koestlTranslator 6h Hi. We're sorry about the delay / separation of the 18+ versions, and we do understand why people would be upset. The 18+ games will come out if the trilogy is funded, and we're looking into options to provide some sort of credit for KS backers. Ideally, you will be able to back the trilogy on Kickstarter and then receive a discounted or free copy of the 18+ games when they're released. I can't make any promises about that, but it's something we want to do, and we will try to clarify prior to launching the kickstarter. Believe me, we have tried working around this issue, but the original rights-holders expressed a strong desire to maintain clear "separation" between the 18+ and M-rated products. With regards to "censorship," we have some leeway as localizers and may revert some textual changes made to the vita version where possible. And please keep in mind that a completely uncut 18+ edition will eventually be available, as long as the Kickstarter succeeds. Pretty sure they have no clue

Well i dont like how they say a 18+ version will be released "Eventually" which is a unknown expanse of time, not to mention its stated the 18+ release would be handled by a third party koestlTranslator 11m @Cutiebunny Sorry, that's not what I meant to imply. The KS as a whole exists to cover project costs. Any pledge at any level helps it happen and would be appreciated. @Silvachief 18+ releases would not have any cut content. An official conversion patch is not a realistic option because of the way Frontwing wants this handled (entirely separate releases). It could also cause issues with Steam. The possibility of vouchers/discounts is definitely being considered. @flamedog The 18+ release details are not settled yet, but I will provide more information as soon as possible. I can say that these releases will be published by a "third party" rather than directly by Sekai Project.

That basicly makes it not worth even backing if you can get a fuller expierence from the fan translated version since they dont wanna corrupt our western sensibilities ~rolls eyes~

I think its more because most Japanese companies have a nationalism complex and believe westerners are not profitable or worthy of their products

Well its the same thing with Phatasy Star online 2 fans have begging for a western release and as if to rub it in our faces they went ahead and localized it in SEA in english and IP blocked all western IPs from both the japanese game and SEA. It's nothing new for the west to get to the shaft when it comes to japanese games that involve anime or visual novels.

This is why Localization fails in the west cause they dont listen to the fans

They already have lost a lot of interest and money every repsonse on that twitter post is people saying they wont be backing it now

They will have to remove anything that makes it 18+ so you lose a good portion of the story not to mention they're going for a steam release for the all ages version so that further increases the restrictions

Honestly I wouldnt think it would cost them much more if anything to make both versions considering the lines would be near similiar just one is devoid of adult content so I dont really see how this would be a issue for them

The only problem with that would be that I dont think steam would be ok with it considering they're rather picky about that kinda stuff especially if its supposed to be all ages
