Userage Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Can you give me examples of the most beautiful anime and visual novels in character design and art? Quote
Yuuko Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Well, what is beautiful depends on the person but for me Irotoridori no Sekai has beautiful art About animes I don't know. Can't remember any anime that had great art at the moment. I'm sure there were some though. Quote
OriginalRen Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Is this even a question? Best anime alive: Quote
XReaper Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 anime: zetsuen no tempest vn: definitely no key style, i prefer the ones from "inre" OR "elf" Quote
GetterEmperor Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I've never played it, but Mahoyo looks crazy good with the visuals. Quote
Fiddle Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Garden of Words is an anime with characteristically stupendous graphics, but there seems to be some degree of consensus that it sucks in every other aspect. Mushishi and its sequels can probably be described as beautiful from an artistic perspective. joehawks12 1 Quote
Userage Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 Thank you very much! these are all great, especially Irotoridori no Sekai ! Quote
Segai Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 For anime Guilty Crown looks quite good, and I like the visuals in Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso very much too. Quote
Narcosis Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Regarding visual novels, Anything by Jin Happoubi and Oyari Ashito. Bishoujo Mangekyou is just screaming beauty and basically every single game Oyari worked on is a pure joy for the eyes. I'd definately recommend getting their artbooks, if you're looking for great and inspirational character art. AKIRA's and Ryuuko Ooishi's art is also incredibly distinct and they're both most known for their work on WAB series, particulary Sekien no Inganock, Valusia and Sharnoth. Can't say much about anime, since animation is what counts the most and artwork is often put at the second place, but Gankutsuou prove that exceptions do exist. I'm sure there are better examples to follow, though. Quote
Sovereign1612 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Eden* has the best art i've seen so far in a VN the entire game is a CG Quote
Nashetania Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Kono Oozora ni, Tsubasa wo Hirogete o/ starlessn1ght 1 Quote
Tyrael Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 As far as VN's go, Starless is definitely in a whole different category of beauty Quote
Kurokusari Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Eden* has the best art i've seen so far in a VN the entire game is a CG Quote
starlessn1ght Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 despite many people would disagree with it: Key. Specially Rewrite. Hinoue's designs are original and moe. And Key has some sort of "glow" in their CGs that's really outstanding and makes you want to go back again and again to see the CGs. Quote
Zodai Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 In terms of anime, Shin Sekai Yori is really strong art-wise. As is anything by SHAFT. Quote
Kosakyun Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Anything done by SHAFT is a-ok in terms of art with me. Quote
Fred the Barber Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Garden of Words is an anime with characteristically stupendous graphics, but there seems to be some degree of consensus that it sucks in every other aspect. Gibberish 1 Quote
Wonderfullyevil Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Anime: I'd mention Penguindrum for having quite the colour palette, bringing full attention to almost every detail. VN: The steampunk series have nice presentation. The stylization is amazing, and is a treat if you like shōjo art. I haven't played it, but Shiei no Sona-Nyl looks imprezzive. Other than that, Favorite's works have a cool palette too. Innocent Grey manages to make mundane characters look pretty. Nitro+'s later works are amazing in visual presentation. Quote
Kenshin_sama Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 For VNs, I'd have to go with Kamidori. By itself, the sheer number of CGs was amazing, and the quality of those CGs was top-notch. My favorite for anime was a difficult choice, but I decided to go with Kyousougiga. The bakground designs are rich and distinctive and the characters are very well-drawn. Quote
iamnoob Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Irotoridori no Sekai / Hoshimemo / AstralAir The same artist did these and it's by far one of the best art I've seen Quote
Getsuya Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Try Figure 17. The scenery is pretty beautiful and the music goes with it very well. The characters are also really adorable. Trailer: For VNs, maybe try Quartett? I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I really like the art style that company uses and the instrumental orchestra music fits really well with it. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNLwOlxiROA Edit: Also, if you want to see the beauty of the world in a new way, I recommend reading/watching Kino's Journey ~The Beautiful World~. As the tagline of the series reads: 'This world is not beautiful. Therefore, it is.' OP Quote
ezyo22 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 for an anime I think Fate/Stay Night UBW 2015 have a great visual and for a VN I suggest Steins;Gate Quote
iamnoob Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 For anime besides the famous UBW, Nagi no Asakua has amazing visuals of water and scenery if you want to watch it make sure it's in 1080p. Quote
joehawks12 Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 By far, mushishi is the most beautiful anime i've ever watched. Stories, characters, backgrounds, the soundtrack, and especially the mushi themselves. It's all just beautiful, with an incredible other-worldly relaxing feel that no other anime has ever given me. Pure, hand drawn bliss. Quote
