Sunrider Academy isn't much of a VN either, atleast not from what I've seen so far. It's more dating sim with some VN elements.

Started playing Sunrider, quite nice so far. Seems a bit Mass Effecty which is definitely not a bad thing, unless they decide to end it in similar fashion.

It looks really good, until you get to the text under "News". Not really sure what exactly is wrong but something definitely is.

Yes it is, it might be the shittiest VN people seem to like(?) and recommend. It will eat your soul, kill your dog and sterilize your children. I don't remember anything of the one guy in Hoshizora no Memoria but otherwise it should fit in. Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate might also work even if there is no full patch yet. And if you are kind really open minded to what a cool guy is Koi iro Chu! Lips would work, no wincenst either though. And Sharin no Kuni might also fit in if you haven't played it. Ikinari Anata ni Koishiteiru doesn't have any friendly guys as far as i remember but there is some incest and plenty of school.

That was really sad and all but it was in my opinion a great ending. In many ways better than the "good" end.

So I just finished Tomoyo After and I'm starting to think Key novels aren't for me. I don't get what people find so great about them. But I still haven't read Air, Rewirte or Little Busters, so maybe I will find what others seem to like.

This is of course not true, everyone says it is necessary, but I didn't read Extra/Unlimited until after i read Alternative and it is not like you wouldn't understand Alternative without Extra/Unlimited. It should be seen as an recommendation. I too would recommend it.

False, while they have do a few decent songs, I find them highly overrated. The next person has never peed on snow.

Yes, but more importantly, Kanako. I immediately thought "hey, I wan't her route, how do I get to her route?" and the I found out there was no such thing. Kouchuu I could live without, but Bachou and Ryofu I want. Also after playing the demo for Princess Evangile I got the feeling there should be about 100% more routes.

Actually, about that, I did the apparently most unholy thing and read Alternative first. But how , I couldn't possibly understand anything of what is going on? Well actually Alternative does a pretty good job of setting things up, and the things you don't understand immediately you will understand sooner or later. I think because of this I appreciated Extra more than most people. Except for the lacrosse part, that still sucks. But I still probably wouldn't recommend doing it this way, because Unlimited kind of loses, well, everything. But it is absolutely not as bad of an idea as many seem to think. Also, Sumika

Hello there people. I'm somewhat new here, I, (there will be lots of I's here because lets face, I'm the one this is about) am a 21 year old human person(?) of the male type. I have been using the site for about a year for torrents and keeping an eye on translation progress and recently decided to create an account. And since I've got nothing better to do let me tell you about how I ended up on this site. It all started about a year ago, it was a cold Sunday in March, I was checking this little site called Reddit, maybe you've heard about it, and in the glorious /r/PCMasterRace subreddit there was a screen shot from some manga looking game with some text about how deep our glorious PC exclusives are. Now I'm not usually a big fan of manga and anime or Japanese stuff in general but something about this picture got me interested so I checked the comments and there I would find that this was from a Visual Novel called Katawa Shoujo. This was not the first time I had heard of Visual Novels, I had heard the usual "Japanese romance porn game" description and thought that it was nothing for me, because I am better than that. But when I read these comments I thought "hey, it's free and there is sexy bits, I like free and sexy stuff!" so off i went and downloaded this very visual novel I know I had looked down on others for playing. Later this Sunday I started playing and got surprised, this was not at all the sexy fun stuff i had expected but I kept on going and some hours later in the middle of the night I had finished Emis route. Feels had been felt like never before and I had found something I didn't know was there. I liked it a lot. After completing Lilly(best girl)s route I wanted to try reading another and stumbled upon this very site. Fast forward to today I have played 50+ VNs with some more or less completed due to various shitty/uninteresting plots or disgustingly annoying characters ("Onii-chan Onii-chan Onii-chan", shut the fuck up Chinami, nobody likes you anyway). Most of them 18+ as i tend to stay away from All ages due to my incurable perversion. I like mostly romance stuff, there not much romance in other video games so I'm glad that there is a lot to choose from. My favorite VN so far is Muv-Luv Alternative, big surprise I know, but Katawa Shoujo will always have a special place in my heart. Also, Grisaia no Kajitsu might be the most overrated VN in the world. That is all.

Pirating is usually more or less illegal. It's not something that is easy to enforce however. Licensing probably does not affect anything.

I would perhaps say go with the Android option if it weren't for plasticy Samsung made-in-china-toy-crap. Apple makes nice products and for a tablet the functionality is decent, but if I had a tablet a I wouldn't use it enough to get pissed of at all the limitations. But I'm sure there are other Android options that are not made from the cheap disgusting Samsung plastic. Look for those instead.
