wow, people now think that populating the earth is wrong? and cloning? Even if it was possible, would you truly accept something like that? If you were born by being cloned, how would you feel?... though I'm getting off topic. To me, when it comes to having a virtual girlfriend, it depends on what you believe the purpose of love is. If you believed its to have babies and populate the earth (yes, some people really believe that), then such a concept would tantamount to blasphemy. But, if you just love for the sake of it, I suppose theirs anything wrong with having a virtual girlfriend (or waifu). But i still cant help but feel such a future would be sad... and congrats on the 1000 posts Okami!!!!!

Guys, i think you have a big mistake here. while yes, VN's are a niche genre outside of Japan, but they are by far one of the most mainstream game genres in Japan. I mean 70% of the games mad in japan in the year 2006 were VNS's, and i do think they have been increasing ever since. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_novel And no, i dont think there the main reason of low birthrates in Japan, but they definitely play an important role. And i do think you should watch the hole video before you make your judgement Rooke. and you, scars unseen. or should i say chris?
-
yep, super old for a youtube video. but the problems it states are only increasing over the years, and since hes talking about VN's, i thought the community needed a heads up. a lot, and i mean a lot of people agree with this guy. Hell, even i thought the same thing before playing my first VN... just found out your real name btw MUHAHAHAHAHA! is it possibly cristopher bandy?

WELCOME TO FUWA!!! and hope you have a great time here. also good avatar choice soel eater fan here
-
Ohhhh this is soooooooo difficult, how can i possibly choose one over the other?! the fate of city's, country's, entire civilizations depend on this choice!!! well, since its wierd to eat rice for breakfast in my region, i'll go for 1 1 quite reading VN's 2 quite all other japanese forms of media (Anime, light novels, manga etc)

Yea, so this guy here talks about how VN's (or dating sims) are ruining japans future. Whats really ironing though, is that he admits to enjoying them himself, and yet still condemns them. But whats even more jarring is that... I find it hard to disagree with anything he says. is this really what VN's are doing? If so, i think we should rethink spreading them... just kidding...

I'm more of a shadow fan, i don't know why, but i just found him so cool and more relate-able. i don't know why really, but i thought that shadow the hedgehog was the best game on the PS2, after sonic heroes. The thing that made me like sonic games a lot is that they had a lot of story, and quite a heavy focus on them. I never bought any sonic games on the ps3 so i dont know about sonic 06 but they were still my favorite franchise EVER!

1-who would want to be a dragon if you can have the ability to ride one?!. 1-marry the most perfect real women in existence. 2- marry any VN character of your choice (and i would like to know whom).

babiker replied to OriginalRen's topic in Visual Novel Talk
If you want help with video editing, i highly recommend you check ashadow700. The best youtuber who does VN stuff that i know off, plus he has not been doing a lot of stuff recently. so he can handle some extra work fine -
Okami, please. dont you remember the last topic that got locked? This is a site for civilized debate and discussion. Even if everyone you were calling a pervert was indeed one, its still not right to call people that. its like if you were a christian and you went to an atheist, and called him a "dammed disbeliever who's only end will be hell". yes, according to the book, thats right. but according to the simple laws of civilized conversation and debate, its called being rude. When it comes to h, not only would i say there unnecessary, i would go to the point of saying its the most thing keeping VN's as rare and as weird as they are. but i would still go with this suggestion:- but i still wouldn't go around calling people names because they believe something else

Having friends that also plays Visual Novel
babiker replied to Kasugano's topic in Visual Novel Talk
actually, i thought i was the only person in the middle east playing them, so it was quite a surprise for me when i read your location. though you seem to be as knew as me. VN,s seem to be spreading a lot faster than most people anticapated. i hope this isnt against the rules, but : السلام عليكم!كيف حالك يا أخي؟ ما توقعت تلاقي واحد عربي هون صح؟ But personally, i have had some success with one of my friends. i recommended katawa shoujo to him a while ago. i wonder if he tried it out yet...- 29 replies

Saya No Uta:Extended Thoughts and Questions (SPOILERS)
babiker replied to babiker's topic in Visual Novel Talk
dood, she freaking lives of the stuff. so i doubt that killing one human is going to keep you going for an entire lifetime. though fuminori does kill (because it tastes better than normal food to him), yet another excuse for cannibalism. All in all, this VN tried pretty hard to convince people that all these crimes were normal under the circumstances it presented; and judging from the posts here, i can say it succeeded quite strongly. But hey, at least I wasnt convinced that killing and eating humans, just for "the one you love" or some other excuse, was right. . not saying it's wrong or anything. eat whomever and whatever your heart desires for all i care! -
Saya No Uta:Extended Thoughts and Questions (SPOILERS)
babiker replied to babiker's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Well, as i have already stated, i do prefer the ending were kouji kills saya and fuminori commits suicide. To me it is a question of morality: no matter how much you love someone, are you willing to kill innocent people for them? the story tried to justify it further by making fuminori lose his sanity. But still, even then, he still new he was killing innocent people, and living with saya meant killing more. So, for me, no matter how insane reality is, no matter how deep your love is, its still no justification for killing (and eating) the innocent. which is why i preferred it when i saw fuminory kill himself with the axe; serves him right! I FELL LIKE I'M GOING TO GET SO FLAMED FOR THIS... -
rewrite. read rewrite! for me its the best VN story ever, has the most likable characters, and very long in length. here's a review, were this guy tells you a bit about the VN: its perfect for a holiday. so what are you waiting for?!

Saya No Uta:Extended Thoughts and Questions (SPOILERS)
babiker replied to babiker's topic in Visual Novel Talk
well, i sure as hell rooted against him. in fact, during my first round i actually I suppose it comes down to how powerfully your belief in your moral code is. If its strong enough, nothing can change it. though i will admit this game succeeded in making me get use to guts and entrails a lot more than I use to be... stuff that i would have never contemplated even looking at before, I now stare at without blinking and eye. This game has fully convinced me that VN's have a much higher success rate at changing the audience than any other medium i know of, whether it be movies, video games or novels. Dam, its like the more i talk about this game, the creepier it gets... -

Saya No Uta:Extended Thoughts and Questions (SPOILERS)
babiker replied to babiker's topic in Visual Novel Talk
cant blame you man, i mean i didn't even realize Lucia's route in rewrite was supposed to be scary, but when it came to this game... it hit the spot real good... or should i say bad? either way, its probably the most horror filled story i have ever read. -
Saya No Uta:Extended Thoughts and Questions (SPOILERS)
babiker replied to babiker's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Well, i suppose it's a matter of perspective, though the way you put it sounds more accurate. Yes, but he was given two ways to end his insanity: continue living with saya, or return to how everything was. that's the choice I'm talking about. even if he loved her, would he still be willing to give up all his past friends up for her, when he has the ability to turn hes friends into what they used to be, normal humans? 0_0. like, nothing? wow, I'm impressed. so the normal world, when he's friends looked human, sucked?... ok, mabey... -
so, i finished saya no uta today, and man… what a story. from reading a few posts here and there, I thought it was going to be a story that was all-dependent on the h-scenes (which I regularly skip). The only thing that made me give it a try was a YouTube review, which mentioned that it was a lot deeper, if you can look behind the bloody full stuff in it. And boy… was I in for a ride. Well for one thing, the horror is as real as everybody say’s, if not more. If you don’t want scary stuff, you might want to stay clear from this one… As for the most question that intrigued me; the question of love: is it really a good thing to protect the ones you love, regardless of whom they are? When do you know you, or they, have crossed the line? This VN sure did put in quite a different way… And, guys, for those of you who have tried it, and even if you haven't; out of the two choices that were given to you in the game, which would you truly and sincerely choose? to live in a mad world with a cute girl, or a sane world with a nasty monster… Even if the story tried to convince me other wise, I’d still go for the later. but I wanna know your opinions. And, for those of you who believe that this story is impossible to understand without the h, mind telling me why? Even though I skipped it, I still felt like I got the hole picture. And please don’t turn this into an h-scene argument. all we need is another thread were everybody is calling each other pervert. what I’m asking for is clear: for those of you who believe the h is necessary to understand this particular story, I would like to here your reasons. Over all, awesome story. As the guy in the review said, it’s really dark, with rape, murder, cannibalism, and all kinds of horrors… but if your willing to look behind that, you’ll find a deep, touching, and over all amazing story.
