starlessn1ght Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 The first ep was lovely as always. But I didn't realize it was a prequel until the end. Looking from the PV, the next ep isn't going to continue where it left, because they are supposed to be in Okinawa... This isn't making sense. Is the whole season 2 a sequel? Quote
starlessn1ght Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 Has anyone here read the manga? People are saying this season is going to be the same year, but with other stuff that wasnt covered in the previous season. This doesnt make sense. Did they leave so much content unadapted from the manga??? Quote
AaronIsCrunchy Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I must admit to not expecting it to be a prequel (perhaps we find out what happened in Okinawa next week?), and for what it was it seemed mildly pointless, but it was still Non Non Biyori doing what Non Non Biyori does, so I'm very happy I've also decided I want a daughter like Renge, because she'd be hilarious. IS IT HAUTE COUTURE? - that bit had me in stitches. The second episode comes out on my birthday, so I think that's a pretty darn good present Never read the manga, I presume it's definitely worth reading? starlessn1ght 1 Quote
Mugi Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Not exactly sure what the rest of the season is going to be, I mean I honestly don't care that much if it's a prequel. Non Non Biyori is Non Non Biyori, anything that's made will satisfy me. Quote
Nosebleed Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I read the manga, while some parts were skipped, the fact that Non Non Biyori has no plot still remains, the first season was not detrimental to the manga whatsoever. I'm going to guess this first episode is just filling in a small gap and they'll resume regular activities later. Either way though it's still Non Non Biyori and I doubt they'll be reusing the old scenes, that'd be really shady. But they did call this season repeat so I mean Quote
suikashoujo Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I've only read the manga so far, but the first season (and second when it finishes) is high on my priority list of anime to watch. It really is a nice little series, though. (there's only room for one Komari in my heart, but this one is nice too ) starlessn1ght 1 Quote

But they did call this season repeat so I mean @NB, I would be fine because this is still Non Non Biyori and I would still enjoy it very much. However, I'd prefer a real sequel, because as the time passed in the first season we saw the girls becoming more close and more intimate with each other, and their friendship bond grew. I would prefer not to miss this growth, and see them improving it even more after Okinawa. Quote
starlessn1ght Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 I just can't describe how much I loved the previous episode!!! SOOOO goood... And here's a Komari's pic, nyan~: AaronIsCrunchy 1 Quote
AaronIsCrunchy Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Well... I just d'awwwwwed my way to an early grave there I think. I think I'm starting to warm to the new themes, although it'll be a while (if ever) that I consider them to be as good as the 1st season's ones. That said, this week's episode was, of course, absolutely wonderful. I can't remember the last time I fell in love with a show quite as much Nee-chan is glorious. starlessn1ght 1 Quote
Joshua1207 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 New episode was so good. I am guessing the entire season is gonna be a prequel of sorts? I wasn't expecting that but I've been enjoying the episodes a lot. Glad this episode was Hotaru focused <3 Quote
AaronIsCrunchy Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Dunno if prequel's the right word (it was for the first episode, but this episode was after Hotaru joined), but it's looking like just more tales from the year in Asahigaoka. Not that I mind, adds detail and depth to the characters starlessn1ght 1 Quote

Non Non Biyori is always a joy to watch. Quote

Non Non Biyori is always a joy to watch. This ep was set between episodes 1 and 2 from the 1st season. A prequel means all episodes are set before the original work. In this case, Repeat is a side story. AaronIsCrunchy 1 Quote
AaronIsCrunchy Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Just a couple of hours left until Asahigaoka's finest return :3 Hoping for Candy Store to pop up in this one: starlessn1ght and Joshua1207 2 Quote
AaronIsCrunchy Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Not sure how I felt about todays episode - it certainly wasn't bad, but there've definitely been better. The ending was hilarious though, and a not-as-great Non Non Biyori is still a solid 7-8/10 so I'm fairly content Quote
starlessn1ght Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 AH... Another lovely episode! I just can't... Describe how much I love this anime! It just performs its task SO DAMN WELL: it's relaxing, heartwarming in a way I've never experienced before. NonNon is a masterpiece! It has such a lovely cast, so many wonderful moments, the perfect setting... I also like the fact it doesn't come from a 4koma manga. Not that 4koma adaptations are bad (Gochuumon is also wonderful); it's just that I think the fact it doesn't have to rely on skits every time makes it flow better... Since I like it more the more I watch it, I think it'll soon become my favorite anime... I am just afraid of what will happen to me when this season ends... But better not think about it now and enjoy that NonNon is here... AaronIsCrunchy 1 Quote
AaronIsCrunchy Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Know that feel ;_; Still got another 8(? Maybe 9?) episodes to go though, so don't worry too much just yet I've gotta wait until after work to watch it as I don't have time now, shit sucks. starlessn1ght 1 Quote
AaronIsCrunchy Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Was crying by the end of it, the whole episode was so unbelievably beautiful. Renge's recorder theme playing pretty much finished me off (such a wonderful piece of music). I'm such a wuss. My eternal gratitude goes out to the makers of this series. starlessn1ght 1 Quote
starlessn1ght Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 I'm anxiously waiting for the next ep! It seems promising! And I want a Komari-focused episode too! AaronIsCrunchy 1 Quote

starlessn1ght Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 I'm actually glad there are two more months of NonNon... Cuz starting from next monday, I'll be having classes. So NonNon will prevent me from "overstressing". And then, there are more three months of Gochiusa... hehehe... Seems like I'll have it easy this semester... AaronIsCrunchy 1 Quote

AaronIsCrunchy Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Another really good episode It's silly how much I look forward to a 20 minute anime where not much really happens. Explaining to anyone who hasn't seen it why it's so good would be pointless I feel. Still waiting for Komari episode though... oh my god freaking adorable sailor suit outfit right at the end <3 starlessn1ght 1 Quote
