  1. If your looking for a game, I know of a few and although I haven't played any of them, they are constantly recommended and generally known as great systems. Most of you would have already heard of GURPS, a p&p rpg framework that allows you to play in basically any setting, Another popular one is a classic for cyberpunk settings, the game cyberpunk (yup, it was pretty much a given) Warhammer, as it is in one of the videos you posted Shadowrun, is another cool cyberpunk one There are some other generic frameworks but because of it's popularity, GURPS probably has you covered. Although, a popular game with an already established world with lots of quirk and charm like the ones stated above and D&D will probably fit your needs as a group the best. The different systems and worlds these types of games establish gives you a lot to explore in the ways of creating a character unique to you and giving you a unique experience that you could only have with those unique systems in tandem with their setting.
  2. All I can say is for an immediate result that's simple to pick up I would say Sony Vegas, for a slide show type video, your regular windows movie maker would suffice. But if your super invested and wanna take video making all the way, adobe after effects in tandem with Photoshop and the other programs that come in the package would be the ones for you. They are a bit more technically difficult to pick up, but with its popularity and the amount of tutorials and community generated effects, you have yourself a keeper. But do keep in mind that, just because a video is more technically complex doesn't mean it's better than a simple one. It's all about the person behind the video and how their opinion jives with the community of people they want to reach.
  3. Meat, recruited and reporting for duty
  4. I think as an experience, role playing over chat and roll playing using voice are very different experiences. Although, the overall tone of "I'm a character in a fantasy world" isn't lost, but you lose a lot of possibilities in play. I don't have much experience in p&p rpgs having only played a few games, but I have had many a moment where having a voice gave me more versatility and comfort than typing out words on my keyboard could. Personally, I haven't tried it using IRC but, I think I would use it a more of a last resort because of the fun having a voice brings. The chink in the armour of my argument is that you don't have many choices when it comes to GM's, so the more experienced, the better to ease you into a world. So, although you lose something in the experience, you gain a lot more overall.
  5. If you're looking for a game master, It would be recommended for you to specify what game you want a GM for. Like, if you're into sci-fi or just like the classic D&D setting. For more universal appeal, D&D would be the best choice as a lot of people know either how to play, or just know of the series of pen and paper rpgs. So, it gives people a base to work off of in terms of knowledge about the game and its rules.
  6. Slowly going insane, nor really though.

  8. Last Year, Aaeru started a post about the VNTL of the Milkey Holmes PSP game. Nothing really came of it until it was brought up in the fuwanovel IRC yesterday, so as a result I have tested the year old translation patch for the game and here were findings: So from the first few minutes, I can say that it was written in proper English. Just a picture: Although, it works on the JPCSP and PPSSPP emulators, I had problems with the sound as the music wouldn't play and in-game cinematic did not play with sound. The regular PCSP emulator did not work at all and the PPSSPP virtual memory stick wouldn't load either. It is said to be a complete translation and has been confirmed by a user to be just that. The sound is also said to work on a jailbroken psp, music and all. Here are some links: and I'm sure you can find the emulators yourselves.
  9. "Flesh is for your protection, but meat is for everyone... but herbivores" - Meat (2013) But seriously, my favourite quote is
  10. Its a testament to what a cult following can do for a game. I on the other hand, have better things to do. Right Zack?
  11. "coughs up blood"... "passes out".
  12. Way to strike the iron while its hot. I've been going to the site everyday for about year for news and VN stuff and finally decided to checkout the forums and register. I wish I was more like you, but we're here now. Let's enjoy our time here! :)/>/>/>

  15. I'm in the Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn Beta, so I thought it would be cool to show you what the revamped game is like. These were my final moments in phase 3 of the beta before the character wipe. I'm pretty cute eh. Some cool dude in armour I saw. Me and my buddy, AFK guy. No, I did not plan on him closing his eyes during the split-second it took to take the picture. I mean... He wouldn't dare violate me... would he? WHY AM I BLUSHING!?!
