I have to side with this, the problem is while every one claims to want to be equals its far from the truth. At least around here (southern united states) i know for a fact MOST NOT ALL but most expect a double standard to be used so long as it to there benefit. So long as you play the game and dont point out that its being played you are fine, but if you dont play or point it out they tend to get mad label you a pig or some such. I am not saying you shouldn't be nice to girls (as its about the only way to get one) but it most certainly is not equal or guaranteed to work, as there is a lot more to it then just weather or not you are nice to them. In fact i have seen guys i would call douchebags get girls lining up while that guy that just nice to them is a friend. (I might be a little bitter.)

As some that enjoys both the walking dead and high school of the dead in equal messure i would have to say you are spot on. To make it so large numbers of westreners would ever have an intrest would come largely at the loss of the current fan base. However do to the nature and style in which VNs are made i doubt they would ever get a very big following. In other words VNs will all ways be niche i think.

On the other hand i have to agree, i have seen some people go to a dark pace with there intrest in anime / manga but so long as it dose not effect me i tend to let them be. I my self would love to vist and maybe even spend a few months in Japan but i dont have any reall desire to live there. Even if i did i wouldnt live near one of the big cities, more of country person my self. Back on topic, if componies start pandering to what they think is the right group and is in fact the wrong one then yes we have a problem, one they will see when sales drop. Most just think they dont like it, if they uped and moved to japan more of them then not would be looking to go home in short order i am willing to bet.

I have a 2TB NAS and its is loaded with anime, VNs, and porn. Half the reason i got it was to store anime and VNs. Of course i like to rewatch anime some times.
