  1. From what I've seen of your interests I'm going to go back on my recommendation. Marginal Operation is probably not for you (then again you said you probably weren't going to read it anytime soon, anyway).
  2. Asagiri Kaito (Akatsuki no Goei series)
  3. Oh wow I'm not sure how I managed to miss the signs, lol.
  4. Wondering, which game made you feel this way? Of the games on the list, I liked December without Angels/Tenshi no Inai 12-Gatsu (though generally not all that highly-regarded), but I can't remember off the top of my head any ending where the MC and heroine are actually apart (then again, neither do they tend to be 'together', per se). Oh, there was that one But I don't think that counts as a parting ending.
  5. Komaeda Nagito (DR2) Mikado Chihaya (Otoboku2) Asagiri Kaito (Akagoei) Takizawa Tsukasa (Haruka ni Aogi, Uruwashi no) Tohno Shiki (Tsukihime)
  6. something something check the date
  7. It wasn't axed per se. From what I understand the mangaka had too much planned and couldn't figure out a way to tie it all together so just kinda shrunk the scope as to be able to give it an ending.
  8. Really. They didn't do Yui? I'm surprised. In any case, I don't think the manga last arc was that bad. I was also fairly satisfied with Keima's girl of choice.
  9. Well, I mean, a single word in Japanese can warrant an entire sentence in the target language, depending on context. If you can give an example, it would be of a lot more value to the discussion. If nothing else, for the benefit of those of us who aren't likely to read the translation.
  10. I'm pretty sure the common consensus is that they're working on Miagete Goran. I'd be rather surprised if they announced that they were done with Flight Diary out of nowhere.
  11. Manga > Brotherhood > original
  12. The art on Shuumatsu no Sugoshikata looks really familiar, but I don't recognize any of the works by the artist. Wonder what it reminds me of?
  13. Oh, hey. Someone actually likes Pumpkin Scissors. I haven't read into this manga too much but Marginal Operation should suit your fancy.
  14. Good old Mahoujin Guruguru. I remember watching that back in the day. In any case, I am dropping UQHolder. I was already getting bad vibes from them dropping Shinobu's episode, but ep 3 seals it. I mean, I knew it was going to be rushed considering how far into the story they're apparently planning to go, but this is just terrible.
  15. Out of curiosity, how did Conjueror translate Bakasumi in Dies Irae?
  16. IDK. Off the top of my head the only manga series I can think of that do this are of the Shoujo variety. The thinking-with-eyes-closed variant is way more common and often seen other genres, as well, but I don't think that one's as weird.
  17. I feel like this is a thing specific to Shoujo manga. Though, you're right. I must have gotten so used to it that it just naturally registers as the character smiling.
  18. I don't think they do. When I interned in Japan, the company had something translated by a "professional" service. They gave it to me for a last check and boy was it bad. But they wouldn't have had a problem using it had I not been there.
  19. While what you say is good, I feel like your examples for Asaba still ends up following the Asa+something structure.
  20. As-nine?
  21. Personally I hated the art in this game :/ My mid-game review here. I don't believe the endings are in a forced order, however. You basically choose one of three routes depending on whether you tap the die, shake the desk, or a combination. If there is a true route that is unlocked after those three routes (which I suspect - and hope - exists), I stand corrected.
  22. Personally, I don't need a translation since I've already read the game in Japanese. I just hate to think English speakers' first exposure to this VN is going to be a mess.
  23. I mean, you do hear things like "You're bats/batty" to mean someone's crazy, etc, but.... (bats/batty comes from "bats in the belfry", which in itself is a phrase I've never heard of) I don't think any average English speaker is going to get what bat is supposed to mean here lol. Edit: I think the last time I remember hearing bat used in this context is by the Joker, when he says something along the lines of "You're making me batty" to, guess who? Batman.
  24. So, basically what it says on the tin. Hikoukigumo no Mukougawa, a VN by Flat, is getting a translation, but by the infamous Sakura Gamer who seem to be pumping out one machine-translated games after the other. Apparent example of their translation brings further bad news by confirming that it is in fact machine translated. As someone who greatly enjoyed this VN, I'm very distraught by this news. Is there something that can be done to save it? Credit to /u/ShinRaikodou for bringing this news to attention.
  25. I liked Kodomo no Jikan. People against the work seems to be of the opinion that it unnecessarily sexualizes the under-aged girls, and usually points to another work (whose name I can't remember) that supposedly does the same without the sexualization. I'd offer Pumpkin Scissors here. It starts out like a mediocre wide-eyed idealist shonen manga (and the terrible anime adaptation only gets far enough to show this bit), but it turns into a much more interesting work that delves deeper into patents, society, justice, etc.
