Fuwanovel that provided an excellent jumping point into that area of the medium. This was later brought up during brainstorming with the visual novels discussion moderating team and that provided me the impetus I needed to start this list. What is this List? As the title implies, this list aims to provide information on OELVNs that might be worth reading to you as a fan of the medium at large. I hope it'll be a good jumping point for those in the Fuwanovel community who want to read OELVNs, but don't know where to begin. As well, I hope it might also spark some curiosity for those who might have little-to-no interest in OELVNs. This will be by no means a comprehensive list. It is one put together through the generous input of a handful of Fuwanovelers and through other resources and reviews that I could find on the internet. What do you mean by 'notable'? This is not an exact qualification. I'm taking titles that have interesting sounding narratives, favorable critical reception, or professional quality production value and putting them together in a list that will hopefully be of interest to those interested in starting to read OELVNs. Some titles on this list will be commercial works, others will be free. Why are you writing this list? It's true that I myself have very limited experience with OELVNs, and I'm not the most comfortable putting together a list like this that doesn't rely heavily on personal recommendations, but it's a good chance for me to maybe discover new things to read as well as share what I find with the community. Now, without further ado... The Fuwanovel List of Notable OELVNS Air Pressure by Bento Smile Notable Tags: Only a Single Heroine, Multiple Endings, Lots of Choices This one is really short, but it has impact. Saying anything more might ruin the experience for you, it might be better to make the connections yourself. Where to play: Kongregate (online), Official Site (download) Analogue: A Hate Story by Christine Love Notable Tags: Mystery, Romance, Science Fiction If you keep up with visual novels, you're likely at least marginally aware of Christine Love and her works. Analogue: A Hate Story is an interesting work, putting you (the player) in the seat as a character in the novel, unraveling the grim details of what befell the crew of the Mugunghwa. If you are finding yourself put off by the art, you shouldn't let that stop you. It is an excellent story, with an interesting narrative device, that will likely leave some lingering feelings after all is said and done. You can find a demo here. The game has a direct sequel, Hate Plus: ~Mute's Golden Days~. Where to buy: Steam, Desura Autumn's Journey by Apple Cider Notable Tags: Otome Game, Fantasy This is a short one, clocking in at around an hour. The story and setting isn't my cup of tea, but it does have excellent production values. The art has a very professional luster and the music is excellent. There's really no downside to trying it out, it's free and the time commitment is minimal. Where to buy: Steam, Official Site Clannad -The Past Path- by Scope Games Notable Tags: Fan Fiction, 80's, Early Branching Plot, High Amount of Bad Endings I haven't played this one, but I thought it would be worthwhile to mention it. It's an unofficial prequel to Clannad made in the Ren'py engine. It's free and the developer's site says it takes between 5-10 hours to 100%. Be warned, it does contain spoilers for Clannad. Where to download: Ren'Ai Archive Death Rule: lost code by MESI Games Notable Tags: Multiple Stories, Battle Royale, Third Person Narrative Haven't played this one, but it's a death game story. Where to download: Official Site Digital: A Love Story by Christine Love Notable Tags: Linear Plot, 80's, Internet This is the spiritual predecessor to Analogue: A Hate Story, made for the NaNoRenO. It employs a similarly unconventional storytelling approach as Analogue: A Hate Story, with the narrative entirely unfolding through BBS conversations in the late 80's. It's a cool concept, the story is engaging, and it's free. If you plan on reading A Hate Story, consider reading this one first as some aspects of Hate Story will spoil the ending to Love Story. Where to download: Official Site Doki Doki no Obama by Chris Sommer Notable Tags: Parody, Politics This might seem like a joke suggestion, but I promise this game is actually fairly amusing. Where to download: Official Site Dysfunctional Systems: Learning to Manage Chaos by Dischan Media Notable Tags: Science Fiction, Female Protagonist This is the first episode of the Dysfunctional Systems story, with the second one slated for some time this year. Where to buy: Steam, Official Site Jisei, Kansei, Yousei by sakevisual Notable Tags: Murder Mystery, Superpowers This is a trilogy about a teenager with the power to relive the final, dying moments of corpses. The games look nice enough, has a pretty decent premise, and from what I can tell, get progressively better as the series progresses. You can find a demo on the official site below. Also available for iOS. Where to buy: Official Site Juniper's Knot by Dischan Media Notable Tags: Kinetic Novel, Multiple Protagonists, Demon Protagonist, Shota Protagonist Another NaNoRenO game, this one is a story told from two different perspectives. The art is very slick and you can't go wrong with the price tag of free. Where to download: Official Site Katawa Shoujo by Four Leaf Studios Notable Tags: Slice of Life, High School, Disabled Heroine This one doesn't need any introduction. It's probably the most high-profile OELVN. Chances are you've already played this one, and if you haven't, you probably need to look no further on this list to find what to read. Where to download: Official Site Leviathan: The Last Day of the Decade by Marcel Weyers & Lostwood LLC Notable Tags: Episodic Story, Cyberpunk, Dark Fantasy, Dystopia, Bloody Scenes An interesting premise and setting. It's an episodic game, with the 1st episode being free. They seem to be currently trying to fund the final episode. Where to download/buy: Official Site Long Live the Queen by Hanako Games Notable Tags: Raising Simulation, Medieval Fantasy, Female Protagonist It's hard to put into words just exactly why I enjoyed this game as much as I did. The art quality varies, topping out at alright and the music is pretty generic and forgettable. The "gamey" aspects of it lose value after a single play through. Reading it was fun though. Collecting all the ways the princess can die in an achievement collecting like fashion has a certain morbid charm to it and the setting is surprisingly grim. You can find a trial version on the official site below. Where to buy: Steam, Official Site Loren the Amazon Princes by Winter Wolves Notable Tags: Medieval Fantasy, Fantasy,RPG This is something of a visual novel/RPG hybrid, though. The RPG elements are a bit bland and the combat interface leaves a lot to the imagination, but it looks good, has an alright story, and it does have elements of character creation if you're into that sort of thing. The big downside is that the bundle that includes the dlc is a bit on the pricey side. Where to buy: Steam, Official Website Nicole by Winter Wolves Notable Tags: Otome Game, Mystery, Raising Simulation, Dating Simulation This one isn't really my kind of game, but it's worth mentioning. It looks kind of like your standard otome dating sim, but with the plus of having some great looking art assets. I've read that the writing is kind of cheesy, which could be a plus or negative depending on your tastes. On top of it all, there's supposed to be a yuri version of the game released at some point. You can find a demo on the official site below. Where to buy: Steam, Official Site RE: Alistair by sakevisual & Mugenjohncel Notable Tags: Otome Game, Dating Simulation Once again not exactly my kind of game, but the description makes it seem charming enough. The art looks decent enough, it's free, and its on the short side. Might be worth checking out. Where to download: Official Site Sunrider by Love in Space Notable Tags: Science Fiction, Mecha Combat, Starship Combat, War I'm currently playing through this one myself at the moment. The game looks nice in some select areas, but it is lacking in others and you may find certain 3D elements to be incongruent with the rest of the game. The story doesn't really seem that exceptional yet, but the game play is pretty decent and it's easily available on steam for the low time price of free. Where to buy/download: Steam That Cheap and Sacred Thing by carosene Notable Tags: Female Protagonist, Kinetic Novel, Science Fiction This one comes in at around an hour and I found it surprisingly touching. It has some pretty interesting (if common) themes, but they might seem a bit underdeveloped due to the length of the game. Nevertheless, it's a cool setting with a story that's worth the read. Check it out, it's free. Where to download: Lemma Soft The Dandelion Girl by /jp/ project Tags: Literary Adaptation, Time Travel, Kinetic Novel, Science Fiction, Adult Protagonist This is a literary adaptation of a short story by Robert F. Young. It seems to have a decent reception. If you're into that sort of thing, check it out: it's free! Where to download: VN-Meido The Elevator by Cyanide Tea Notable Tags: Adult Protagonist, Detective Protagonist, Slice of Life This is a free game that seems to be about a relatively simple, human story. I'm looking forward to setting aside the time to play it. Where to download: Official Site The Knife of the Traitor by Clua Notable Tags: Female Protagonist, Mystery, God Hero I included this on this list because of how interesting this title looks. The game's art and sense of style is eye-catching, the synopsis is very curious, and it's free and short. On the whole it looks like a charming title that's worth to try out. Where to download: Lemma Soft The Royal Trap by Hanako Games Notable Tags: Proactive Protagonist, Otome Game, Intrigue This one looks interesting. The art is decent, I actually hear the story is pretty good, and a premise of playing as a well-bred lady whose job it is to mold a prince into marriageable material is an intriguing premise. Throw in some court intrigue and I think this one is worth a look. Where to buy: Official Site The 39 Steps by The Story Mechanic Notable Tags: Literary Adaptation, Interactive Adventure Game, Protagonist with Voice Acting, Crime This is a curious title that never shows any of the characters on screen, but in its stead it's fully voice acted. An interesting concept. It is based on a book, which has a number of movie adaptations. From what I've heard, it's very faithful to its source material. Where to buy/download: Amazon, Steam Witches & Woodlands by Jan-Poo Notable Tags: Parody, Fan Ficion, Metafiction, Kinetic Novel I thought this might be of interest as this is a free Umineko fan parody. From what I've heard, it's actually pretty funny. Where to download: Official Site X-Note by Zevia Inc Notable Tags: Otome Game, Multiple Route Mystery, Murder Mystery It's an interesting synopsis, looks pretty good, and the few reviews I've found for it seem to be in agreement that the story is at least solid, if not good. There is a demo available on the site below. Where to buy: Official Site Some titles you might want to keep an eye out for in the future: Exogenesis - this one has really caught my curiosity. Lucid9 Huniepop - I'm far more excited for this one than I probably should be. Queen At Arms Violet Hill Waxwing Notable sites, tools, and resources: Planet EVN - a regularly updated blog about OELVNs Lemma Soft - discussion and development boards for visuals novels, datings sims, and story based games. Ren'Ai Archive - archive games made with the Ren'Py engine, a free software engine to build visual novels. Be weary, there's a lot of stuff in there that ranges from not-so-good to shit. Steam: Visual Novels Visual Novel Database Change Log: This list will continue to be a work in progress. I'm looking to further expand on it as I discover new titles and new games are released. If you have any suggestions on something to add or would like to point out something I glaringly missed, feel free to do so. Once again, this isn't a definitive, comprehensive list. It's not a list of 10 out of 10 games. They're "notable." You might find them interesting as fans of visual novels, you might even love them, but your mileage will vary. Credits: My thanks to Rooke, Ryechu, InvertMouse, and Down for their input in putting together this list.

  21. Hi all, I'm currently running a KS campaign for my latest game, the third and last title in the Tales From The Under-Realm series. It's dark fantasy, meaning all sort of bad things can happen, but I always guarantee the possibility to have an happy ending ! Here is the KS page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/winterwolves/tales-from-the-under-realm-lilith This series always had optional adult scenes, but this game is ... unlike anything I've done in the past, with full R18 stuff. Hopefully players will appreciate that! Here are a couple of previews, censored (in the game they won't be of course): Currently trying to reach a stretch goal that will enable one-night stand scenes with 4 secondary characters (more info in the KS page)!

  23. Lucid9 Kickstarter Launches January 1st, 2024! Exciting news, everyone! The Lucid9 Kickstarter is officially launching on January 1st, 2024! We've poured our hearts and souls into crafting this campaign, and we can't wait to share it with everyone. To be among the first notified when the campaign goes live, head over to our Kickstarter pre-launch page today! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/618620552/lucid9-a-mystery-visual-novel In the meantime, we're gearing up for launch by reaching out to content creators and journalists. During the month of January, we also plan to host a series of development livestreams. We'll be posting more details about the stream schedule and guest appearances as we draw closer to the new year. As we've always aimed to introduce more people to the magic of visual novels, we hope this campaign will reignite the spark of interest in Lucid9 that emerged upon its initial release years ago. With the backing of our passionate community through this Kickstarter campaign, we confidently anticipate completing the game by the end of 2024. And to further fuel your excitement, we're proud to unveil the brand-new story trailer today! Take a look! Why Kickstarter? Since its creation in 2014, Lucid9 has been in development for nearly a decade. Despite some notable releases, such as Inciting Incident in 2016 and the heroine prologues in 2019, progress has been slow and inconsistent due to the game being a free project. The COVID-19 pandemic has only made things more difficult, with many of us having less time and resources than usual. A Kickstarter campaign would allow us to complete the game in a reasonable timeframe and open up opportunities for additional features and polish, depending on the amount of funding we receive. Without funding, we are limited in the content we can create. A fully funded project would cover the cost of character sprites, backgrounds, CGs, music, programming, and writing, and potentially include additional art, voice acting, and an animated opening. While the full game will still be released for everyone to play for free, we have a number of exciting rewards lined up exclusive to backers, including signed physical illustrations, digital wallpapers, artbooks, Lucid9 themed t-shirts, and more! Story In the heart of the bustling metropolis of Isamu, Japan, a dark shadow looms over the esteemed Isamu Academy. Yama Ishimoto, an intelligent yet jaded high school student, finds himself thrust into the center of a chilling mystery as a wave of gruesome murders sweeps through the school. These killings bear an eerie resemblance to the unsolved Independent Murders that once plunged the city into chaos years ago. As Yama delves deeper into the enigma, he uncovers a labyrinth of secrets and hidden truths that intertwine with the city's dark past. With each revelation, he navigates a treacherous path that draws him and his companions closer to the heart of a sinister conspiracy that has cast a pall over Isamu. Lucid9 is a tale of suspense that delves into the depths of human nature, exploring themes of friendship, betrayal, and the unwavering pursuit of truth in the face of overwhelming darkness. How You Can Help We would be grateful if you would consider supporting our Kickstarter campaign. Every contribution, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated! You can pledge as little as $1, and every pledge will help us reach our goal. You can also share the project with your friends and family to help us spread the word. 24. Full Metal Daemon Muramasa (Soukou Akki Muramasa - 装甲悪鬼村正) JAST Store page (uncensored) GOG Store page (GOG version uncensor patch) SUMMARY This is not a story of heroes. Since time immemorial, warriors called musha have ruled the battlefield, granted supernatural power by their enchanted suits of armor - tsurugi. Minato Kageaki is one such musha, driven by duty to don his crimson armor and challenge the greatest evils of an age. But though madmen and tyrants fall to his blade, never will he claim that his battle is right. For the tsurugi he wields is cursed Muramasa, which five centuries ago brought ruin to the land, and innocent blood is the price it demands in exchange for its terrible might. "Where there are demons, I slay them. Where there are saints, I slay them." These words are an oath, the unbreakable Law binding him to his armor. But they also tell the story of his past, and of the future to come. ENDING GUIDELINE By default, Full Metal Daemon Muramasa has 3 routes, 2 of them initially unlocked (Hero and Nemesis). Completing both routes allow you to access the true end route: Conqueror. Other than that, you can complete any of those routes by any order. However, it is recommended for you to go through your first playthrough blind, so you'll be able to get the full feel of this story. To give you some hints: ROUTE GUIDELINE Hero Route [Ichijou Ayane end] Nemesis Route [Kanae Ohtori end] Conqueror Route [Evil Demon True End] Conqueror Route [Demon End] Conqueror Route [Devil End - Chachamaru] Attribution Guide from Otaku Lair - where this walkthrough is based and omitted Seiya-Saga - guide in Japanese
