Yo people! I'm back! This time, I prepared a list of VN hybrids for everyone who appreciates a bit more than just picking choices and still wants some boy x boy action. This list is rather limited, sadly, but I still manage to find a game to each degree of gameplay you might like! Here we go! I want just some stats rising and manage daily life: Seiyuu Danshi This counts? Yes, it does. Some people just play Persona because of its "Friend Simulator" mode. But unfortunately, Atlus didn't give us the option to date boys in their game while playing with the male MC (actually, you CAN hook up with your childhood male friend in Persona 2, but that game is very different from newer Persona, I still recommend it though). So, how about we, instead of living the life of a high school kid, live the life of guy trying to become a voice actor? That's what this game promises you. But what will you do to make your wish come true? Train a lot? Take tons of jobs? Or leave it all to chance and only date every single guy you encounter? You decide! This game features an interactive map and even have side quests! And the most interesting/different feature is the foreplay mode, you know, a part of the h-scenes BL games loves to neglect, totally interactive here! The game is NOT OUT yet, but their KS was successful and you can play the demo in english already! I want RPG battles: Angel's Feather This game got you covered! It have swords, princes, fantasy aspects, angel magic, map movement, all your good old RPG have! Sure, it looks a bit outdated (it's from 2003 actually), but this is inda charming like that, right? At least for me. It have plenty of romance in the plot and all sexual content is avoidable, if you're not in the mood for it (it happens). Only in japanese for now, but there's people interested in translating this in BL-oriented forums, so maybe we'll have a patch soon? Let's pray! Supposedly, there's an OVA of this, but it's too rushed >.< I want Point and Click/ Adventure style: Bizarre school exploration of Kazuma and Kugayama From doujin circle Sakuraprin, this game may have better porn than exploration. But the horror atmosphere they create, even with 8 bit graphics, is outstanding! Well, they clash a bit with the CGs and sprites, but we can't complain about their voluptuous guys (dem thighs) and fantastic ahegaos. In this game, not only we interact with the creep school scenery, but also with our hero Kazuma. We can raise our affection points with him... poking him. Just don't be rude, guys. And be prepared to CG hunt, because they stuff their game full of CGs! Also, this game is free! I want fast minigames: Chiralmori Nitro+Chiral, the giant of the BL market, wouldn't be out of this list. Before making DMMD fan disc (that also have minigames, but you have to actually read DMMD first to fully appreciate all there is here), they released this short cute game. It's pretty much a glamurous poker and tetris game with TnC and Lamento characters, without sexual content, but can a fan of these series really ignore this adorableness? It's good to kill some time and a way to not waste money in poker. It also includes a typing mini game, but... I have no idea how this works, nor why N+C have such a obsession with typing mini games... I want something really unusual: The Chiral Night Rhythm Carnival How about some BL themed Guitar Hero then? No, seriously. Released back in October, this game contains music from the four major series of N+C and a story mode that put all the boys from those games together, Chiral Cafe style. No sexual content, but still a very fun game! Sadly, there's no sign of a hard copy and N+C site doesn't ship to my country, but there's a demo available in their homepage that contains the intro songs of the four games! If anyone ends up playing, feel free to ask for my high scores for comparison hehehe! I'm not that good though. Anything else? Not VNs, but you can also find your share of BL in Dragon Age or Mass Effect series. Naturally, they have tons of gameplay. Those should keep us occupied for a while, so let's end here! Next time, otome news: and KS campaigns! Until then! EXTRA: If you want a bit more action with gay subtext, try Metal Gear Solid. It's glorious!

In my case, I was unlucky bc french was mandatory from 5th to 9th grade in my school not in the country. And the teachers loved to pull stuff like: in class is "je mange du pain", in test is a page long unknown fairy tale with some really old words... And I probably answered the questions about it with something nonsense in the context like "je suis allé a la plage" bc that is one of the only things I remember of french now.

I agree with Ange and Papa. I like to hate some characters. Like Matou Shinji, every time he wasn't on screen I ended up looking forward to the next ass thing he would bring to the story :3 The ones that I "hate" are the ones that only bored me, brought nothing to the story and tempted me to press ctrl. Like half of Comyu's cast. Oh, that rule doesn't apply to abusive love interests that "rape out of love" and the game actually paints this as good natured (no problem if the game treats this as unhealthy and an insane type of love). Those I just hate and can die in a fire ten times over!
-
Yeah, I can definetly relate with that! And I also don't like french very much, but that may have something to do with childhood trauma bc I had some horrible french teachers back in middle school *sobs*

No love for portuguese? It's my first language. Well, I like german bc I like how those overlong full of consonant words sounds. Also korean, not necessary to elaborate.

Just finished Dramatical Murder, probably the most popular BL novel around. I'm always afraid to try super popular things bc overhype kinda ruins the experience in the end, but I'm glad this didn't happen here The game really is pretty good, upbeat and light-hearted but with a good dose of feels. The characters were also interesting and that made each route better than the last! Later today, I'll probably finish Nurse Love Addiction, my first Yuri VN. Aaaah, what a cute game this is! All of these girls are so adorable and Asuka is such a funny and nice MC! But WHAT DA HELL WERE THOSE BAD ENDINGS?????? They pulled some really creepy stuff, but Asuka was with a pure smile in her face in all CGs. Damn, Itsuki's one was...
-
I agree with your points. Mary really was a weak MC and the character arcs didn't work as good there in comparison with Inganock. I'll wait for your impressions when you finish the game then!
-
I'm curious, what were your problems with Sharnoth? I pretty much skipped Gahkthun because Sharnoth wasn't as good as Inganock, so I didn't wanted to feel disappointed if the quality went down again. I agree with you that the atmosphere was awesome and the mini game was boring, so maybe I could give Gahkthun a chance?

Need help using VNR on Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de

No, I never used ITH before (maybe I got lucky with my novels...). Did you try to look here for a solution? This thread teaches you about how to use ITH. -

MaggieROBOT replied to Hapsiel's topic in Voluntary Tech Support
Hmm... based on what you're saying, yes, VNR is not finding a text thread. A hook code should probably make everything work. ITH is the best way to extract these codes, too bad you couldn't make it work :/ -

Need help using VNR on Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de
MaggieROBOT replied to Hapsiel's topic in Voluntary Tech Support
First of all, is this the PC version? VNR have a low success rate with emulators. Second, run the novel and in the VNR blue side menu, enter Text Preference under the first option. In the window that pops up, try to: 1) Change the text encoding to JIS, UTF16 or UTF8. Pick the one that gives you boxes with actual japanese text and not gibberish. 2) Check the first option "Keep all threads... blah blah blah" and hit the blue "Save" at the top. 3) Check if the box with the correct text in marked as "dialog" above it. Then go back to the novel and advance the text. If still nothing, try using ITHVNR or Chiitrans. -
BL and gameplay (varying degrees)
MaggieROBOT commented on MaggieROBOT's blog entry in Maggie's journal
Yeah, Andromeda's romance options (all of them actually) are weird, the intimate moments are all poorly written and laughable awkward with those animations and all... I didn't played Inquisition yet (like you said, the game is pretty long and all that) but I heard that you have total control to "keep going" with the relationship with him or be just flirtatious friends! It's nice to have options, yk? So yeah, that made various little interesting things that adds to the character, and that's pretty good! And the game also have Yuri routes, so everyone can celebrate. -
One Thousand Lies (free VN review)
MaggieROBOT commented on Plk_Lesiak's blog entry in EVN Chronicles
Pretty much. In the list of dumb things I read are: people bashing otomes bc "it's a VN and they are horrible in comparison with VNs like S;G" (like VN is a genre...), BL games bc they have gay sex (like duh), Yuri games bc they doesn't have dicks (like duh 2), trap games bc people feel cheated (like this blocks you of liking the character, yea right...), and western VN bc western (I'll not even comment anything). This saddens me. Really. -
One Thousand Lies (free VN review)

You know what? At least for me, a first timer's opinion is as valuable than one from a veteran. I mean, sure, someone who played a lot of certain genre clearly knows what makes them so special, but a first time sometimes picks things up that veteran already are, I don't know, desensitized (is that a proper word?) and thus provide some fair, unbiased opinion. Ofc, if they are willing to give one, bc some dumb people just play like minutes of games of a genre they dislike only to bash it. -

My favorites are "Pounded In The Butt By My Own Butt" and "Pounded In The Butt By My Book "Pounded In The Butt By My Book 'Pounded In The Butt By My Own Butt'"" Seriously, I nearly suffocate laughing the first time I read those titles. -
