Katawa Shoujo (especially Lilly's route) took my heart and served it on a platter. Nothing's affected me in the same way but Narcissu and Planetarian seem to be the consensus "tear-jerkers" around here

Are the game lengths (on vndb) the time it tends to take to do one playthrough? I know they can be inaccurate, but I'm kinda curious

I haven't played it yet, but Saya no Uta seems to get generally positive reviews from people. Given how popular it is, though, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if you've already read it.

the "beta" was never meant to be seen, it was leaked a little after KS came out by a former member of 4LS that left the project earlier on. Hanako's route was more akin to School Days. She had several awful bad endings that (I believe) you had to play through before getting her good end. Shizune's route was much more tragic/dramatic and Lilly was wayyy too moe in her route. The game was unfinished, and they decided to change things for the better.

I know it's in english but in certain parts of the game, and nearly an entire route supposedly, the translation to english was butchered. Not to mention the fact that the game itself was changed during localization. I still want to read it, but I hope that I'll be able to in Japanese one day as well
