If you're looking for a true dating simulator you might want Casual Romance Club. It has pretty good image quality for its age, and the story is pretty in depth. If you want a more common visual novel with dating elements you should consider Clannad. Both of those are classics. Games that have "harem" themes are pretty much going to be eroge...

I finally made it to .hack//Quarantine~ Soon I'll have to go rewatch each anime to put the games in retrospect However, I don't know if I'll ever play the G.U. volumes

A-1 has made some great productions, and some... not so great as well. From the first episode this is looking to be from the first category, but well see.

I have a thing for downloading episodes of airing anime as it comes out but not watching it until its finished airing. I always try to watch at least one 26 episode anime per week. On weekdays I only have time to watch 2-3 episodes. But on weekends I will watch 5-10 episodes per day. I watched Angel Beats! all in one day and I completely regret it. I love Key but I just didn't get to experience the feels from that anime because I watched it so fast.
