VirginSmasher Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 It just won't work. I've changed the locale (I think) properly and tried playing it and it still doesn't work. Can anybody help me with this problem? Quote
solidbatman Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Define "doesn't work"What exactly happens when you try to run it? Quote
VirginSmasher Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 Define "doesn't work"What exactly happens when you try to run it? The text is fucked up. I managed to get it working on Windows 7, but now it's not working properly. I changed the locale and everything. Quote
solidbatman Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 A font issue perhaps? Someone with more expertise can hopefully figure it out. You just needed to give some more info, otherwise people who can help wouldn't know where to start Quote

I think it may be a font issue because I did everything right and the font was messed up. I'll post later saying if I got it working or not. Quote
Scorp Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Screenshot would help to understand the problem. But there is a known issue with Windows 10 - there is no default fonts, usually shipped with older Windows versions, so most likely you would just need to install a font (do not know which one Saya uses, that's why I need screenshot) and this would solve the problem. Decay Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 In Windows 10, go to Settings > System > Apps & Features > Manage optional features. From there, click Add a Feature and install the Japanese Supplemental Fonts. Fresh Windows 10 installs need to do this for many Japanese games to work properly. Also, it seems like you may be using the fan translated version. I would suggest installing the JAST version, this probably wouldn't be an issue with that. Also, because 1) You should support official localizations of good games like Saya no Uta, and 2) The translation has been refined and improved by a noticeable degree. Narcosis 1 Quote

I had no idea that the prologue was supposed to have text like that. How I got it working was I just had Japan as my location. That's basically it. Quote
Scorp Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 If you posted the screenshot before, like I asked you, everyone would told you that right from the start, instead of guessing non-existing problems. Quote
Narcosis Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 IIRC, OP is propably talking about garbled characters in lines spoken by the "monsters", although I'm not sure anymore; it's ben years since I played it.A screenshot is a must in case of visual-related game issues. It's worthless to post a problem otherwise and expect help. Quote
