Currently reading: Highschool DxD - I´m still not so far but until now it seems funnier than the anime, so it looks promising. Toaru Majutsu no Index: New Testament - To be honest it hasn´t been as great as the last volumes of the first series yet. I´ve read the 3 first vol. so I guess it can still improve (and Index successfully crushed my hopes that she is finally going to become an important character )

Thanks for the tips, I didn´t know there was a steam version. I will probably buy a vita though, I´m not really a big fan of playing on the pc (and I need Persona 4 Golden anyway )

One question regarding this game: I really want to buy it, but I know that there is beside the version for ps3 also a remake for the vita. Because I don´t own a vita yet I wanted to ask if the latter version is so much improved, that I´m better off waiting until I buy a vita (probably still quite some time) or should I just buy the one for the ps3 now if it doesn´t really matter?

I recently started to get more interested in VA so I guess I can find my favourites. Male: Yuichi Nakamura - He has some really nice roles with Tomoya, Gray or Greed (FMAB) and managed to make all of them sound cool and kinda badass. He´s also got a good singing voice, which I noticed in Gray´s character Songs. Hikaru Midorikawa - It´s pretty easy to notice him because he just has this kind of epic leader voice (especially as Yoshino in Clannad or Kyousuke in LB!). Also as Lancer in Fate/Zero he was rememberable AND he was the only male voice to make it into YuruYuri what I consider a major achievement . Tomokazu Sugita - Kyon, the guy who showed us how to think in tsukkomis; Gintoki, the king of trolls, laziness, and awesome speeches. It just didn´t felt right without him in this list. Female: Ayana Taketatsu - Azusa (K-on), Ayumi (TWGOK), Koneko (DxD), Kotori (Date A Live), Suguha (SAO); this list alone is already giving me nosebleed because she voices a lot of totally cute characters and does a nice job in characterizing them. And Azusa. Just writing her name would have been enough for topping this list Kana Hanazawa - Ok, she has already been mentioned a few times but is that really enough honor for her? She is a real win with her shy but sweet voice (Shiori, Kanade) and also with her different roles like Mikan or Mayuri she manages is to make them feel alive.

My favourite girl by far was the first one with the paizuri-shirt (it doesn´t have any other purposes ) and I was only partly interested in the other two. Now I´ve grown to like the black-haired best, after that the first one again and the last one still at the end, though with a way smaller difference than before. It was also the doujin that made me like catgirls .

Wow, the h-scenes are really nice but also very awkward as well. Seems pretty good though, I´m gonna read it. And is it just me or does Kazusa-chan look very much like Hercule from Milky Holmes? Not only the hairstyle is the exact same, even her expressions look very similar.

It´s not so bad with season one. It is pretty much only about Misaka and her friends. I would recommend watching Index before you begin with Railgun S though, because the stories are going to be lot more connected and IMO it´s nicer to see the original version of a certain arc first before you watch the improved version in Railgun. But beware of Touma. I´m not saying that he´s a bad character but in Index he is depicted VERY differently than the Touma you have seen yet.

Let´s see, it only happened twice that I dropped a vn so what were the reasons: Muv-Luv: Really boring beginning and I didn´t liked the characters. Also I learned that MLA (the whole reason for this) is about mecha which is one of my least favourite genres so I totally lost my motivation to play it. Kanon: Old. Really old. It was the oldest vn I´ve ever played so it was hard to get used to the artwork and the awful voice quality (seriously I had big trouble to endure every time Akiko was speaking). Also different than other Key vn the common route was boring and I couldn´t even keep track off what was happening all the time. I´m usually able to endure some boring parts (I´m looking at you Yumiko route ) but I´m not really enough M to continue doing something that feels like a complete waste of time.

Because there seem to be a lot of doujin-experts in this thread: Does anyone have recommendations for cute succubus doujins? Preferable lolis but also others are fine as long as they are vanilla.

Could it be that the honor draws in JP changed a bit? When I made a single draw, at first a R letter appeared, but it opened and suddenly became a SR letter (don´t know which smiley suits the situation better) Has this happened to anyone before or is it just a new way to troll us players?

Ok, I just have no idea how I could get into such a group with my low rank. I´m used to a difference of a few thousand, but I´ve never been that badly outclassed by every opponent. Well............ I defeated rank 1. I can´t be proud about it, but at least it´s better than getting totally rekt.

IMO longer is clearly better. I´m good at dealing with huge works and I also don´t have a problem with (seemingly useless) fluff. Another thing is that I need quite a lot of time to create a relation to a character, so if the work was too short it´s possible that I´m just not able to care about a character because I don´t know him well enough. One sign of that is that I never had the feeling yet that a vn was too long after I finished it but I very well know my annoyance about rushing and similar stuff. It doesn´t always need to have >50h content but if it is even lower than around 15h there is quite a Chance that I will have trouble to enjoy it. Exceptions are short little works that I read in between the big ones sometimes; they´re enjoyable but they rarely leave a big impact on me.

Usually I don´t mind H-scenes. If I have the choice between a vn without them and the exact same one just with them I would choose the latter, just to have more content and the hope that the scene does really add something to the story (it happens!...............sometimes) because then it would be sad not to read it. Also even if the scenes suck you can simply skip them (just close your eyes during skipping if even only seeing the pictures is too much ). The problem is of course that the mainstream people are already disgusted from hearing the words "it has sex scenes". That was already enough to scare otaku friends of mine away from visual novels even if they were interested at first. The option to disable h-Scenes or the fact that they are only a small part of a huge thing (>50h and only one hour of sex scenes for example) are also often useless because most people don´t care about that and get the Impression that vn are just something for weirdos interested in 2D sex (well I prefer 2D to 3D somewhat but does that make me a bad human?). You could say that the companies should just stop adding h-scenes but that would lead to other problems: 1. There are also quite some people who are only interested in eroge and that already lead many to reading real vns (that was the case with me at first and I also heard it from various other people). This fanbase would be lost. 2. (That´s just my opinion) One thing that I really like about vns is that they usually include everything and don´t exclude some themes that aren´t openly talked about and sex is one of those themes. It is a normal part of life but you will hardly find mediums that deal with it in its fulliest (expect porn, but that is always only made for fapping). So to come to an end, h-scenes have at least the potential to have a big positive impact on visual novels but the existence of them also is partly at fault that great works like F/SN or Grisaia, just to name 2 of them don´t have popularity in the mass that they deserve. And seriously, sometimes they are also just nice to fap to, aren´t they?
