What's your favorite platform to play visual novels?
ztrepzilius replied to ztrepzilius's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Another reason, PC is more flexible in modding and editing them for things like adding languages, restoration patch, bug fix, etc. Small market might be the reasons why few companies consider the overseas release of handheld consoles. I forgotten the name of the article. It mentions about how porting to PS Vita is not cheap. In some cases, they compensate the lack of 18+ content by adding newer CGs and text. -
Is playing VN without Walkthrough (virtually) risky ?
ztrepzilius replied to vizualfan's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Not necessary for short or kinetic VNs. Some VNs have flowchart unless they are misleading. I think walkthroughs are useful for gameplay VNs which requires certain skills to unlock all story/cgs. -
What's your favorite platform to play visual novels?
ztrepzilius posted a topic in Visual Novel Talk
It seems many people prefer PC based on 2019 Census results. What are the reasons you prefer to play visual novels on certain device? Do you think it's worth the cost for companies port to mobile device, handheld console, etc. I asked because I seen some people repeatedly asking for PS Vita/Nintendo Switch ports. -
Alien invasion, robot uprising and zombie apocalypse.
ztrepzilius replied to ztrepzilius's topic in Recommendations
Less answers than I expected as I seen those genres were common in anime, games, and movies. At least there are very few live-action adaption of VNs. -
I am looking for those sci-fi genre in VNs. 1. Alien Invasion : I asked for recommendation on vnsuggest for alien invasion scenario like Edge of Tomorrow, War of the Worlds, Independance Day. The only answer I get is Muv-Luv. 2. Robot uprising : When artificial intelligence gain self-awareness and rebel/ask for equal rights. (Matrix, Terminator, etc) 3. Zombie Apocalypse: Virus Outbreak or other sci-fi method like World War Z.

Can anyone refer me to educational visual novels?
ztrepzilius replied to olivia_tinker's topic in Recommendations
Sex education. Shame about the localization attempt. -
1. Functional infinity gauntlet with all the infinity stones. 2. Ability to use it. 3. More genies.

Anyone tried reading Majikoi with MTL?
ztrepzilius replied to Stormwolf's topic in Visual Novel Talk
@Seraphim88 More like this I find it more likely to happen on non-comedy VNs with "So bad it's good" translation unintentionally like those in h-quotes. @Stormwolf You could seek official localization by Jastusa if you had the patience for it. At least professional translators won't complain about robots stealing their jobs. -
Second Trailer

Occasionally around evening to midnight but afternoon on weekends. Like food, please don't consume VNs after midnight

Like others, Planetarian was my VN since it's short.

Irotoridori Kickstarter by Sol Press Funded at over 85k

@novurdim I find it a bit unusual that some people have different standard depends on how kickstarter was used (i.e. for physical merchandise only). -
Irotoridori Kickstarter by Sol Press Funded at over 85k
ztrepzilius replied to yelsha57's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Some companies used Kickstarter to fund physical merchandise rather than creation of the game or localization like Frontwing. Nekonyan is contemplating whether to use crowdfunding for physical like them. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1178845152/enjoy-a-sugary-sweet-life-with-visual-novel-loca-l/posts/2310451 https://nekonyansoft.com/blog/the-state-of-affairs -
Yea unlike reddit, adding post will raise the thread to the front page in section and no downvotes. For chat, I find discord better for short and fast discussion without creating a thread like "Turn off Anti-Aliasing in options>graphics".

How do you react if Truck-kun isekai'd you into another world as your waifu? Husbando is fine too. Somebody might collect merchandise of themselves and cloning to experience true narcissism.
-
Not sure what do you called this kind of genre where characters are trapped and they have to follow orders to survive.

I will try the recommendations section.

Just like what others said, rating are relative. I tried this method: 1. Create a thread here at Recommendations or vnsuggest at reddit. 2. Describe your interest and any hardware/software issue you require. 3. After suggestions were given, do some research on them at vndb, reviews, etc. 4. Create a "To Read List" for that. I prefer to try the short VN first.

Hello there, I am Ztrepzilius. Some redditors suggest me to use this forum because reddit filters are more sensitive and comments could be buried in older thread. I spend more time lurking than posting stuffs for any medium, looking for gems in the over-saturated world. I don't consume many VNs in comparison to other medium. It's because there are lack of VNs with storyline that interest me rather than the VN itself. Visual novel reminded me of some point-click-adventure games, movie games and gamebook(choose your own adventure books) I played decades ago. I get introduce into VN medium by anime adaption and some lewd image. BTW, who the hell are you guys?
