  1. I have no idea where to find it online. I asked about it 2 years ago and was told that I could get it by going through the Japanese version of Amazon using a proxy. I REALLY don't want to do that. Is there anybody out there that can locate it? It was apparently 3000 yen when I asked 2 years ago. Actually I would prefer a legal digital copy from somewhere if that's possible.
  2. I've been learning Japanese over the last year or so and want to test my reading ability to see what I have to improve on and how my "skill level" is. Are there any recommendations? I prefer VNs similar to Da Capo or most Key games such as AIR and Kanon, but if there are any easier ones, feel free to recommend.
  3. I'm looking for the MOON. visual novel. I don't really want to go any higher than $20. Anybody know a place where I can buy it? If not, where can I get it?
  4. Yeah...I kinda worried it would sell for that much. That's one of the few times where torrents would be beneficial...especially when it comes to playing a visual novel that is very good since there won't be a lot of people who will buy a game for that much (espeically with the "specials" that comes with it). The remake...is it going to be in English or is it going to be Japanese only? I don't feel like waiting for another fan translation to come out...assuming they would still be willing to re-translate it. Another one that comes to mind (although it's debatable on whether it's even a visual novel) would be the English translation of Princess Maker 2...where the physical copies never actually made it to retail. It's actually a pretty good game if you can still find it. For current games though...in all honestly, I don't have a problem supporting most games that have a "reasonable" price...no higher than $50 for me including shipping. The damn shipping charges really rub me the wrong way though...that's why I would prefer to get games digitally if possible like Manga Gamer goes. It's too bad I don't know a service that offers that for Japanese games as well as the ability to patch digital games with english patches. It isn't meant to sound like an excuse, but it would be so much more accessible to have a universal website to download visual novels that are both Japanese and English that can be patched with fan translation patches. Less wait, less money spent, and it's only just a click away if you need to reinstall it. I REALLY don't want to get into arguments when it comes to physical VS digital though. For $40, Cross channel is worth it. I wouldn't go much higher than that though, especially if you factor in shipping charges. I like it more than most of my actually video games and I've read it through multiple times...though I do have to say that it isn't for everyone. But with torrents gone...you won't know unless you are willing to gamble a bit.
  5. You shoud really sticky this and maybe update it if you have the time. Though I would prefer digital games, hard copies aren't so bad if they aren't that expensive and you are willing to help us out and point us in the right direction if we want one. And maybe name the English title of each game under it? That way there won't be any real reason to pirate since it's all kind right in front of us. You found the Yu-No visual novel at all?
  6. Any ideas?
  7. Fate/Stay Night Realta Nua on the PS Vita.
  8. In the opening movie, if I click to skip the movie, the game freezes up UNLESS I press Esc. By doing that, it brings up a small menu that allows me to either Exit the game or "return" to the title menu. After this, everything works fine (at least so far it does....) I had it installed onto my computer before. I tried changing the directory and installing the patches in the right order. I have no idea what could be wrong with it.
  9. Yeah if somebody is brave enough (or foolish enough) to help with starting the project and finishing it this time.
  10. Just a bit annoyed that the game expansion was C&Ded when somebody was willing to work on it and finish the whole thing and there was no intention of releasing the expansion fully translated. I felt the same way with AIR but thankfully it got translated. It isn't really an obsession...more like I am a bit annoyed with the way things are working out for businesses vs independent translators. Companies can take an existing script from a game that is C&Ded and finish it and sell it on the market like a few other visual novels that were close to completion and I would be willing to pay the money since the translator's intentions were just to make the game accessible to the english market. Yeah I knows -_- I'd be willing to risk it as long as I delete this thread if someone was willing to start it. I'm sure the company wouldn't like it if they got their hands on this thread but I'm sure NOBODY will go and tell them what I want to do... >_< The partial patch I have right now on Da Capo PC...it kinda sucks how part of it was cut on purpose when it is a perfectly good patch...I wonder what happened to the original translator anyways?
  11. Handle (the one you use or plan to use): AdventSign Positions you can fill: Editor/Proof Reader/Quality Checker (English only) Types of projects (VNs) preferred: Romance, Drama, Slice of Life. Titles similar to Kanon, Air and Da Capo. I'll take anything though. Availability (edit this one as you get involved in projects): Unavailable (Currently working on Loverable) VNs most interested in producing an ftl for: Mainly Da Capo Plus Communication since half the script is already translated. After that, I would want to assist with working on C&D titles if someone were to try to bring them back through a stealth patch or through companies that no longer care whether a game is C&Ded or not (Air is a shining example of this). Then I would want to work on expansions/fan disks that were never translated. Dropped projects would also be up there on my list of things I want to do (I do hate it when projects get dropped or C&D at roughly 90-99% completion...). If nobody is willing to risk being C&D on games that have been for years, then I will help on new projects. Motivation for joining in on ftl: I want visual novels to actually come to the West without being butchered and "getting the short end of the stick" and I'm also annoyed about visual novels that are given up on because of being C&Ded (If My Heart Had Wings is an excellent example of a botched "translation" and the Da Capo Expansion that was about to be done by Arkanos but was C&Ded is another good example). I'm willing to take risks and work without anyone taking notice if another translator is. Conditions (any additional conditions, under which you will or won't work): I don't like editing rapes but if someone would like help doing those kind of visual novels, then so be it. I do not wish to work with a group that will need to suspend a project unless it is a personal issue (aka not slacking off). If it is personal, then I don't mind if a person takes a week off or a year off (although I hate leaving projects unfinished...but a person's health comes first). Contact: [email protected] or my cellphone if I get to trust the person I am working with enough. My Skype is AdventSign although I only go online when there is somebody else who wants to communicate with me. E-mails that are sent to me go directly to my phone, so you'll hear back within a few hours.
  12. Oh it doesn't matter how long it takes...I can't do much cuz I know next to nothing about Japanese save for 100ish kanji and Hiragana. I could try paying but I'm a student so I don't got that much money. I am a fan of Nemu and not Kotori. I tried Da Capo Innocent Finale and although it was good, I didn't like how it was focused solely on her. The best I could do is edit the English version is it is translated. I'll ask on the other forum. I hate posting the same topic in multiple threads though.
  13. I know it is licensed to Manga Gamer but they really haven't done the expansion (and I doubt they ever will since it was released by them in 2008). Is it possible if someone could translate the expansion bit and make a patch for it that adds on to Da Capo that Manga Gamer is selling to attempt to avoid a C&D like what happened years and years ago?
