Visual Novel's why DO YOU play/read them
Mr Poltroon replied to FoggyOrchid's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Honestly, I'm not sure why I prefer visual novels over other stuff. But it is true that I neglect other games, films and books to read visual novels. So let's go with the standard and uninspired answer. "It's because I enjoy them greatly, even when compared to other forms of entertainment". -
Don't worry, I'm on your side! See? You have my support.

Yuuji in particular had a somewhat British sounding voice. I didn't give him a different accent because otherwise all my sentences would come out butchered, since I'm not very proficient at speaking fast.
-
For me it'd have to be that one. It's the only one I actually sat through the whole thing everytime I start the game, since I have a tendency to not enjoy most music.
-
Hmm... When the characters have no voice I tend to give them russian, french, german and other accents just for fun But I think I'm fairly good at getting a grasp of what voice fits whom. For example, in Grisaia no Kajitsu, the protagonist isn't voiced. But he tends to use complicated vocabulary in everyday conversation and to go into overly long explanations of simple stuff. I adapted my voice according to these parameters.

Kud Wafter is 18+. And the version that's being translated is too. Everyone indeed.

Tips and help on planing a trip to Japan?
Mr Poltroon replied to Dark Ariel7's topic in General Discussion
For some reason, people generally don't know that they can edit the titles of their own threads. I learnt about this on the second thread I made, but I didn't know until I was told either. -
Oh, drat, since this was Muv-Luv thread I didn't even think about that That was totally my fault... Anyways, you might want to edit your post and remove my quote, I've edited accordingly myself.

Is Altered Fable translated? Well, I know there's a partial translation but I can't find anything else...

Tips and help on planing a trip to Japan?
Mr Poltroon replied to Dark Ariel7's topic in General Discussion
Click 'edit' on the main post. Click 'use full editor'. ??? Profit. -
No idea what that is, but looking at what is said it seems that they'd have a hard time finding an editor that would take on the challenge of figuring the translation out. Hence it's better to just re do it. The re-translation should be finished just around 30 of February from what they were saying. Positive thinking, lads!

Unlimited Chat Works - Random Talk
Mr Poltroon replied to allpukmaster's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
That's a picture of Yuuiji, so I'd assume the best place to find that would be in sequals to Grisaia no Kajitsu. I hope to have terribly useful to you this fine day. -
Wait, what?! Where'd that come from...? And here I was, patiently waiting like a good doggie...

Welcome to the forums. I see you've already read plenty of good titles. I've got nothing left to teach you. Go free, and look for your own path! And here's an inpirational image for you.

I can guarantee that listening to people talk in English is a fantastic way to get a decent grasp of the language. After all, that's how I learnt it. Currently, anybody that hears me speak in English thinks I'm from England. It just so happened that I developed a great accent just by listening to people talk. Another trait of mine, is that I talk to myself alot. Reading Visual Novels out loud is a good way to practice speaking, since there's a good variety of words, most of the time. As mentioned before, joining a gaming group and talking with them (especially if they're natives) is a sure fire way to improve your pronounciation.

Hmm... Maybe you think that's the case, but I'll tell you this, I couldn't distinguish good from bad storytelling even if stared me in the face. So for me, Fate was as good as all the others, really. Oh, bugger. It'll keep on getting worse, won't it? Exactly as I feared. Good to see I'm not the only one that doesn't seem to enjoy darker themes. Long live us light-hearted fellows!

Sorry that this isn't very relevant to the discussion at hand, but, since that came out only yesterday, and I doubt too many people have read it already. So, I'll ask a question. What does irohika stand for? Nevermind that. I'm better at searching that I gave myself credit for On a more relevant topic, I really appreciate when games let us see the future beyond your typical happy ever after ending.

^^ Exactly my life fullstop ...Except the choice of comics. I prefer the Disney ones. As infantile as they can be.
