Schnarf Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 finished Majikoi S yesterday. Catching up on some anime then I'll decide if I want to play Grisaia, Shuffle!, or My GF is the President Quote
Vokoca Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Reading more AkaGoei. Got to some more interesting story bits, but the way things are going, I really can't imagine how the routes will even work. Seeing what the routes entail is taboo to the MC no matter which character route it'll be, I'm really curious in which way things will go. And the main route (Reika has one, right? Or does it work dfferently? I have no idea what to make of the structure so far, but that's pretty fun in itself too--) I can imagine the least. Quote
Vokoca Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 SATISFACTION SHALL BE MINE! I googled "Grisaia common route" and managed to find out how close I was to finishing the common route without spoiling anything for myself. I don't think I've ever found anything like that out before without entirely ruining the game for myself...I'm in shock... Tch... you got lucky... this time. Kidding, I know that feel. I always get really curious about the VN structure and get tempted to look up the common/heroine route details. Or looking for OST... those two almost always managed to spoil me without fail, so I stopped doing it completely. Quote

Just save Moe route for the last, because near the end of it there's a fork that can take you directly to the sequel. Quote
RusAnon Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 AkaGoei routes are complete mess, I'd advice reading appropriate routes from FD right upon completion of particular route if you want to have something even resembling to conclusion. Quote
Aggressor Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 You don't need any conclusions if you're moving right to the seqel. I haven't read the FD at all and I completely enjoyed the game, to the point where I think reading the FD could've made it worse. Quote
Bolverk Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I agree with Aggressor, I'd even go so far to say the lack of definitive endings made the sequel even better. I think it's quite fitting considering the story in the sequel. Oh and I haven't read the FD either. Quote
InSoulFallen Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Finished 3rd installment of Bishoujo Mangekyo Starting 3rdeyes first title BloodyRondo Quote

So far I haven't came across any choices that would be a clear indication of going towards certain routesI'm shortly after the point where Kaito rescues Tsuki from... how do you even read her name? Anzu? Anko? Kyouko? , maybe except for one, but I will keep the Moe one in mind! By the way, I've just now found out that there's some sort of a re-release titled Trinity, any idea what's that all about? Am I missing something if I'm not reading that one, or is it just like a bundle of all the three VNs in one? Quote
Bolverk Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I believe it's Anzu, I've never been good with names though. Yeah It's a re-release with the 3 games, aka Trinity <- didn't see that coming did you? haha. It's for Ps3 and psp, so it got no ero. On the otherhand it has what it seems like higher res CG's. There are a lot more ero CG's than normal ones in Shuumatsuron though pc version.. Either way I'd go for the pc version as I did. Vokoca 1 Quote
douggle Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 About halfway through school days. Setsuna a best. Quote
Famichip Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Finished the short fandisk ChuSinGura 46+1 Sayo no Chiisana Tsubomi. Haven't finished with the main game yet but considering how short this is thought I'd give it a go. Quote
Vokoca Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Reading AkaGoei a bit at a time, it's a bit tiring in Japanese. Anyway, it seems as if I am in Tsuki's route already, unless the common route focuses on her a lot. Her route or not, I'm really liking the backstory. What a shocker! I was just wondering if it has updated art or something, but if it isn't anything important, then yeah, I will stick to the version I have now. Plus, I wouldn't want to re-read so soon anyway. I get the common/heroine route details spoiling the story, but...how in Satan's glorious name could looking up the OST spoil the plot? If you're stupid like me and look for ost tracks on youtube, it can happen easily. Even if you manage not to look into the comments, there still is a danger of CGs and video names. I was once looking up OST for a certain anime after finishing it, and it found the OST from the second season of the anime (which I haven't seen yet), with "CHARACTER X DEATH SCENE" right behind the song name in the title. Worst part was that this was a VN adaptation. Quote
InSoulFallen Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 nearly finish with BloodyRondo common route(i think) the comedy in here doesnt really blend well with the game itself Quote
Rain Soul Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Playing Steins;Gate atm. Finished Fate/Stay Night a month back. Only recently stared having time to read the VN's. Quote
Zephryion Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Playing Clover Days. There are too many damn flashbacks that its annoying, when will they stop randomly appearing?! Quote
Darkshine Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Gonna play Fate/Night soon so i'm just wondering should I use a walkthrough or play it blind, you know cause of how long it is. I'm trying to gun for 100% on the whole story, you know like get all the endings both bad and good so what should I do. Quote
Nagisa_Fawkes Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Literally just started Kira Kira, so far it's good, I like the artwork, a litte lacking in the characters voices tough. Quote
Zakamutt Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Start without a guide for f/sn IMO. when asked about the tiger dojo when you hit bad ends, accept; it's a silly hint corner. It's very possible to complete f/sn without a walkthrough, and I think it might actually add to the experience. #opinons Vokoca 1 Quote
Chronopolis Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Just passed the part where I could have locked into Makina's route...soooo depressing... I mean, I know some wealthy parents do that to their kids, but geez, she's pretty screwed up. Seriously I thought you were talking about this: http://www.zerochan.net/835246#full Same character name, presumably the same circumstances, and the same mentally speaking. On topic, I ran out of steam in Midori no Umi about half way through. After you finish one of the more revealing endings or the true ending, there isn't really a compelling to go through the other routes except to learn about the characters. The general scenario is revealed and the while the method of resolution varies appropriately, they spend too little time on it. The remaining routes are like books on a bookshelf, just there if you are curious and are willing to spend the time. Quote

I highly recommend going without a guide, using a walkthrough would just ruin all the fun the choices present. Just make sure to save often - there is a LOT of bad ends, but each one comes with an (often hilarious) hint corner, which tells you exactly what you did wrong, eliminating the need of a guide completely. Plus, if you watch all the hints, something cool happens~ There is a nice flowchart out there if you really hate choices for some reason, but yeah-- using a guide takes away from what VNs are all about, in my opinion. DimDito Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Playing Key's Rewrite, 3 routes done. ...Not impressed thus far, story's a bit messy and incohesive. -_- Which is exactly why WE NEED JUN MAEDA! T_T Quote
VN-Angel Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Anyway, it seems as if I am in Tsuki's route already, unless the common route focuses on her a lot. Her route or not, I'm really liking the backstory. I hate her. She didn't go full dere even in her route. Playing Tiny Dungeon series now. Bell is so damn adorable even from deredere heroine's standard. Quote
