Although there's no direct connection between this and AkaGoei, they still make the background in the same kind of way all WAB novels connect with each other through the setting. Like Narc said, the two games aren't at all connected plot-wise, but timeline-wise I wonder whether the prequels will ever get translated. Iirc AnG has a translation project but it sounds pretty much dead.

Events take a centry? 150 years? Don't remember exact dates, but quite a bit into the future from AkaGoei, where the people have abandoned the surface and gone underground to survive in the face of some disaster or other.
