My favorite heroine and route is Anzu by far. She's absolutely adorable and I find her personality to be really endearing and her route itself is just wonderfully done.

There are a lot out there but I do have a few personal recommendations Canvas 2 seems to have a lot of mixed opinions but it has a solid story, with even the protagonist getting some development in each route, and I for one absolutely loved it. The Da Capo trilogy is one of my favorites, with a solid story and very likable characters that seem to make an impact even on future entries, even if indirectly. My favorite entry by far being Da Capo II Hoshizora no Memoria is my favorite VN of all time and a very solid slice of life story. Kira Kira doesn't really have the school setting for a majority of the story but it has some great characters that get a lot of development, though it does have one very depressing ending. Shuffle is a VN that seems to have very divided opinions, and while I didn't absolutely love it, I liked it, at least enough to recommend giving it a shot. And finally is To Heart 2, which I absolutely loved even despite the protagonist being dumber than a rock at times. It has a lot of heroines and routes of varying quality, most of the routes ranging from good to great, but I feel like with the sheer number, there's something there for everyone.

Ehhh, I dunno. He IS dense in some ways but that's to be expected with his background. With that said I think that what it boils down to is less that he doesn't realize and more that he doesn't really know what to think of it, though once he does figure it out and takes action, absolutely nothing will get in his way. All in all, I actually really liked the way that they handled it.

I enjoyed the VN as a whole but I've gotta say that Sasara's route, while filled to the brim with great ideas, was pretty bad. The story made no sense, the actual romance was executed horribly though it was good in concept, and perhaps worst of all was that the ending, while again good in concept, was executed horribly. It came completely out of left field and completely went against everything that had been shown not even five minutes prior without even attempting to bridge the gap somehow to lessen the slap to the face. Basically, there was loads of potential throughout the route but due to horrible execution and at times lazy writing it just didn't work, at all.

I haven't gotten around to actually starting it up yet so I can't say much but I will say that it seems like you should probably avoid incest routes in their entirety as that same plot seems to be the premise for at least 90% of other imouto routes from the vns that I've read at least, most of them also having the same shortcomings.

Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai, aka Majikoi, can be pretty lighthearded most of the time, but when the drama hits it tends to hit big. Canvas 2 is another that I really enjoyed I also thoroughly enjoyed To Heart 2 There's also Harukoi Otome And as a special mention since someone already spoke of them, the Da Capo trilogy is fantastic, with 2 being one of my all time favorite vns.

Libra of the Vampire Princess - Releasing May 16th, 2017

I'm just going to point out that the examples you're using are not at all a new thing. In fact, Ocarina of Time was delayed a total of.. three? times, and it came out twenty years ago. Pokemon Red and Blue had the same issue and those also came out twenty years ago. And I'm positive that I could come up with more examples from even before then if I actually thought on it hard enough. Point is, it's nothing to do with the generation and more to do with unexpected issues cropping up. Since games and everything else have been getting fancier and fancier, an increase in delays is actually to be expected to a point. After all, it's much better to have to wait than to find something missing or otherwise. -
Basically feeling up to reading VNs that have some form of unconventional, or even forbidden, romance. Even if it's just one route. Basically stuff like incest, monster girls, student x teacher, stuff that's not really conventional by public standards if you will. Though I'm not sure if that makes much sense. Though I'm not really looking for stuff like yaoi, yuri, or harems, and the romance itself should be consensual.

My personal recommendation would definitely be Otoboku. While its plot isn't exactly the most amazing thing in the world, it has a lovable cast and is just a good time all around. Other than that, I've been going through Koitate and from what I've played of it so far, it seems like it's setting itself up to be something really amazing.

That's strange, I only seem to remember the after routes for the original heroines, and the Agave after story, being like that.
-
Alright this may seem like a bit of a strange request, and I apologize if this isn't really clear enough but here's the deal. Having played plenty of 18+ VNs in my time, I've been thinking that maybe It's time that I broaden my horizons a bit and try some All-Ages stuff. The problem is that I'm not sure where to even start. Basically what I'm looking for are VNs with at least one happy ending, preferably with choices and multiple routes. If it's a longer VN that would be nice too but short is fine too.
-
Yeah, basically this for me too. This may sound a bit strange, but I actually enjoy myself more if I have something else going on in the background to shift my attention to every now and again.
-
From what I've read of it so far (just got started with chapter 1) it would be most enjoyable with the previous two having been read first but so far it's done a pretty good job of setting up and explaining the way the Da Capo world works and previous events that have occured so I would say that yes, it can be read as a standalone title.
-
MG's business policies aside, I'm just super excited for this and can't wait for January 20th to come. The first Da Capo was in my opinion the very definition of average, but 2 quickly became one of my favorites. And I've heard that this is even better so I can't help but be super hyped for a chance to finally get to play it.
-
I'm not really too good at explanations so maybe someone else will be able to better explain this but.. There's a lot of inter-character relationship development, though a lot of it tends to be a bit more subtle. To be fair, especially in S, a lot of it IS restricted to the heroine routes but the first installment especially has a lot of relationship development starting towards the latter half of the common route and lasting all the way throughout the heroine routes.
-
Majikoi is a romantic comedy through and through but, while it never really gets all too serious or dramatic, except during a very few key moments, it does ease up a bit on the slapstick once you lock into a heroine route and start progressing a bit.

As much as I enjoyed Rewrite, and am looking forward to seeing the changes that they made for +, enough is enough.

There are actually a lot but a few of the biggest ones are: Tokyo Babel and Ayakashibito, Steins;Gate and Chaos;Head, Root Double, Muv-Luv, the entire Infinity series, and Sharin no Kuni. This may seem dumb but the main reason I've been sort of putting those off is that I'm kinda worried about how they may end, as I prefer my endings to be on a positive note. In Sharin no Kuni's case, the fact that it has both a Linear Plot and Multiple Endings tag on VNDB is kinda offputting.

Hmmm, there are actually a lot of anime that would fall in this area but there are two really good examples that I can think of: Astarotte no Omocha - A lot of people don't even give it a chance based on the premise but it was a very fun, and quirky little anime. Black Rock Shooter TV - This is a perfect example. I LOVE this anime to bits but only a handful of people seem to agree with me. I can't blame people for disliking it because the story is confusing and possibly even a little overbearing depending on your tastes, but I loved everything about it. The story, characters, and fights were all top notch and fit with the setting perfectly to me. A few others would be along the lines of Little Busters' anime adaption, Hidan no Aria, and heck despite it being incredibly average I even enjoyed Happiness! There are a bunch more I could list as my tastes are a bit different than others but I'll keep it at that.
-
I generally haven't had much trouble in my VNs but one example that immediately comes to mind is Katawa Shoujo for one route in particular. My first time playing through the entire thing I ended up getting the bad end twice in a row while aiming for Rin's route and I still can't help but feel that I got lucky with my choice combination, as to this day I still have no idea what her requirements actually are.

Don't use a walkthrough for your first playthrough, especially for a VN as big and rich in content as Clannad. In fact for Clannad in particular I would recommend not using a walkthrough at all until you've gotten close to finishing up and are missing a few things that you just can't seem to figure out. A VN like this one that, especially early on, puts most of the focus on the characters and their interactions with each other and the world at large rather than the plot itself is best explored on your own otherwise it loses a lot of its appeal in my opinion.
-
My only real suggestion that hasn't been listed yet is Princess Evangile with Ritsuko, though I'm not entirely sure if she would fully qualify. She certainly feels like one though, to me at least.
-
And with that being said, Angel Beats also has a VN adaption now, which is admittedly being released in parts but should still help to clear up those unresolved threads and whatnot.
-
Just saying, Angel Beats and Charlotte both had excellent writing, they were just far too short. The reason that they may have suffered in quality was P.A. Works as they were the ones that played the biggest part in the general direction and the episode count among other things.
