  1. The movie support would probably be a long while later; Android Ren'py can't support it at its current state. I'd personally prefer more image transition support. @Tay: Do you have any friends who are good with Android coding? I've got a game that needs some permissions editing.
  2. If you try to rename the .ipa to .zip and extract the files, usually all the scripts will be in one folder. If you're lucky, the script will be in .txt format; otherwise it'll be some weird format. Are you planning to translate an iOS visual novel?
  3. Bumping an old post, because seeing other people's collections are cool~ This is from the latest Comiket 83: Limited PS3 edition of Tomoyo After. Available in very limited copies :D/>
  4. Coffee. Preferably hot, although I do drink canned cold coffee at times. Really necessary for games like YU-NO. Grinding text-adventure style VNs has never been so much easier with coffee~
  5. Same for me when I try to load Kanon standard edition. Maybe quick-loading using the volume buttons might help?
  6. -sees Arcueid's new casual outfit- Instant buy for me :3
  7. Yes, the really old SEEN.txt works on Android xClannad. However, Tomoya's name gets scrambled when I tried it. Not sure about yours though, xmbx. On a side note, any Reallive games can be played on this xClannad emulator. Just insert all the data files of that particular game into the sdcard/clannad folder and you're set. Here's a list of a few Reallive games: http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=User:RasqualTwilight/RealLive
  8. Yeah, it's running on Intel Atom with 1GB ram; reasonable enough for me. If you're planning to get surface, I think it'll be better to downgrade to Win 7 so you can play VNs with more compatibility. I remember Win 8 comes with free downgrades.
  9. Running on my new Viewsonic Viewpad 10 tablet running Windows 8 beta. Now I can play any VNs on-the-go
  10. I've made a small but incomplete list on my blog: http://visuallyneko.wordpress.com/android-games/ Moe Cure Net is way cheaper on iOS though. http://vndb.org/r?q=&fil=lang-en.plat-ios (For English-only VN releases on iOS) To sum it up: iOS has more exclusive VNs ranging from mediocre to great, and Android has many VN hacks and ports such as Onscripter and Ren'py for Android.
  11. I thought there's already a full patch out? It translates all the text, only not tested for bugs. Latest patch is 0.3 https://bitbucket.org/truneet/milky-holmes-psp
  12. It does work already on JPCSP, from Rev 2751 onwards. To play the voices, you can use the same method of running the voices in Hakuouki PSP (SonicStage).
  13. Come to think of it, another really awesome horror VN on the NDS is Nanashi no Game. It has an English patch so try it out for a really scary experience. Also, Corpse Party has a remake based on the PC98 version, you should try it out if you haven't already: http://www.memoriesoffear.com/games_corpsepartypc98/index.html
  14. Hey qberty! Nice seeing you around here finally. Your Omega VNengine is really awesome; it's easy to get started with the simplistic commands. Hope this goes really far in Android VN making Hmm, about what VNs to avoid... anything guro is a no-no for me. Horror is still acceptable though, but usually these two things always come together :3
  15. Current compatibility is really low, even for 2D games. Well at least Puyo Pop and Puzzle Bobble can run almost perfectly. Give it about a couple of months before visual novels can run well with PPSSPP.
  16. The lighting does give it an underground feel, haha. I did went to Ikebukuro but didn't explore much, only went to Toranoana and a trading card game shop. I probably went past Otome Road without even knowing. I was looking for a physical copy of "The Second Reproduction", kinda hard-to-find doujin vn.
  17. Mandarake is awesome for their wide catalog of commercial and doujin visual novels. I'd recommend the Shibuya outlet, they have some rare stuff like Tsukihime for 5000+ yen, which is kind of a steal I think. Strangely enough, the 1st Muv-Luv game has become a premium VN too, fetching higher prices lately.
  18. Yeah, they're all original (it's Japan, I don't think ANY shop there sells pirated stuff lol). The thing is that they're incomplete and are second-hand, hence the way cheaper prices.
  19. @meru: It'll be cool if you opened up an ordering service! I'd like to get me some visual novels from Japan I went to Akihabara recently, and I remember Traders having visual novels at bargain prices. Like, 100-200 yen prices, but they didn't have dvd cases/boxes; I didn't complain though, they were cheap. I ended up buying a chunk of visual novels and other games too there:
  20. I don't think so. Only gen 3 and above, sadly.
  21. Some time ago I posted on running KEY games on iOS devices: http://visuallyneko.wordpress.com/2012/08/21/about-xclannad-and-ios5-crashes/ Apparently, it doesn't play well with firmwares 5.00 and above. So Ritualist decided to create a guide one running Little Busters EX specifically for these devices: http://www.textswell.com/read,4223479292741 If anyone has LBEX and an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch lying around (and jailbroken also), hopefully you can try this out. I've been too busy with money grinding work in office~
  22. This is a good read on how nukige slowly evolved into nakige (crying game): http://www.shii.org/geekstories/eroge.html In short, back in the PC98 days, H-games were the driving force in computer sales. Yeah, sex used to sell in the past. And it still does now.
  23. I haven't tried out otome games much, but I think The Second Reproduction is a good doujin otome game that has a full English translation. The artwork is pretty, for one.
  24. This is a good example of "good game catered to wrong market". I don't think the majority of Americans are interested in this kind of game. They prefer fps/fighting games/etc. Visual novels are a niche market over there, catering to anime/manga lovers as such. And yes, the drawing is horrible enough as it is, but MangaGamer had to further butcher the soundtrack with boring, repetitive music. =.= Off-topic: Nice to see another Singaporean who enjoys visual novels lol~
  25. Let's just form a Lazy Club. Where you stare at your computer monitor 24/7, haha. I'm getting some spare cash soon, so I'm thinking of what Android VN to get though. Then esperknight can get around to hacking too~
