TheFantasm Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 "Nintendo Co., Ltd. deeply regrets to announce that President Satoru Iwata passed away on July 11, 2015 due to a bile duct growth." Only 55. Damn. I wasn't always a fan of some of the decisions he made, but the man was an icon in the gaming industry, and he will be missed. Nosebleed Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Your Nintendo Directs were cringey, but I still liked you Iwata. RIP. Quote
Kurisu-Chan Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 One of the few CEO of a gaming company that was a real gamer, he played many of the games he made or produced, don't forget that, he really loved video games. Quote
madvanced Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 My body could never be reggie for this... RIP Iwata-sensei Quote
Thunderbro Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 This was really sudden, I wasn't expecting this at all. I had no idea he had health issues, 55 is a pretty young age to die. Quote
Ayana Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Hearing this has really put a gloom over my whole day, considering I've grown up entirely on Nintendo games (especially Kirby and Earthbound... Earthbound ;_; ). R.I.P. Satoru Iwata, you will be missed. However, to this day onward you will still continue to be revered as the ultimate video gaming icon. Quote
Silvz Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I litteraly cried when I found out. I wasn't expecting this, and even thought it was a joke. He maybe wasn't the best CEO of Nintendo, but he loved what he did and made Nintendo keep growing as a great gaming company. I'll really miss him. Quote
Kanbe Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 World is just cruel taking such a wonderful man like him. RIP. Quote
Kenshin_sama Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 The gaming world just lost a very powerful figure. I'll never forget how much fun I had playing games on my old NES as a kid. ;_; Quote
Berilium Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Just woke up and I see news about this. Don't know what to say about this. RIP Quote
Mugi Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 This is insane. He died so early...time to cry for a while. RIP Iwata-san, you will be missed. Quote
Decay Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Your Nintendo Directs were cringey, but I still liked you Iwata. RIP. If by cringy you mean amazing, then I agree. RIP Iwata. Before moving on to the presidency of Nintendo he helped craft one of the most consistently great game development studios in existence, HAL Laboratory. It's highly possible that they hadn't made a single bad game in the last 25 years. I will miss his presence in the industry dearly. Quote

Novel21 Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Rip Iwata, we are going to miss you so much and thank you very much for all the Nintendo Games you have made:-) Quote
Nimbus Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I have never been much of a Nintendo fanboy, didn't grow up with any of their consoles and outside Pokemon I'm not much of a follower of their franchises. Yet even I understand the scale of this tragedy. My heart goes out to his colluges in the industry but even more so to his family and friends. Rest in Peace Satoru Iwata, you will always be remembered as the gamer you were at heart. Quote
Ene Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I wasn't expecting this... Rest in peace Satoru Iwata, you will be missed! Quote
