  2. The art on No Game No Life is also truly beautiful. It rivals the Stuff on Guilty Crown.
  3. Kuhaku is the best thing ever. I totally understand now why NoseBleed would change his avatar. They are in the Ranks of Shinobu. They are just pure epicness. Heck! Knowing that I still cannot read them I am about to import all 6 of the Light Novels Published so far.
  4. Name: Dark Ariel7 Title: Loli Smitten Avatar: My forum avatar is fine Gender: Male Birthday: January 29 Favorite Visual Novel: Majikoi Card based on: No Game no Life
  5. Fakku is my #2 most visited site. Yes I read doujinshi.
  6. Well no of course not but to put it in an extreme example if you learn every word in the Japanese language except all or most of the one that come up in the LN that you are looking to read, you still cannot read that LN. Objectively and from a results only point of view, you wasted your time. Eventually I want to be fully fluent but since that takes too long one goal at a time.
  7. I find it to be the opposite. The actual japanese in the Vns is pretty simple vocabulary but the translators use the best words in english. In japanese everything is about context. In english we have different words for different nuances.
  8. you guys a re right. I will try to get a copy of the digital novel and copy the vocab there. Will also do motion verbs. Am I the only one that thinks that there should be a list of vocab directly aimed at Certain Genres of Light novels and VNs? Or at least to really popular Mangas like One Piece. I mean the color "purple" the word "ant" Never show up but they are in most basic lists of vocab so you learn them as a waste of time.
  9. I want to expand my vocabulary but cant seem to get into the groove of things. I thought I would simply copy the dictionary and all of its entries one by one to see what sticks. I figured there should be a better way, though, right? I want to expand my vocabulary as fast as possible with the limited scope of being able to read はぐれ勇者の鬼畜美学(Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero) So I don't want to waste my time learning the names of animals and colors and household items. I know I will need them eventually and do plan to learn them but I want to be able to read as much of the Novels as soon as possible. Where do I get a list of words that would be most likely to all appear in a Light Novel like this?
  10. Hardcover is fine. I will buy that one most likely but reading off the Amazon website is hard due to the many kanji and lack of context. Looks to be better than the Kodansha stuff.
  11. I want paper only. I prefer the feel and enjoy looking through the pages for the answer. I also want it to copy it several times. Plus while I study I need the dictionary but I get distracted if I am hooked up to the internet.
  12. I just hit the level of having usable grammar. My vocab is lacking. I am about to enter into translating for fun. To start I need the best possible dictionary. What is the best Japanese Dictionary that I can get for under 100 and the best I can get for under 50 dollars. The name Kodansha seems to come up a lot on my search. Dictionaries have very similar names from the same publisher so please be as clear as possible about the best one. I want as many entries and examples as possible. Japanese to English needed English to Japanese optional. Need one Dictionary under $100 and one under 50$. Please either post the ISBN or a link to the book.
  13. It has taken me about 3 years but that is a horribly inflated number. I have not worked on my Jp for 2 of those summers none of the springs 2 of the winters. Last time I sat down to study was over 4 months ago. Actual work puts me at about 1 year of work.
  14. I can probably do that with the grammar I have now but definetly not with the vocab and lets not even get into the kanji. another 500 vocab/kanji and I will feel confident about reading most things. i am making that my goal by the time I start college in the Fall.
  15. Kanji is always a pain. I am only at about 500-1000. Vocab was easy for me though. I have about 5K hours of anime watched. It just got drilled into me. I am starting to need more though. Honestly for Japanese web pages I still cannot do it very well at all. The pure Japanese and high Character content intimidates me. That is why I am nervous to actually try to read a Ln. Up until now I have only read with a visual aid.
  16. Ha Ha. No discouragement here. I can already read Vn but with a lot less understanding than One Piece. I have Read all of the Routes for all 3 of the Majikoi A series + Agave route. I can read Vns Ok. I though LNs would be much harder than Vns and Manga. I assumed they were full fledged books.
  17. Hey guys. I finally got my skills to the point where I can read one piece pretty damn well. I still miss some sentences but the message gets across. Only missing the Kanji. Thank God for Furigana. I feel AWESOME about it. just wanted to share this with people that might be able to appreciate the effort it took to get here. (AKA bragging I guess?) How hard is one piece by the way? Like in terms of JLPT and a full Light Novel?
  18. I am waiting for Delta Emerald.
  19. I figured that they might have it at little tokyo but I wanted to know the name of the store that might have it. I know they have the english version for sure but was not too sure on the JP version. called the store you mentioned. They have it. Thanks. Ive actually only ever been to little tokyo once before and only for a short duration so I am not familiar with the stores around there.
  20. I really want to get my hands on volume one of One Piece in JP but I dont want to wait weeks for it to get here and maybe get lost in the mail. Is there a place in LA where I can buy it?
  21. Holy crap. At this rate we may double the original 100 pages goal.
  22. the Kuki 4 IS bad end is for sure the worst bad end in all of Majikoi.
  23. She has a Docking feature!!! You combine the red one and the yellow one.
  24. I always knew Nosebleed was cool. Thanks for not locking the thread. I really like our pointless chatter.
