Oh yeah, how could I forget Ikezawa Hanako in Katawa Shoujo, most people have probably read it but not all, and since I don't know what you have read ill just assume you haven't.

I haven't read Yume Miru' yet so I'm not entierly sure what you are looking for but the heroines that are distant and timid I know of are: Toono Minagi in Air Ichinose Kotomi in Clannad Nishizono Mio in Little Busters! Hinata Natsumi in Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo That's the one I can remember out of the VNs ive read, the most distant of them would be Kotomi. KEY sure loves their timid and distant heroines.

Clannad is the only one I can think of, and only parts of it, like maybe Fuukos route, common route and Nagisa's route, just not the final one. Though there may be some obscene jokes containing talk of porn magazines during common route with Sunohara if I recall correctly, it's been a while since I read it though. There aren't any other japanese ones on top of my mind, symphonic rain might work but it does have some dark parts, hints towards two people having sex and somewhat complex storyline. If you don't mind english produced one they would probably be the better choice tho they aren't usually as good, Ripples is an decent and very short one and maybe Always the Same Blue Sky, though I can't remember how the latter one went.

There is nothing special about it logically, and the reasons people celebrate can be different. Some may not even celebrate their birthday, reasons to celebrate could be: To commerate the day you were brought into this world. To celebrate the day your parents got a child. Your possible siblings got a sibling. Your grandparents became grandparents for the first time or again. And some may just use it as an excuse to eat cake and be with friends That's pretty much why I do anything special during my birthday. Etc, etc, the list could probably go further if I weren't tired.
