Don't even have to bring up any particular ones, this game has easily one of the best soundtracks on par with Rewrite, Hoshizora no Memoria and Aoishiro (subjectively, of course). There's just so much good stuff.

The thing about mother's love may be true in most cases, but you should try playing a certain route in Grisaia no Kajitsu to see if you'll still believe that. Kanon's mother selfishly used her own daughter for self-gratification since she herself had failed to become a successful figure skater in her days (saying she would die from that simply meant she'd be too ashamed of herself). I don't think these intentions are anywhere near good.

I think on tvtropes they explain it as Kyohei backing off for his brother's sake if he hooks up with someone other than his despised enemy.

There's just something wrong with loving and always forgiving your abusive parents just because they gave birth to you - which is why I hated the Kanon chapter. The rest of the game is fantastic though, so full marks anyway

1) A multiple route mystery story of the protagonist and his ex-girlfriend being stuck on an island with no way out. Stuff happens. Plot thickens. 2) Action-packed, drama-filled VN with G-senjou-no-Maou-like structure. In a town practically owned by criminal organizations, the protagonist seeks a way to protect his family and whoever else you choose to let close to you. Harsh choices, tough backstories, everything we love so much.

Because without romance these arcs don't make any sense - what he does with Komari, Kud and Mio, for instance. Naturally, you can't have romance because it's all in one timeline in the anime.

I learnt about VNs when I went looking for Clanand-related stuff after watching (and loving) the anime and found Tomoyo After. Went to watch it on youtube, but since the prologue is pure nukige I got fed up with all the lines that covered half the screen including text so I downloaded it and was rather shocked (in a good way) from the ending, which made me realize how deep VNs can be - looking for other Key games, I played Little Busters and Rewrite and by then my fate has already been sealed. I've even started to learn Japanese to never run out, as well as read the fandiscs.
