Yeah, basically, I'm unable to put into words how I feel about it because of how fucked it was. I don't actually think it was resolved the right way so far, but I think that just makes it even more powerful.

 

I had no fucking idea what to think during that part when her mother was just screaming at her. I still don't know what to think. I hated Kyouko from the outset, and still haven't come around on her.

 

And I don't think the game expects you to, which is really different from the way most stories like this seem to be told. I was sure they were going to make me happy with her by the end, but noooooooooooooooooo. Not even a little bit.

 

So yeah. I think the fact that I don't really know how I feel and can't actually concretely say that I liked that chapter is probably a testament to how good that chapter actually was. Though, maybe when I've had a few days to think about it, I'll have a different opinion.

 

Then I don't expect I'll really come around on her. Sad, since she's the first one my MC is going to end up dating. I'm dong it in that order for completion's sake. 

 

Also, I don't think softening the blow about the harem ending was spoiling it too much, I'm honestly glad I'm not looking forward to it now, I won't have to be burned by it.

 

And Touka's bad ending, man. 

If they just threw drinking until she couldn't see straight into the mix, that was kind of how I ended up when I first struck out on my own. I'm past that now, but it really disturbed me.

 

I somewhat liked Kyouko by the end of the VN. She's still a bitch, but she's bad at being a bitch. I do understand what you mean about it, though.  I found Natsumi somewhat bland, but not exactly bland either. They didn't end it right, and she's the worst heroine in the game. Sachi is just above Natsumi, but she's still not a great heroine. But that's by SNK (not Shingeki No Kyojin) standards. She's still pretty good, but she ends up being kinda bland (less bland than Natsumi though). Touka, I found annoying. I did not like her at all, at least until you complete her arc and she's not a major bitch any more. THEN she's better. I found Eri very nice (Lol just wanted to namedrop the girl who was murdered). Izono is the most interesting character, though I almost always feel that way about them extra characters you don't have a route for (exceptions: G-SNM). Houzuki is awesome. He's bad, but he's awesome.

All that said, SNK is awesome.

 

I am now focusing on Phantom Of Inferno. As of right now, I have no idea what's going on, and the interface is annoying at best, but it's going pretty well.

I agree. It would be naive to think that any relationship develops beyond a certain point without the inclusion of sex, that's like owning a car you don't drive. I hate when people say they like realism in VNs but they don't think H-scenes or H-related content is necessary, makes me wonder if they even know what a proper relationship is. I skip through most H-scenes too admittedly, especially in Amane's route on Grisaia but them being there leaves me with a comforting feeling. 

That's basically what I look for in the H-content. however I just can't seem to skip anything in a VN like you guys do, be it an h-scene or the route of an "annoying" character. I just don't feel right on the inside when I skip stuff, so I never do it.

Finally started RuiTomo. I had no idea this VN had such a... characteristic writing style. It's kind of difficult because of all the proverbs and slang used, but it definitely makes for an unique narration that leaves a strong impression. It's all so philosophical and wordy... especially that letter. I will never understand how Japanese people write letters, that has to take writing skill that's completely out of my league.

 

As for the plot itself, it's rather humorous so far, didn't get into the more serious bits yet I suppose. Also, it's incredibly cute. Especially the main character.... what is that blasphemy? He's confusing me to the point where I wish he was just a girl instead.

Just finished Natsumi's chapter in Sharin no Kuni, and yeah, she hasn't grown on me yet. But I've just started the final chapter and this game is freaking rad.

Finally through Meiya route in Muv Luv Extra.

 

Finally, I am halfway through that trash.

 

The route got pretty good towards the end actually, with a few heartwarming or sad moments, and surprisingly, a meaningful H-scene. After ctrl-skipping through half the game, I also got Marimo's H-scene. On to Sumika route!

Didn't expect that you'd fall head-over-heels for her after you finished her chapter or anything    Hopefully, you'll like her character a lot more after you finish her entire route.  That's what happened for me, anyway.  It's...hard to dislike her when she's not all depressed and angsty.

 

Well, as someone with depressive tendencies, I actually usually don't mind an overly-angsty character. She was just... boring. Like, her way of handling her emotions was to become a nothing, I guess.

Stopping for the day on Draculius...even if I am in the middle of a fight scene with a bad guy. This might actually the longest fight I've seen in a VN as the characters have been fighting this guy for two hours straight with the only breaks being when the guy runs off and the characters are chasing him

I finished the Rizu Route in A Profile and have to say I pleasantly surprised ... At first i thought that would a somehow boring experience and the Protag annoyed me... But now I really like him and generally this kind of MC. He does what he does because he want to do that and not have to do it (like Yuuji ) ... And i'm really glad in the end i have the all ages version and don't have to see the "pseudo-incest"  ... I'm now looking forward to the other routes...

No, my original plan was to play only Meiya and Sumika for Extra to go to Unlimited as quickly as possible.

 

What changed is that I decided to take a detor and in 10 minutes I had Marimo's bad end- and that was only for the H-scene. Definitely not playing all of them.

 

I hope that for MLU, finishing Meiya route is enough.

You don't, the choices only change the epilogue and H-scenes basically.

And Meiya and Sumika's routes share a lot of text in MLE, so you're almost there. Unlimited is already certainly more entertaining than Extra.

how quickly Houzuki changed his ways. Like, it only took him getting beaten once for him to break. He seemed

way more intense than that, in my opinion. It was just a little... no, it was a lot hard to believe that he'd not only give up, but also help Ken and Ririko out like that. (I wound up doing Ririko's epilogue before any of the others.)

Also, I totally knew he was faking his leg injury. And once I figured out that he was faking his leg injury (which I suppose was pretty obvious, I don't mean to sound like I think I'm a genius or anything for figuring it out), it didn't take much more thought to realize that Ken was faking his drug addiction, because obviously the MC had something up his sleeve that he could beat Houzuki with, too.

 

But still, that game is fantastic. I do still have to run through and get the other epilogues.

After getting a crash on Sumika route's amusement park scene, I just gave up, learned that not much changes compared to Meiya route, found an Ultimate save and started playing Muv-Luv Unlimited.

 

I already feel I'm really going to like this.

The thing is, Houzuki's job is to train a special High Class Individual, and one that's better than him.

From the moment where Ken beat him, Houzuki had already lost.

It'd be counterproductive to get rid of or punish such a Special High Class Individual.

Once you play you'll understand.   It wasn't as much of disappointment as slow and predictable for me in the middle, but a lot of people I've talked to struggled with the 3rd trial a lot more than me so that may be it.  

 

Play it as soon as you can, it's amazing.  I was really careful to avoid spoilers, I didn't even Google search anything pertaining to it.

Resumed playing...and five minutes of reading later they finally killed the guy. Won't be dropping Draculius after all but now I'm worried, if this is how long it takes for them to fight and kill the intro bad guy how long are they going to take with whoever the game's main villain is going to be? It's already approaching DBZ standards with stretching out a few minutes length within the story.
