I guess it's supposed to turn on some people, but remains completely superfluous and inauthentic. People do various things during sex; Yes - they cry, but usually from joy (not because it's painful), laugh or stay calm and quiet. But for the love of gods, that kind of crying described in most vn's doesn't really happen; there are other, more important things people are usually occupied with than the pain (which lasts very shortly anyway)... unless the girl's forced to have sex, which would be completely justified, since it's more or less rape

I'm still pretty new to VNs but I'll give the more general things that turn me off to things (which extends to VNs). he first is anything that is just depressing. I mean something that's main appeal is being depressing. I don't mind if something is sad but at a certain point I no longer want to engage with it. Life is sad enough in my opinion, I don't need to seek out depression as entertainment. (If you can still call it that)

One of the others is huge tits. I like my anime women to look like they could actually exist in real life. Large are fine, but about the size of Momoyo from Majikoi or Amane from Grisaia is about the biggest I'm interested in.

as for i, a novel should by no means consist of the following:

These are two primary turnoffs for me.  I categorize these under the common label "deficiencies that detract from a self-consistent setting".  My preferences tend to emphasize setting and premise over other factors.  Appealing characters are important, but too many VNs and anime are filled with uninspired cookie-cutter tropes.  Those that aspire to world building (like Eushully's Ikusa Megami series) tend to be a tier above the rest.

Stuff that is too cookie-cutter. Most anime tropes when applied directly: tsundere, yandere, etc. It's like a waste of text, stop talking.

Huge tits/skin tight uniforms. E.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCFULDkc9fc (the OP is very pretty otherwise). Not my type of fan service, that's all.

Yeah these vn heroines are wimps and crybabies. Losing your virginity is like a freaking bug bite if not like a injection shot at most if there is proper foreplay or lubrication. If the girl is using a tampon or inserted a vibrator in their vagina before, they have a heads up with sex penetration and somewhat adjust/recreate the angle on where they should feel good. 

Also, the hymen breaking is rather off the charts in vns too. It's not suppose to look like a period for gods sakes... I think most of this is just ignorance of the human anatomy... Not sure if more guys are h-scenes scenario writers but if you're a woman, you should not get this wrong at all!!! The only time it's really painful is if the guy forces it on you without foreplay or you're not relaxed while doing it (aka you're very stressed or being raped).

This thread seems confused. Are we talking about things that are turn offs sexually or just stuff we do not generally like in VNs? It seems to be the former but some of these posts confuse me. Not that it matters much I guess.

Personally there are too many to count. To my huge shame I think I'm a bit of a prude. But of all of them, guro and NTR especially have me running to the hills. I can deal with other stuff if the rest of the story is good enough, but not them.

This also applies to male anatomy, no human being in existence has that much semen stored up. They make it look like a broken water pump. Not to mention no human being can shoot said semen so many times so quickly, even 2 times in a row is already dodgy.

I wouldn't say these crazy unrealistic scenarios are a huge turn off since I'm already so used to them, but it can get pretty ridiculous to where I'm just questioning why.
