Packing Astronauts Game for Translation
ragnar0574 replied to kyuuki's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
I'm so sorry for the super late reply, GarBro can actually extract all the .snr files and you can edit them with Notepad++ itself and then repack them with the binidxpacker, the actual headache is finding the text to edit, since the .snr files will have a lot of additional info I use Translator++'s custom parser feature to import only the text that matters, but T++ can't seem to find the encoding to create the final files, so I use a bit of a roundabout manner Alternatively, you can maybe raise an issue in SExtractor, ask them to add Astronauts Sirius files as well since it is pretty easy all things considered, or maybe use an AI to make a code to extract only the text you will be editing into a different .txt file, which you can then use to rebuild the .snr files. I think I will be making one in some time, but no guarantees -
Repacking is simple, right click on the folder in the GarBro interface and there is a create archive option One thing to be careful about is that if you pack a folder into an archive, its structure would be: archive-> folder-> contents So if the archive's structure is supposed to be archive-> contents, then you select all the files within the folder and create an archive out of them, it's a pretty common issue when packing Kirikiri archives, among other things

I tried to translate this vn into english with Translator++, and the MO is rather simple: 1. Extract the Rio.arc or similar file that contains the scripts with GarBro 2. Open the extracted files in T++ with the VN Translation Tools option. 3. Translate the text. 4. Export the files. 5. Use GarBro to repack the translated files into Rio.arc This method has worked for every advhd game I've tried to translate, but for some reason, this particular vn starts to loop at some points instead of moving to the next scenario.

I wanted to translate this VN, and like every Kirikiri game, I tried krkrextract first, but it din't work So, next I tried GARBro Mod, first with no encryption, which return a bunch of garbled text I couldn't find the name of this exact VN in the GARBro encryption library, and using other titles from the same developer, namely this and this, which is HashCrypt, but it does not seem to be the encryption ued in the title of my interest Any help would be appreciated, I just need to figure out which encryption it uses, thank you

Uhhh, how do I mark an issue as solved or closed? -
Actually, T++ itself has a KAG tool you can use to repack folders into .xp3 files, and it works for most of the cases, as long as the game doesn't use a special encryption method at least This is where you find the repacking tool, hope it helps

Issue with translating old kirikiri game (Resolved)

Thank you so much, as it turns out, I did select the entire scenario folder, which then made the scenario.xp3 file's structure something like this: scenario.xp3 -> scenario -> .ks file but it should've been: scenario.xp3 -> .ks files Selecting every file inside did the trick -

Issue with translating old kirikiri game (Resolved)

Weird, my game folder looks like this: -
I wanted to translate this vn, so to get things started I tried using Krkrextract, which works out for just about every kirkiri game, but this time, it didn't even identify the process as kirikiri. Then I used GarBro to decrypt and extract the contents of the scenario folder, and tried repacking it with the same encryption method, just to make sure it would work, but when I tried playing the vn, this error popped up: Then I used Translator++ to create an xp3 file, which resulted in this error: And now I'm completely lost as to how to pack the translated files after the translation is done Any help would be appreciated

Help with old Kaguya vn packing
ragnar0574 replied to ragnar0574's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
This one's for the later vns, that use the message.dat file to store scripts Nvm, I found what I needed, it's apparently in the tool I linked in the original post -
I used this to extract and translate a bit of text from an old Kaguya game (the ones made with Team Heartbeat), but there's no way to repack the text into TBLSTR.ARC file Any leads on how to do so would be really appreaciated

I think that the crash occurs cus AE packs stuff into fpk files for system c, not the moonhir one
-
Wait, there's this too? I just ran the py code as it is damn it Thank you so much But how do I repack the scene after editing? Can't see a pack option, or anything resembling it
-
Thanks for that, it worked out pretty well, nut it just gave out the entire script in a single line, and now notepad's taking ages to even move the cursor Still, it's quite a bit of progress compared to before

https://vndb.org/v10358, or pretty much all the stuff from this studio

So I wanted to translate a vn which has its archives in the .fpk format, like "BT2N_Sys.fpk" And weirdly enough, the script is a .fbx file, and I've got no leads on where to even start editing the files Any help would be geatly appreciated

Nvm, the tool works perfecly, it looks like the encoding changed when I edited the files, and the game refuses to read the encoding now -

I tried using GarBro to unpack the original scripts and this tool to pack the same, without any changes whatsoever, and I still got the same issue as the OP
