Guest Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Still playing Umineko (Since it's so long ) But I also play Deardrops and Kara no Shoujo. It really depends on the mood. I can't play just one, sometimes I want horror, some times just pointless moe. Quote
TheFantasm Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Going back and finishing routes in Grisaia no Kajitsu (only played through Amane's, then left it alone). Finished Yumiko's, am currently on Sachi's, and I don't know about the other two. Quote
Zakamutt Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I liked Michiru, but I'm a feels person. I also found Amane second worst (you already know what's going to happen and the execution just isn't that interesting after a while) and Makina worst (just didn't grab me like the rest). All routes are good though, I want to stress that. Quote
Toopa Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Right now I'm playing Toradora Portable on a PSP emulator, It's pretty good and gives the same vibe as the anime, So far i have only come to one, rather disappointing ending, But the ending was suppost to be that way it seems. I only just started is fun Quote
FruitsPunchSamurai Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I Personally felt that aside from Sachis and Amanes routes, the rest are really weak. Also most of the bad ends are just so poor and disappointing it would be fine without them being in there Quote
Vokoca Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 ^ For me, it was Amane>Makina>Sachi>Michiru>Yumiko. Despite my inability to sympathise with Michiru and her route being out-of-place, it was still somehow more enjoyable than the straight up badly written Yumiko one. As for the first three, they were not only much better done, but they also contained information about the greater plot and Yuuji's past - which instantly made me like them much more than the rest. Finally got some more time in between exams and finished Kanae's route in Muramasa. Damn that was long - and awesome! In retrospect, I'm glad I've ended up on Kanae's route in regards to the direction in which her route went. It felt like a very satisfying conclusion to Kageaki's story, or at least, his struggle with his own sins. I've really grown to like him in chapter 5 when his personality and way of thinking were exposed fully, and it was strangely satisfying seeing him get his desired punishment. I've also liked how, despite this obviously being a side route, the main plot just didn't get swept under the rug. I was afraid the writers might take the lazy way out and go "Hikaru got killed by a bomb, haha! Now we can focus on Kanae!", but they at least included that basement scene, which was a really nice touch and an acceptable way of leaving the issue for a different ending. In the end, what I liked the most about the story was how detailed the characters were. The parts where the narrative delves deep into the characters' mind and follows their train of thought as they confront their problems were easily my favourite. Of course, the writing was also excellent in the fight scenes and their ever present infodumps (I almost feel like I could go into air combat myself right now), and the overall presentation, art, effects and sound keep up the high Nitro+ standard. In fact, with the numerous animated cutscenes, this is probably the best I've seen from them so far. tl;dr I've really enjoyed it a lot and I am looking forward to the rest. Finished the Ruitomo fandisc and am currently playing the main games OP on repeat until eternity. Not sure what to play next, honestly. Dies? Part of me kinda wants to play Muramasa? Finish the Grisaia series? Ahhhh too many eroge to play I haven't read the rest yet, but Muramasa is definitely worth it! Quote
Yeah Way Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Harvest Festa, Akane route Akane route Akane route Akane route Akane route Akane route Akane route!!!!! ASDFGHJKL Quote
garejei Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Finally got some more time in between exams and finished Kanae's route in Muramasa. Damn that was long - and awesome! That's good to hear because Kanae's route is probably the weakest one out of the three IMO -- in other words if you already thought that was awesome, you'll *love* the other two. That's where the primary themes of Muramasa (善悪相殺, heroism, justice, etc.) really come to the forefront, and Hikaru will have a much larger role to play, too. Quote
Berilium Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I started playing Umineko again and I have to say, I didn't think I would be this hooked. Things get interesting too far and still it's chapter 2 holy moly ...WAIT this is chapter 1. What the hell? How will this story develop? Tonight we have a marathon guys. By the way: The nice lovely conversation between Eva and Hideyoshi...we need to link THIS to a dictionary and name it "The Most Literal Definition of Death Flag you would ever get" At first she looks irritating then this conversation suddenly occurs when you sympathize with her and start to like her or something like than then BAM she's dead. Even my dog saw that coming Quote

What, you didn't like watching Yuuji grind mooks so that he could defeat the plane boss? Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 What, you didn't like watching Yuuji grind mooks so that he could defeat the plane boss? That reminds me, I was reading that scene the day before Thanksgiving last year B) Quote
DimDito Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 What, you didn't like watching Yuuji grind mooks so that he could defeat the plane boss? It was a scripted event. Quote
Wahfuu Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Welp. Finally figured out what I'm playing next. It's time. Bolverk 1 Quote
Nagisa_Fawkes Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Tomorrow I'll be going in a quite long bus trip. so I'll need an all ages to distract myself. I'll be downloading Umineko, in that case, hope it's as good as everyone says... hehe and on the Fuwa page for that VN I saw loli twins... blue haired for that matter, I'm looking forward to meeting them. EDIT: And since it's a murder mystery, I highly hope none of them dies 0_o Quote
dpantski Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Well I'll avoid spoilers, but I'd encourage you to bear with it for the first hour or so. The story starts very slowly in my opinion, but it picks up quickly and is well worth the read after that. Quote

Boon Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Alternating between Grisaia no Kajitsu and Katawa Shoujo (both of which incidentally have blonde twin-tails that I fancy <3). Just finished Michiru's route (shoddily-written route, great character/personality), so Imma head over to the Hanako route with what little energy I have for the rest of the morning (2:40am). Quote
Nyanko Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 So far I got 3 bad endings in 999, so I decided to search for a guide to see how many endings it actually has. I started the normal ending now and after I'll be playing the true and last ending. Also started Symphonic Rain, really not sure what to think of it though.. maybe I just have to put it down and pick a long and supposedly great VN to read.. *Installing Rewrite* Quote
Vokoca Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Took a short break from Muramasa to read more Reminiscence. Just got past the OP and to the main heroine. Kizuna, huh? Wait, that Kizuna? That's... that's... *mindblown* Quote
Chronopolis Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Blah, finished Houkago no Futekikakusha. The game makes you appreciate a lots of things that wouldn't be of much importance in most VN's by having you care for all the characters. The game's main focus and where it goes the fathest lies in human emotions and fragility: anguish, wishes, hope, solidarity, and most of all: togetherness. Quote
solidbatman Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Actually reading ef now. Very very good so far. Quote
Ceris Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Just starting Hoshizora no Memoria. Really hoping I'm going to like this since it was recommended by so many people. Quote
Darkshine Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Finished Shinigami no Kiss, Kohaku's route being the only enjoyable story. Gonna try out Kira Kira next. Quote
Scars Unseen Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Holy hell, Flutterz, I thought you dropped off the face of the earth. Good to see you again! FINALLY getting back to Grisaia. I thought I was going to have more free time after school was out, but I didn't get much until now. By the way, what year is Grisaia set in? It's hard to know the quasi-accurate currency value unless I can cross-reference the value against the year, and stuff like that bugs me until I figure it out. A few possibilities come to mind: 1. 20XX 2. In the Not Too Distant Future (Next Sunday A.D.) 3. Present Day... Present Time (cue somewhat creepy laughter) Quote
