Zakamutt Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Rice is a real pain to ccok compared to pasta. That said, it is by far the most optimal accompaniment to a wide range of dishes. I prefer Basmati rice, personally. And damn, you know how legendary this thread is, right? One of the old randoms by kendjin/snowpoke, back when the inception of Games and Chatter was still far away. A true masterpiece! Quote
Nyanko Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I love rice. I live in potato land but basmati rice is part of my daily meals (atleast 4 times/week). Sometimes I eat Japanese rice, when making specific stuff. I rarely eat noodles but they're rice noodles. I also make sushi once every 3-4 months. Quote
zoom909 Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 (edited) Testimonial. I'm just an average American guy who never thought much of rice, was lazy and ate Uncle Ben's rice out of a box (boil in a bag rice). It was never that good. Now, I've purchased a Zoujirushi rice cooker and follow the instructions, and it is the best tasting rice I ever had. (this too is the influence of anime) Edited May 9, 2014 by zoom909 Quote
OriginalRen Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Rice is actually pretty expensive in Japan. 30 pound bags (uh, I'm too lazy to convert that) are like 6,000 yen. Quote
