I wouldn't call those protagonist "flat" they are obviously pathetic, it seems like they exist only to be humiliated and mistreated by every heroine without ever thinking of doing something for themselves. They never hate or dislike anyone and forgive everything, no dreams no plans for their future.
Those flat mc's might be ok for a nukige but not for better vn's.
-
Mindlessness and hetare protagonists are the most likely reasons for me to drop a VN. That and poor narrative.
What's the deal with Japan and hetare mc?
Nobody wants an ultra macho gary stu solving everything without even trying but the hetare level on the normal mc is too high!
-
Excessive fanservice is a yellow card but the one sided violence against the mc and the "best friend" character type those situations provide are the ultimate red card.
-
VN with a true route/heroine are a gamble, if you don't like that heroine you can't even finish the game, it happened to me with g-senjou and comyu.
-
Are those errors common in translated vn? Or where you all playing uncompleted translations?
-
I will drop it if the translation is unreadable or if the protagonist is a huge crybaby. that is also the main reason that I dropped Ayakashibito.
I had a hard time with Ayakashibito, the mc was the mangina king(Queen?) and I hated every heroine except Tonya but a few secondary characters were great.
-
I'll drop it as soon as it attempts to play a card that makes me think that its a nakige. There are plenty of ways to involve the player emotionally rather than holding a character hostage for half the game. I play the game for interaction with the character, taking them away is utterly pointless.
Trying to force you to pity a heroine, killing children or using rape as an excuse for abusive heroines are clear signs of bad writing.
-
I also dropped Muv Luv after a few hours, I found every character boring or disgusting but I don't know about the other two vn.
-
It doesn't matter what filter you use to decide what vn you should play there's always a chance of failure and unexpected content that makes you drop the vn.
What kind of content/tropes/characters makes you drop a vn?
I can't stand the lucky-accidental pervert trope and sissy mc's that get a power up on strength and guts when it's convenient.

Problem solved , Thank you!
I usually install vn in the default directory and this is the first time I got this kind of error but I'll be careful from now on.
-
I installed it in the default directory... is there a problem with it? Should I change it?
-
IIIRC the most seeded torrent for that vn was a version that didn't need install. If you got that one. I am guessing the torrent program is messing with it. Stop seeding the torrent in with the game on it or try to copy the game over to another folder.
I got an ISO and installed the vn normally.
And this got funnier when I opened the readme in the game folder and the save file reappeared...
-
My save gets deleted every time I turn off the computer, I tried giving permissions to my user and stills gets deleted.
Playing on Windows 7 (32).
Please help!!.
-
Thank you! It's solved.
All I had to do was to search for a list of Japanese numerals and it was over, it only ask you to do it the first time.

https://vndb.org/v15485#main , as soon as I start the game some questions appear in a box, i've searched for a patch but there is none and it's the first time i've seen that system in VN.
If someone is playing this vn please help

(My first time uploading an image, but I think is okay)

I don't mind the H-scenes but the gore censorship hurts me so do I miss something if I play acta est fabula, download a complete save for amantes amentes and watch the extra stories? Thanks for your help.
-
Thanks for the info! I think I'll try the original after all, Himiko is funny and Arthur a bit boring but still better than Kay.
-
It worries me that there's a disturbing scene with Alexander (one the best heroines) so I thought Eiyuu Senki was a Rance-like rape festival.
-
Some time ago I started playing Gold thinking it was a remake of the old Eiyuu Senki, but it seems to be a completely different story with the same characters.
Can someone tell me how different it is?.
-
How about Eiyuu Senki Gold? Since it has an interface patch the gameplay wouldn't be a problem if you don't understand japanese.
-
How about the Kyonyuu Fantasy saga? The mc is a pervert but a funny one, a tactician and doesn't give a single f*ck in the 3 vn of the saga.
-
If you are going to play the slime&scylla be careful, the scylla route starts with some nasty femdom.
-
I read Dracu-Riot. I would not count them as monster girls if they dont look like monsters. Alos, they must be cute. That is an absolute.
-
If you want MG Vanadis is the principal provider, you can choose between :
-Arachne, harpy and hitotsume http://vndb.org/v6473
-Slime and scylla http://vndb.org/v4940
-Mermaid and fairy http://vndb.org/v11901#main
-Alraune http://vndb.org/v3389
-and the monmusu sequel http://vndb.org/v13918, it features other heroines but the new ones are: tapir, dryad and a baphomet.
Does not look like my cup of tea. I dont like the art and the teacher role is not something I would like to play. Plus the bug heroine creeps me the hell out. Thanks though.
The doll and the bee (the first two h-scenes are a bit femdom-ish but it gets vanilla later) end up being the best routes in the VN, the dragon was disappointing and the centaurus boring.

I fail to see what's good about Comyu (Kagome) and Hoshizora and all it's cast, I couldn't even play more than 3 hours to those two vn before hating every character, just to be sure I searched some spoiler about the endings and ended hating those two even more.
