Private-Oneechan Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 It can be anything from Japan. For me it has to be ramen, not that simple crap you throw into a pot of boiling water, im talkin about the good stuff. Also I made Omurice one time and it was amazing. Quote
Satsuki Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Mochi~ Wasted quite a lot of money on them already~~ Quote
DavidA. Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Ramen all the way. I've always wanted to try those Onigiri—rice balls—after watching Pokemon when I was younger. I should probably buy some soon; now I'm hungry... Quote
Segai Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I quite like good sushi. Got a few good restaurants in the area. Quote
XReaper Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 natto. the guarantied lifesafer when you find yourself suddenly broke. Quote
starlessn1ght Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Sushi. I've never eaten something else, though. I'd like to eat tayaki. Quote
Turnip Sensei Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Sushi and ramen are good stuff. I also like anything made from soba. I tried making omurice once. The taste was good but the egg wrap broke, so the result was fried rice with some fried egg flakes. Quote

Heizei_koukousei Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Omuraisu is hands down my favorite. I prefer it with fried rice but steamed rice is good enough. I've had a few other dishes like miso soup and chard oshitashi but nothing melts in your mouth like omelet rice. Oh I also really like nikuman. Something about hidden goodies always gets me Private-Oneechan 1 Quote

FidgetQueen Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Onigiri all the way. It's cheap and good..... but mostly cheap. Quote

Monmon Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Nikujaga,Sukiyaki and Sushi i prefer Chinese noodles than Ramen myself. Quote
Lexyvil Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Just as I clicked on this thread, my mouth instantly felt dry and in need of some Japanese food... I have to go with Sushi. I will admit that I never tried Sushi before just until about, I think, 2 or 3 years ago. I learned that there are good and bad sushi places, so I can't really tell which are the professionally-made kinds and vice versa. Quote
suikashoujo Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I haven't tried everything I want to try, but so far I like Curry Rice, Omurice, tamagoyaki, and tempura in terms of things I can make at home. As for store bought food, anpan is pretty good, and so is melonpan. Quote
Eclipsed Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Ramen Soft noodles Strong soup base Extra pork x2 Extra eggs x2 Extra noodles x4 Quote
Lexyvil Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Pocky. I have no originality. AT ALL. Hey, me too. I guess you can say it's my second favourite Japanese food and the second I ever tried. Quote
Getsuya Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I really like yakisoba if I can get it on a day when it won't give me heartburn. It's best fresh with lots of sauce. Other than that I freaking love gyuudon and whenever I can make the trip I head up to a Sukiya near a bookstore I like and get cheese gyuudon with a salad. When I lived in Kyoto I ate this just about every night since it's only like $3-4 and comes with lots of meat, rice, cheese plus the salad and miso soup on the side. A good meal for a broke exchange student, though I can afford to live a bit nicer now days. Quote
Clephas Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I love deep-fried tofu... I never realized tofu could be so delicious until I hate deep-fried tofu, Japanese pickles, and natto for breakfast one morning. Quote
