    Books!

Visual novels do the thinking for me. Not all of them, but a whole lot. Some people might look down on this as being utterly lazy, but truth betold I am lazy and it's not something to be ashamed of. The best food are made the best cooks, and you most probably aren't one. Anyway, visual novels define among other things the characters, voices, settings, music, effects, despite being small they ultimately make up the overall tone. Most of the problems I have are thereby solved already, and some I figure out by myself from the tone. Sole description via text is still lacking compared to the background of a VN plus even more description from its text. Even so, there are still some VNs out there with poor narrative orientation. e.g. Rewrite. So here lies exactly the problem, how much of the "author's point" comes across, and that depends on what media it's told through. I tend to miss a lot of things. Still, visual novels aren't as clear as motion picture, but that's just the way I like it. Like you, I enjoy using my imagination from time to time, and whatever the visual novel doesn't fix I'll just figure something out. It's not as tiring as a story told entirely through text, but it still leaves a lot to the imagination. Now that I think of it, that is most probably why I love visual novels. And I love English as well. It's implemented brilliantly in my favorite series of books, but just as there are some things explained better through words, there are some other things explained better through imagery, and what I am is a lazy bum who prefers the latter. Visual novels and books can be just as thrilling as a Disney riding experience, thus the phrase "emotional roller coaster", so be sure to not underestimate the power of storytelling. I understand and respect all the book readers out there who choose to take the time to enhance their creativity by reading. That said, despite being lethargic, I'm actually a very creative person. But really, this media isn't suited for me.
  6. False, I listen to Vocaloid once a month. Next person likes the taste of blood.
  7. Admittedly the endings were still conclusive, especially compared to a certain other route.

    Books!

Which is why I read very, very slowly. Visual is my strongest perceptive ability, when I read I try to imagine a good movie in my head. I can't read any other way, but it gets inevitably tiring to imagine everything. It's a good way to explore your imagination, but I'm a very detailed person so visualizing a scenario takes way longer than it should. For instance, when it says "a parlor glamoured with flushed brick walls, an old wooden table and the stench of blood" I build the room in my head, along with the furniture. But then it says "James took a slow step into the darkness, cautiously, before he rests his eyes upon an old letter on the old table by the corner of the room." I need to reimagine the room so that the table is in the corner, because earlier on I imagined it to be in the center. This happens often and restructuring the scenario over and over again ruins the "cinematic experience". It's the little things that make it tedious. On the other hand, a movie gives you a quick and definite outlook of the setting and characters. Moreover, it lets you explore the imagination of someone else, which may be full of things that you may never think of when you imagine the scenario by yourself. If there's another way to 'explore your imagination' other than visualizing it, you may enlighten my right now.
  9. You can find out more about the process in this thread. Arguably the hardest part would be technicality and hacking into the visual novel itself, though the rest is mostly tedious work. How hard it is mostly depends on how intricate the VN engine is. It's most definitely time consuming especially since it's ultimately volunteer work. How fast these translations finish depend on how much free time they have, and of course, how long the visual novel is. That said, Majikoi is a very big game so that's also quite a hindrance. Again, it's very tedious work so it's easy for you to lose interest midway. I can imagine this is the case for most unfinished translations out there.

    Books!

I can't bring myself to read, I get distracted quite easliy. I find it much easier to read visual novels since its music, art, and atmosphere sort of locks you in the immersion. But no, not books, I tend to lose myself mid-page and find myself re-reading an entire paragraph because of it. Though I have read some nonetheless and my favorite would be The Song of Ice and Fire epic, particularly the first book.
  11. Tales tell of a curse that befalls anyone who tries to translate Majikoi. We've been very lucky thus far. Legends say we're being protected by Mare of the logo. Back in the previous attempt to translate Miyako's route, Mare had not been implemented in the Fuwanovel banner and all sorts of misfortune came upon the translation team. Henceforth 85 seems to be the number of the devil. Believe what you must, for it is only an old wives tale. There's the optimism~
  12. Hooo~ what's this? Another fan? Don't worry, I'll take good care of you<3. Welcome to fuwanovel I like you already. Anyway, be sure to read this thread for more VNs to read and try Key works if you haven't already. i.e. CLANNAD. I'll just leave you this as a welcome gift. Chao!

  15. Hello, Kevin. Welcome to fuwanovel Your reviews are very good. Anyway, be sure to check this thread for more visual novels, I suggest you to try Key's works if you haven't already. e.g. CLANNAD. Enjoy the forums and see you around~
  16. True, I'm always in for a cute girl <3 Since I'm bored, the next person would like to personally fight me.
  17. True that. Maybe you just don't sound professional enough.
  18. Also, the ending to The Walking Dead. Has anyone mentioned this before? They should have. How could I have forgotten that? Most probably the ending to The Walking Dead: Season 2 as well but it's not entirely out yet.
  19. Which I guess is one very apparent flaw, the anime felt like a huge inside joke. Maybe there should've been a big text in the beginning that says "We have an established lore. Go read about it somewhere else."
  20. I think you're taking it a bit too literally there, I was talking about it's popularity compared to other visual novels. I don't think something is 'underrated' when given relatively average to low scores; they most probably deserve it. Or it may just be absurdly popular and I just don't realize it. Tsumari, I'll tell everyone to read the damn thing.
  21. It's a fully translated JRPG on PS2. If you don't have the console you can play via emulator. I strongly implore you to play instead, it's by far one of the best (and most underrated) JRPG ever made and I'm sure most people can testify for that. EDIT: Cheers to my 500th post!! *confetti*
  22. Yumiko route = Makina route + age + ending - papa
  23. Not hello there, Cofee. Welcome to fuwanovel A tsun and a lolicon? Interesting. I see you're getting along fine. Anyway, be sure to check this thread for more VNs to read, and try Grisaia no Kajitsu if you haven't already. Enjoy the forums and see you around~ not really. Looks like Monmon sp. has found its niche. Not so much an endangered species after all.
  24. Only at the beginning. Have you tried getting the game first? Like all other adaptations from a game, you should treat the anime as a last resort.
